Waitress was very Blah. Didn’t converse much, took forever to come and get order and food took even longer to get to table. Food was amazing but the portions too small especially for the price. We ordered hot sake and she brought a carafe to pour the sake into another carafe to heat it up, not telling us that the initial carafe was cold, so the first shot was a tasteless disappointment.
After all that we get the bill and there’s a SF Ordinance tax. I ask about it and the manager comes over to tell us that they are responsible to covers their workers health insurance and that is what that tax is for. Now I’m new to the area but it seems ridiculous to charge $350 for two and then charge me a tax to pay your workers insurance. It’s like a doctor charging her patients for her nurses health care. Definitely NOT cool.
Terrible. Really bad on all counts. Avoid. .......
I met my 3 friends there for dinner. I waited in the bar until they arrived and ordered a Sancerre (not on the wine menu by the glass, but he did have it and I was glad). I paid $23 for the glass ($27 after tip)...by the way, my husband owns a winery and this is extremely overpriced for Sancerre. Another friend arrives and she orders the same thing..,again $23 for the glass. We are seated and order another glass each OF THE SAME WINE, and we’re charged $20/per glass. Something is very off in the bar area. Either the bartenders are charging up and pocketing the extra $, or they have a disconnect with the servers in the dining room. Overall the service in the dining room was good, as well as the food. But for a wine list that is lacking some great vino choices, they’re overcharging (a glass of Sancerre should be around $16, by the way...). I will be back, but i’ll Never order a drink in the bar again.
Good sushi for good price. But not great
Top sushi and Japanese food restaurant. A+ grade sushi and beef. Atmosphere is excellent for business and quaint dining.
Was a great way to end a wonderful day. Our server was great. The manager was terrifiec
I will be back
Menu options are overpriced. Sushi is decent, but nothing extraordinary.
Excellent place and attention.
The wine card is also great.
Sushi was fresh and good but I didn’t love it.
Price was higher than expected.
We sat at the sushi bar and got special treats from the sushi chef, as well as recommendations on what was fresh that day. It made our experience very special.
Trendy japanese restaurant with very good food in SFO.
Our third time here and we continue to be impressed. Outstanding service, food and ambiance. Tonight we tried the special scallop. It was outstanding. No better place for sushi in SF.
The staff was friendly, the service was prompt and the food was super fresh. It's always a treat every time I visit.
Having walked by Ozumo many times on our way to the Embarcadero YMCA we finally decided to give it a try. We have very high standards for sushi and the sushi here did not disappoint. Fish was fresh, artfully prepared. Good wine and beer selection. Huge space with room between tables for a change. Nice ambiance, not too noisy and fantastic views of the Bay Bridge.
Great ambiance and service. The view of the bay lights is magical and the hamachi appetizer along with everything else delicious, garlic edamame, and cod!
Love the food and the people who work there. Black cod is amazing.
Celebrating a friend moving toSan Francisco and this was a great pick!!! Wonderful service and fantastic food!!
Comida deliciosa, súper recomendable, al reservar pedir mesa con vista al puente
Excellent food, aesthetically attractive, mediocre service, expensive.
Great Japanese find off Howard st near the piers in San Francisco. Very tasty and filling sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki, shrimp. Great wine list. Very nice feel to the place with funky furniture and a big open sushi kitchen to view while waiting. Well recommended.
Sushi was beautifully presented and delicious. Oysters were among the best I have ever had and were presented in such a beautiful manner. The restaurant has a great vibe + energy.
We have eaten at Ozumo for 12+ years when visiting SF. This meal was by far the most disappointing and unfortunately pretty expensive. The fish on the nigiri was clearly frozen as it was without flavor and quite wet. The carpaccio portions of fish on the nigiri were embarrassing and Ozumo should be ashamed of the price per piece. I ordered a carafe of saki that was half a full bottle yet was charged nearly the price of a full bottle. The bill was 4 times what we pay on the SF Peninsula where we enjoy markedly better sushi and reasonable drink prices. Ozumo undoubtedly pays a lot in rent for its location and in my opinion the location/view is its primary attraction. We will not be returning to this over-priced, low quality restaurant.
We heard this was the best sushi ever but we were not overly impressed. Fresh and beautiful for sure. Good sushi but not the best ever for these Floridians.
Got seating with a great view of the Bay Bridge. Overall, good service, creativity in food presentation and energetic ambience.
Food was sub par for the price. Service was awful, waiter was inattentive -ambiance was not great either. Would expect more from a sushi restaurant in SF.
Great business lunch! Plan to make this one of my go to spots!!!
Great Food and ambience, but sushi is quite pricey.
The ratings speak for themselves. Won’t return...
Simplistic cuisine with impressive visual appeal and a tantalizing impact on the pallet! Not for the fainthearted wallet, but worth splurging on an unforgettable experience - cooking your own wagyu steak! Question is, can you handle that pressure?
Chocolate cake was excellent! Sushi was very creative
Service was very slow, especially for the prices. I have been to comparable places and have received much better service. Maybe it was an off day.
I've come here in the past and really enjoyed it; this time it was sub par.
Hamachi sashimi plate was not great. Salmon nigiri was wonderful.
We asked for house sake - we were directed t a list of sakes on the menu that could be poured "as house." without knowing it, we ordered an 80$ carafe of sake. Not exactly house sake. I didn't appreciate being misdirected on what I was ordering like that.
We celebrated a special birthday, and staff made every effort to ensure a wonderful and memorable evening.
Great view, authentic Japanese
The food is always good at Ozuma. The server was especially good this afternoon. Very knowledgeable and on top of everything. Really flawless service
Food was very overpriced.
Great for business meetings.
Had a great meal. The black cod was tremendous. Service was attentive and extremely polite. Will definitely be back.
Always enjoy Ozumo. Good cocktails, great food.
My wife and I needed a date and we both thought of Ozumo. The food was excellent and our server was very friendly. We spent $200, including tip, cocktail, sushi, appetizer, small plates and dessert. Our entree was the black cod which was very tender, melting in our mouths. My wife especially loved the rice pudding dessert. Our seat had a great view of the Bay Bridge and it was lit with its dancing lights. Expect to spend $50-$75/person for a unique foodie experience in SF. Will return, but probably next year or really special occasion.
Very nice restaurant! Our waiter was spectacular! Thank you for an amazing experience!
