Pacific Catch San Mateo Ratings and Reviews
The food, the service, the decor were all excellent. The only reason this did not get an "Outstanding" rating is that it was way too warm inside the restaurant. We asked them to lower the heat, and perhaps they did, but we were still sweating when we left. But we'll definitely be back!
We had a very good dinner with excellent service. I've been to this restaurant several times and I've always left happy. The only downside to this particular location is that there's no place to wait. The restaurant was very crowded and it's impossible to get out of the way of diners coming and going.
One of my favorite places to eat dinner. This time, the brown rice was under cooked and I had a difficult time chewing. That being said, this was the first time EVER that happened. Our waiter was very good as it relates to food allergies and helping us with wine selection.
Ok we gave this place another shot.....glad we did. Food has always been great and unlike my last visit the service was great! There was a mistake made on our order but it was quickly corrected and all was great. My family really enjoyed our dinner and look forward to coming back again. The calamari is amazing!!
I had the Mahi Mahi tacos - absolutely cold with the tortilla tasting like cardboard. They had to have been sitting out for awhile. I would have sent back if I hadn't been with a group of 6. Wrong sandwich delivered to table - had to wait for a remake. Calamari also cold - came to our table within 3 minutes of placing order. They were not made to order! I have been to Pacific Catch on a few occasions and have never been impressed with their food. I will not be going back.
Great value. The menu represents a mixture of tasty seafood and other choices, designed for a young, after work, after theater clientele. Their fish tacos, fish and chips are delicious and very reasonably priced. Their vanilla, chocolate or coffee flavored mochi dessert is a must. The wait staff are attentive, friendly, and professional. I will go again.
We just discovered this place a few months ago and come here multiple times a month. We never had a bad experience until the past dinner. My mahi mahi taco was uncooked and the waitress didn't care. All she said was "I'll just charge you for two tacos." I didn't want any compensation but rather asked that she inform management and the cooks to ensure this didn't happen again. She clearly didn't care or acted on either. She was awful, only coming to us to place our order and at the end to see if we needed anything else. Drinks were not refilled as needed and she had to be told. Hoping this was an off night for them because we drive 35 mins to this place.
We had reservations and were sat down promptly, service was 5 stars,
food was 4 stars, crab cakes were excellent, had a few drinks and the Manhattan were very good, restaurant was comfortable and not to noisy we were able to have a conversation and were not rushed. would definitely go back.
