I arrived at 7 PM, today the sky was dark and cold, the wind was blowing at 14 MPH. The hostess told me to sit outside on the patio, because I was dining alone, she didn’t want to give me a table. I refused, she told me to sit on a stool at the bar. I refused, because I made a reservation with a standard seating.
I was shocked the way she talked to me and treated me because I was a solo diner. For the records, I ate at the restaurant quite often.
I am very disappointed!
very nice - pleasant hospitality - great fish - receptionist taking phone orders unable to seat us
Nice for a strip mall eatery. Lots of vegi options, but very pricey.
If a minted lemonade is wanted, don’t call it a mojito!
I ordered the Sea Bass and it was extremely thin for the price you pay. The rest was good.
Taste is alright. However I expected more for the price. If you enjoy unadulterated "natural" seafood, then this is the place for you. But if you expect subtle interplay with butter, garlic, spices, etc. , there are better choices.
I have eaten at Pacific Catch before, at this one and one in San Jose in the Pruneridge shopping center. The one in Mountain View seems to be a little more upscale. The food is good and the service this time was very, very good. The menu is very different than other restaurants that serve mainly fish. No doubt we will return to either one in the future. The only thing is that I am not into raw fish.
We've had inconsistent service here in the past, but this visit was excellent - the server was friendly and attentive. There weren't many customers seated inside on a warm Thursday evening - more outside. My wild salmon dinner had large portions with tasty veggies, spicy cauliflower, and coconut rice cake, served green curry style. It was spicy. I enjoyed it with a coconut mai tai. My son enjoyed his usual fish & chips with broccoli dinner.
Met friends for dinner. Food and cocktails are overpriced and not worth it. One of our friends ordered the poke tower and said it wasn't as good as the one at another location. Another friend's entree was under seasoned. Server was not attentive. We expected better food and service for the price we paid.
Was our 1st time and our waiter was very helpful and made good suggestions. The ribs were great, but my wife was expecting something different than the pike burger. She will know better next time to order in it’s normal state. Would go again…
The happy hour menu is the perfect way to get a taste of several dishes and share with friends.
The dining room was fairly empty, and they sat a party of eight with a screening baby right next to us..
They should have sat them farther away from us, as we were already there. The baby was screaming so loud, they took him outside for awhile, then they returned, and he kept crying.
They should have at least asked us if we wanted to move. They were not busy at all, and as said, the restaurant was really empty.
Great food, excellent service. It’s always great to see when the wait staff are enjoying their work!! A fun meal
Took a friend here for her birthday because she likes fish, though I do not. She said hers was good. I ordered a chicken bowl which was tasty but more rice than anything. We also ordered an appetizer but the meal was delivered before we had a chance to finish our cocktail and the appetizer so we felt rushed. But the worst was the fact that the waiter had dirty finger nails. Yuck.
We dine at Pacific Catch often, however,
praise goes to the chef this time. Best meal we’ve had so far!
Great service and food!
The food is excellent. It’s noisy when crowded but wonderful otherwise.
The food was excellent. I had a reservation for 7:30 and somehow they messed that up and didn't get us seated until 8 or so, but other than that it was great.
The word that best describes this restaurant is inconsistent. One time you’ll go and a certain dish will be excellent, the next time it will be barely edible and not properly cooked. (One issue they routinely have is under cooking their salmon.) The service also is highly erratic. They are always understaffed and the servers run around as though the place was on fire. They need better management and more consistency because the food at times is very good.
It was good as usual.
Excellent attentive service. Hostess was really pleasant. Knew which people from my party had arrived early and let us know we could wait for others in the bar or at our table. Waiter was super friendly, helpful and responsive. Food was served nice and hot and the variety was very nice. Love that you can have sparkling or still water. Noise level was higher than I would have liked, but we were still able to have some conversation without having to raise our voices too much.
My family eats at Pac Catch Mt View several times a month. Good food. Good service. Nice staff. Seasonal menus.
Had a lovely seat on the Patio with our well behaved dog. The only issue was getting our drinks and then our food order placed. Turns out they had just seated a very large party that backed the bar up. Our seats were so nice that it was fine to wait.
Loved the Asian-style fish and the Mexican chocolate creme brulee
Great food and outdoor seating. I had the Yellowtail fish in green curry with mixed veggies and rice. Delicious!
Visiting son, wife and 2 granddaughters.
Cold and bad tasting food. Our salmon was raw. Waitperson forgot our soups and my friends drink
Service was very slow and the food, although not cheaply priced, was no better than a Red Lobster.
Waitstaff very attentive, food delicious!
The experience was ok, service was really slow towards the end of our meal, and I wouldn’t return to this location again. Food quality and portions are not consistent between the different locations. Campbell is definitely better food and service wise.
Food is ok, but service is substantially below acceptable. It is obvious that management has decided to forgo decent service in order to save a few dollars by not hiring enough waiters. Every time I’ve been there the waiters are running around as though their hair is on fire. Nice upbeat atmosphere. Not a good value however.
Great food, superb wait person, a bit loud for a romantic dinner, but we were there with friends and that was fun. Mint nojito was awesome.
Chimichurri salad recommended by our server was wonderful!
Good food ! We can recommend the happpy hour bites !
Good menu with many type of fish and seafood options. I was there at dinner time during the week. Inside is quite noisy. Outside has a pleasant atmosphere with a fire pit and heaters to keep warm on a cool evening. Service was good, although they did forget to bring my appetizer until they brought my entree. Good value for the price. I would eat here again.
Excellent food and service.
Their summer menu is full of wonderful choices. Our salmon and halibut were cooked as requested. The portions were huge! My hubby loved the Thai brussel sprouts! Oysters were on the list! Unfortunately our waitress misled us as to the size. She use her fingers to show us the size...of the what turned out to be the size of the shell. She was distracted all night waiting on a half dozen tables. What looked like the manager came to ask how everything was and to clear out table. She did ask how everything was at the end of the meal. It took her a while to get the dessert menu to us. We usually have much better service. We will still return for the wonderful food, good cocktail drinks, and relaxing outdoor seating!
The service was the only downside of our experience. Having made a reservation, I expected to be seated and served more quickly. As it was, parties that arrived after us were seated and served before us. We were ignored for the majority of our visit, except when we had food in front of us, which is when we didn't need anything. The food was delicious, and servings were appropriately sized.
From the moment we arrived and were greeted was excellent. The server was attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. Great experience.
I say that I would recommend but not enthusiastically. Using Open Table, I selected outdoor seating (there were 5 of us, older folks and wanting easy conversation) and when we arrived we were told that it was only a "request" and nothing was available. As we had our meal, we noticed quite a few groups being seated outside. The food was ok, a very large menu, but some things were very disappointing - e.g. broccolini could not even be cut it was so undercooked. Some dishes were fine but not notable. Thanks goodness for the pitcher of mojitos that took the edge off!! Won't be back soon, for sure!
Reliable solid food and good service
