Comida deliciosa, súper recomendable, al reservar pedir mesa con vista al puente
We heard this was the best sushi ever but we were not overly impressed. Fresh and beautiful for sure. Good sushi but not the best ever for these Floridians.
Got seating with a great view of the Bay Bridge. Overall, good service, creativity in food presentation and energetic ambience.
Food was sub par for the price. Service was awful, waiter was inattentive -ambiance was not great either. Would expect more from a sushi restaurant in SF.
Great business lunch! Plan to make this one of my go to spots!!!
Great Food and ambience, but sushi is quite pricey.
The ratings speak for themselves. Won’t return...
Simplistic cuisine with impressive visual appeal and a tantalizing impact on the pallet! Not for the fainthearted wallet, but worth splurging on an unforgettable experience - cooking your own wagyu steak! Question is, can you handle that pressure?
Chocolate cake was excellent! Sushi was very creative
Service was very slow, especially for the prices. I have been to comparable places and have received much better service. Maybe it was an off day.
I've come here in the past and really enjoyed it; this time it was sub par.
Hamachi sashimi plate was not great. Salmon nigiri was wonderful.
We asked for house sake - we were directed t a list of sakes on the menu that could be poured "as house." without knowing it, we ordered an 80$ carafe of sake. Not exactly house sake. I didn't appreciate being misdirected on what I was ordering like that.
We celebrated a special birthday, and staff made every effort to ensure a wonderful and memorable evening.
Great view, authentic Japanese
The food is always good at Ozuma. The server was especially good this afternoon. Very knowledgeable and on top of everything. Really flawless service
Food was very overpriced.
Great for business meetings.
Had a great meal. The black cod was tremendous. Service was attentive and extremely polite. Will definitely be back.
Always enjoy Ozumo. Good cocktails, great food.
My wife and I needed a date and we both thought of Ozumo. The food was excellent and our server was very friendly. We spent $200, including tip, cocktail, sushi, appetizer, small plates and dessert. Our entree was the black cod which was very tender, melting in our mouths. My wife especially loved the rice pudding dessert. Our seat had a great view of the Bay Bridge and it was lit with its dancing lights. Expect to spend $50-$75/person for a unique foodie experience in SF. Will return, but probably next year or really special occasion.
Very nice restaurant! Our waiter was spectacular! Thank you for an amazing experience!
Service is a bit on the slower side during weekday lunches.
This is and has been one of my go-to sushi spots in SF. Always amazing food. Drinks are creative and good. Decor is very relaxing.
The experience at this restaurant is great. Very good taste
Amazing sushi experience through and through. The staff is superior in their friendliness and go out of their way to make your visit feel comfortable. Their knowledge of the sake list helped us pick an excellent bottle of Kubota Yamahai for a sweet pairing to our sushi. Their available sushi menu is wide and delicious with options not normally afforded. For my main meal I had Shacho, lobster, mango, and jalapeno which had a wonderful combination of sweet, spicy, and savory as well as an appealing presentation. Our waiter, Ken, was an excellent host and made our experience so much more than just a meal. He also brought out some sushi I had not before tried and their Monkfish is now a new favorite of mine.
We were late to our original reservation on Valentine’s Day, but they were extremely accommodating & were able to find us another table. This location is a little difficult to get to during commuting hours, so plan accordingly. The space was beautiful & had a romantic ambiance.
The food was, of course, delicious but was pricey for the amount of food you get. You may leave feeling just right or still hungry. The sake was my favorite part because of the large variety they offer. Take your server’s recommendation if you’re unsure.
Overall, I would only go here for a special occasion because of the price. If you go here, I’m confident you can’t go wrong with anything you choose off the menu. Just expect the portions to be small and the price to be big.
What we ordered - dinner for 2 for ~$200 with tip:
- Nishida, denshu
- Hanabi, osusume
- Gyu, ippin-mono
- Ozumo, maki-mono
- Chocolate fondue
This is a very large restaurant. A whole block deep from Steuart Street to the Embarcadero. Beautifully and expensively designed. I wonder how many people they have on staff preparing and serving the food and drinks. It must be quite a large number of people.
