Feast on ciabatta crust pizza and other Italian fare at Pace Restaurant. It has a rustic, yet romantic setting with warm lighting, exposed brick walls and artwork throughout. Owner and head chef Sandy Gendel uses fresh, organic ingredients picked from local farmer's markets to create tasty cuisine. Guests can start their course with shrimp scampi in a tomato stew with white beans and zucchini or a mixed greens salad topped with a citrus vinaigrette. Pace Restaurant has savory entrèes like cedar-wood grilled salmon with shallots and prime rib-eye presented in a bed of arugula with a choice of fulfilling sides. Pasta dishes such as rigatoni with homemade sausage and scrumptious desserts can also be found on the menu.
Pace Restaurant has a full bar that serves a variety of wine and beer. It has picnic packs and accepts reservations, even online, making it an ideal spot for date night.
Amazing Italian spot that serves top of the line authentic cuisine
Great food and ambience. Will head back again for the chocolate lava cake!
Amazing, great spot.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and there are candles everywhere. Very cozy and warm. Service is wonderful. However, the food is not so much. Among everything that was ordered, the snapper main dish was the best. In fact, the snapper was really good, but I couldn’t eat the other two plates we ordered.
Food was good but just average... nothing spectacular. Service felt like we were just another customer ...did not really engage. Would not go back.
Very cozy, very energetic, great neighborhood spot with yummy food. A little pricey on some items.
Pace delivers the goods. The food is delicious and presented beautifully.
Salmon on a cedar plank is so good. Wine list is xlnt too.
The service is very attentive and courteous. Can’t ask for more.
Also a great setting with a rich history to boot.
What a godsend this place must be to the Hollywood hill residents around laurel canyon. You can walk to it from the very top and a traditional Italian delight awaits at the bottom. Welcoming staff and unfussy tasty food. Everything fresh and good value. And no family style
Dining: order your food and you get to eat your own food :) love it!
Love it! Highly recommend it for a romantic dinner or with family and friends.
We had a wonderful dinner and the service was excellent. Love the ambiance and the pasta. The salmon was amazing too. I can't wait to go back.
Enjoyed it!
Always amazing.
Excellent as usual....Pace is one of my favorite spots!!!
Although the restaurant was very hard to find at first (apparently it's in the basement of a very rustic neighborhood grocery outlet in Laurel Canyon)....The proved to be worth the drive with and then credible ambience and original setting and decoration....The service was incredible and professional and the food was out of this world...very good value in the sense that I would've thought a restaurant like this would be $200 for a couple and it turned out to be only 110 after tip....it was unique and memorable for our anniversary nightI...i would definitely recommend the family and friends and can't wait to go again.
Wonderful restaurant
Consistently good with food and service
Our food, service and experience where excellent as always. One of the places for just an amazing twist on traditional Italian food.
Great all around!
This place offers a cool atmosphere and wonderful service! The food was very good as well, so the overall experience was a fun one
Birthday celebration!
Do it again
Fantastic restaurant - beautiful decor, great food, awesome service. It's my favorite restaurant.
My fave place. Love the cedar salmon, cheese platter, and soufflé. Tucked away gem in the hills.
I loved this restaurant but unfortunately our server was not very friendly and seemed like she didn't want to be there. She didn't smile once or make us feel welcomed. I even told her how excited I was to be back and she didn't say anything nice.
This was some of the best Italian food I have ever had. My father goes here ALL the time so I had to try it. It was sooooo tasty! The rigatoni alla salsiccia & peperoni arrostiti and it was to die for. You must go! The pizza looked amazing as well. My Hop Nosh IPA was only $6!!!!
I have been loving Pace for years and it has NEVER let me down. It's just an amazing restaurant. The management is first rate, the staff is friendly and perfect. The food is excellent! GO GO GO!
This is our local Laurel Canyon restaurant. While I have been going there for many years with different owners, it is still a nice place to have a decent dinner.
The food is ok, pricey to be honest, but the cozy environment and local make up for it.
I recommend stepping up your game on the food and offer more wine options of good value by the glass & bottle.
Very mediocre food, mediocre wine. Pasta was just ok. Ambience is nice. LA's Italian food scene has grown so much and now on point, Pace unfortunately has to step up to hang with all of them. You go to Pace I guess for the ambience. A suggestion... possibly get a new chef...
Doesn't feel good to pay so much money and not enjoy the food.
The restaurant is beautiful and worth going to for the ambience alone, but unfortunately that was where the "good" ends. The food was yummy, but no better than any other solid Italian spot in LA. My boyfriend and I both felt sick the next day and needed to take the day off work. The service was underwhelming and we were charged $7 for water, even though we requested tap. We were celebrating an anniversary, which was noted on the reservation but went unacknowledged, and felt like we were rushed out the door. Overall, it was a pretty mediocre experience.
Been here a bunch of times. This was the worst yet. Feels like there had been a change in ownership, it was that different and that disappointing. Never going back
Pace is always great. We have been here a few times and we are never disappointed. The food is great, service is perfect. We will be back!
When you see 'handmade pasta' on the menu, you order pasta. This was our big mistake. Four different pasta orders, all equally disappointing. A complete lack of cohesiveness in one (the special!), bad cheese choice for another, burnt/ dry sausage for the third and overall flavorlessness for the fourth plate. The table next to us ordered salmon and it looked much better. The server (only, the runners were great) didn't seem interested in interacting beyond taking our initial orders. The restaurant itself is charming and a lively scene but do not make up for the food or lack of service.
Enjoyed very much the food and the ambiance. Highly recommend. It is very noisey
Made a reservation for 7:15 and they sat us at 8
Pasta and clams were good except that they skimmed on the pasta! What for I have no idea, that's the cheapest thing to make! Overall not satisfied and would never come back
Weak and uninspired wine list, with laughable by the glass program, expensive mandatory valet, very loud, painfully bad art ... and food just above average. Why this place is so popular escapes me.
A highly delicious meal in a unique and special place! We appreciated being seated side-by-side even though it was quite busy due to a neighborhood event surrounding the area near the restaurant. Especially loved the brothy ravioli dish and it was so fun to see all the eclectic décor and colorful drawings people had created over the years posted on the walls.
They've become ridiculously expensive. The food is good....not awesome. Ordered the lobster special pasta. I saw no lobster, and for $32 for a plate of linguini, I certainly should have seen and tasted lobster!
Our two servers were fantastic! We come throughout the year from TO and always make sure to reserve a table at PACE. We highly reccomend to our friends as well. Food and wine list are great.... ambience is perfect! 👌🏼
Food and ambience were fine, pizza a little undercooked but not typically that way. Our server was very distant though. I had to prompt him to order drink, again to pace our order, again for the bill. The busboy did most of the work and I tipped him separately. Generally this place does a much better job.
Super loud, so you'll need to gear up for yelling at your friends just to communicate but otherwise a fun spot deep in the heart of old Laurel Cyn...you can just imagine Jim Morrison, Joni Mitchell and David Crosby sitting at the table beside you. Old-school yet au currant. Wonderful menu, great food and good wine list. No cocktails, though...which is a bit of a bummer.
