Pacific Catch - Campbell Ratings and Reviews
My family and I had a great time at Pacific Catch! We have loved it since it opened and come here for celebrations (such as the other night) and when we simply want good quality, healthy food and/or fish. The service and ambiance were great. The food got 4 stars because when it came time for dessert they were out of about 1/3 of the dessert menu, which also happened to be the things we were planning to order. Otherwise, everything was delicious!
Love this place and the food. We all had rice bowls this trip, a must have at Pacific Catch. We always order with half brown rice, half lettuce, to cut down on carbs. The Wasabi bowl is the best, my girlfriend had the Ahi and I had the Salmon on mine. The men each had the teriyaki bowl, and in addition to the half brown rice, half lettuce, they both got two proteins, another great option if your really hungry. One had the Korean ribs with poke and the other had chicken with crab salad. Everyone went home not stuffed but completely satisfied! Can't beat that for a night out with friends.
Good options for main dishes for all in the party. Seriously lacking in the appetizer or dessert options for anyone who has any allergies, just no imagination in terms of variation of foods. No offer of a dessert beverage other than coffee around the table, even though one of us did not order a dessert. We both would have ordered another beverage if the server had waited around to take that order.
Good service, though not once did they wish us a happy anniversary, as we had indicated on the reservation. Why ask if you aren't going to at least mention it when you seat us?
Quite loud, even though there was not really a wait for those without reservations, nor were there big parties. We had trouble hearing one another across a small table at times.
Only other nick was that it was 18 minutes after the check was dropped off before our waiter appeared again, despite having asked for him to two other servers. We were about to find a manager when he finally showed up.
We eat at Pacific Catch quite often. We like it because we can get a nice, reasonably priced, healthy meal. And half-price bottles of wine on Tuesday is an added bonus. However, our most recent experience was way below par. First, when we arrived (3 minutes before our reservation time) they said we'd have to sit outside or wait 15 minutes. The heaters on the patio were on full blast, which was quite uncomfortable. They turned them off, and then it was fine, but it wasn't a great way to start our meal.
Then we ordered and I got my usual "Japanese Wasabi Bowl" with the Original Ahi Poke. I've probably had this dozens of times before. However, this time it was *extremely* spicy, to the point where it was inedible for me. Because we were outside and it was dark, I hadn't noticed the multitude of chili seeds in the poke. My daughter had a combo dish, and said the Ahi Poke was spicier than the Serrano that was also on her plate.
Our server, Monique, was lovely about it all, and brought me some Macadamia Nut poke that was good, but overall I found it a disappointing experience.
Open table reservations put us at the front of the line and were seated immediately . The food was moderate prices (a very nice change) and was excellent. I love food portions that are 'just right'. I hate it when I am served an entree that could feed a family of six. The Lobster Sushi had me coming back the following week. Best ever!
The service was great, charming and darling. My 22 year old son was very polite but was going to bring his buddies back. According to him, there was 'nice scenery'.
Happy hour pricing was fun whereas you would stay for a second. This is my new 'favorite find'!
Nothing that 'special' for the special of the day. Clam chowder was slightly over cooked (tough/chewy clams). A friend had a lot of rice in the rice bowl dinner, but desert was very good. Desert was very good and the check came super fast when I did not ask for it yet. Nice atmosphere, and quick service. A COLD chilled class for my beer would have been nicer, and I may have ordered another.....but I didn't. Server was very friendly and knew her stuff.
It was my 55th B-day, n our Server Kelly made it splendid. Kelly was very attentive n was right on cue. We had 2 dishes that was mixed around, but she immediately took care of it. I wasn't too hip on the food choices so she explain what was what, n helped me make the right choice. My husband had the 3 combo seafood plate, n I had the 3 kinds of tacos. First time having fish tacos. Food was wonderful. When it came time for my b-day dessert, which was also delicious, Kelly wanted to sing Happy Birthday to me, but I wouldn't let her. We had a great time.
For a fresh seafood restaurant they had very small selection of fish from which to choose, or to have prepared in a customized way (i.e., grilled, broiled, pan fried, etc.). Food is tasty, but overpriced, and thus, did not meet the good value criteria. Service was good. They had two hostesses on duty (overload) and neither seemed interested in the job. It just wasn't a very welcoming reception. They tried to seat us outside in the dark next to the parking lot though plenty of tables were open inside. We insisted on an indoor table and were accomodated. I think management is not on top of things. Staff needs better training and supervision to run a more efficient restaurant.
I had one of the rice bowls, and asked for half greens and half brown rice. There were a couple of forkfuls of greens and mountains of rice. The fish that came with the rice bowl was very tasty, fresh and moist. The Mai Tai was delicious (and very strong). As fish restaurant, it used to be much better, with entrees that actually featured fish that wasn't deep fried, but now, with the exception of the rice bowl, there aren't any fish dishes that feature fish in a simple way. Everything is seasoned in one way or another (except for the rice bowl with fish). It is tiresome to find the nothing is simple.
Love this place! The drinks are creative and delicious. The food is fresh and priced fairly. I am a frequent visitor for lunch and dinner. Can be a little noisy during happy hour, but they offer an outside patio which is still in a covered area and much quieter than inside the restaurant.