Great food, quite expensive.
The quality of the food was much lower than all the many other times I’ve been there. The prices have gone up significantly!
Service was excellent. Food was very well prepared and nice presentation. Our server was spot on with recommendations.
We were leaving San Francisco and we wanted a place to remember ! It was great ! Wonderful food, beautiful sunset through the windows. It will sure be a night to remember. We loved it
Years ago, I went to Ozumo relatively frequently and always loved it. Returned with my husband for a special occasion and was quite disappointed. Found the food to be average/overpriced for the quality and portions as compared with other SF favorite sushi bars. Service was unfriendly and very disappointing overall. Had to ask for chopsticks and a plate 3 times (no apology). Given the price point here, my expectations for both the quality of sushi and service were much, much higher. We will not return.
Great sushi! Nice selection and really well prepared menu. Excellent location. A little pricey, but worth it to treat yourself.
Great experience! Loved the chef’s choice moriawase sushi and sake flights, but the gindara cod was our favorite! The service was excellent and our waiter had fantastic recommendations. The only downside is the whole meal was definitely overpriced. It would be a good spot to go on someone else’s dime, like a nice business meal.
Would love to go back and try their omakase menu; we didn’t have enough time (2.5 hours) for that experience.
Very welcoming staff and inviting restaurant.
The quality of Sushi was not very good for the price.
Beautiful interior. Gorgeous food presentations and quality. Only negative - erratic service, which is ok if the diner is not on a time schedule.
I haven't been dining in the City as much lately, so I was excited to come to Ozumo for lunch. Good to see they have maintained their focus on high quality, beautifully-presented items. The tables are fairly widely separated, which makes for a nice Japanese design aesthetic. We got the seaweed salad (even that was beautiful, featuring pickled daikon and 3 types of seaweed, including a burgundy colored one) and a hamachi belly appetizer with radishes and jalapenos. Those were fantastic. Then we had a second course where we split the "Wagyu beef sashimi" (tender, moist, delicious), toro tuna sampler (also delicious), and a small, perfectly done portion of miso-cooked black cod that was the standout of the trio. My friend was still hungry, so we added a couple more sushi orders that were fine but unnecessary IMO. The best part: My friend was paying with the corporate card so I didn't have to see the bill!
Great time had by all.
Table was ready when we arrived.
Bartender poured great tasting drinks.
Great food! Black Cod is a must do.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Our experience was great. The food was delicious, the view is beautiful too. At first, our waiter was slow to come, but the manager was walking around and immediately saw us not getting taken care of and she turned our experience around 180 degrees. She made food recommendations and we loved everything so much that we also had dessert, which we never do. She even brought us an extra dessert to try which was even better than what we chose. We left very happy. Overall I think the restaurant is great. The waiter who served us definitely needs to be trained that when you have this many tables you have to move faster to keep up, I’m not sure if he is inexperienced or was just having a tough day, but we didn’t even learn his name. But other waiters seemed to be quick and with the manager saving the day for us it was definitely a great experience.
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at this restaurant last year and they came through at the time as well. Service at the time was fantastic by the way, they were just wonderful. And we still get compliments on the food from our guests. So when we were in town again it was a no brainer of where to go eat. It’s a neat place. We will definitely be back for more!
I was recommended this place as one of best places for Sushi. To be clear, I like sushi but I seem to like it from less posh places. So maybe I just don't know what good sushi is, or I have terrible taste. This one was good, but not necessarily better than I what I use to have (just a place near work in which you eat for $14 or so), and 3x the price.
Service was excellent though, as I liked that it was really quiet inside.
Food: Average Sushi and service. Nice bar. When you have reservation, they try to get additional $$ by letting you artificially wait at at the bar even if there are free tables in the back.
