It was great! From the time we walked in to when we left was friendly excellent service. The food was great. Our waitress was very helpful and sweet. The manager felt like we’ve know each other for years. Will definitely be coming back again and again.

We had a great time. We had a late reservation so that may have been a factor I in our server. He wasn't bad...he just seemed a little disinterested. Did not tell us about specials or ask if we wanted to hear them. The food was amazing! And beautiful! The bar is a bit loud but the dining room is more subdued.

Great food and experience. A table at the front entrance seems more fun. It doesn't carry out to the back. But don't let this stop you from exploring the restaurant

Well very expensive for little return. What I spent that night for two people on top of a parking ticket at $84 I could of entertained at least five more folks at other sushi places.

There was no value, the 4 of us ordered 2 rolls each and shared 2 appetizers with 2 drinks. How that comes to be $400 blows my mind. This place is very overpriced, portions are on the small side and the service was horrible. We were constantly waiting on something and drinks took forever. I would not come back.

We really enjoyed dining at this restaurant. The handcrafted cocktails are very unique - except for the Double Barrel. When served Up (versus on the rocks), it is simply a standard Manhattan.

I can't pass up a good tartare, so we started with the Dohyo Osusume, which was spectacular. A great nuance of citrus from the ponzu and a light hint of spiciness from the wasabi oil.
Also, the Shacho Makimono was inspired! I love mango, but didn't know it would be so good with lobster and cilantro. The spicy sesame aoli is a good addition.

The skin of the Umami Duck Breast is a little chewy for my tastes, and I'd have rather it not been there at all. The flavors were there - especially in those scrumptious wasabi pureed potatoes.

The Fondue desert was good overall, but the accompaniments for dipping were standard. The matcha cake is really dry, as are the cookies (extra dry).

The service was very professional and courteous. The ambiance was perfect - not too loud, not too quiet.

Prior to each trip to San Francsico I do lots of research on restaurants. I want to know what's new, hot, fun, lost it's touch, etc. The city has an amazing number of excellent dinning options.
Ozumo is not one of them. We had the "8" course dinner. Ok - it's pricey - we knew this, But even though each dish was beautifully presented, everything tasted similar and the plates were very very tiny.

Two 8 course meals, one bottle sake(delicious) one martini, one additional glass saki, plus plus plus taxes $426 plus tip. Way too pricey for what you get. Find another spot for Japanese.

The food was delicious, fresh, exquisitely flavoured & beautifully served; the wait staff were attentive, knowledgable & not one hint of snooty. I would eat here every week if I could afford to. It’s an experience not to be missed. Very special place.

Delicious food at a big price. Made a reservation but didn't specify a window table so I was told so sorry. The food was delicious but really expensive. Probably $100 per person with a couple drinks each no including tip. We probably won't go again since SF has such great selections.

I heard raving reviews, so I was looking forward to our lunch there. The ambiance is very nice, the hostesses were super friendly. The food was just good, though for the price, I think I could find better sushi elsewhere. Our server was nice enough, but even though the restaurant looked almost empty, we waited a fairly long time each time we wanted to order (drinks, food, more drinks, etc). He seemed alright, so I'm not sure if they were understaffed or something. Our food also came out really slowly. I actually had to reschedule a meeting because we were at the restaurant for two hours. It worked out ok, but if you are pressed for time at all, I wouldn't recommend it.

I celebrated my birthday at Ozumo on the evening of Tuesday, October 17th and had an amazing time. The service was great and the manager was extremely welcoming and made my evening all the more special, by being attentive, thoughtful and also providing birthday sake and dessert. The food was also amazing....I highly recommend the toro tuna belly sashimi. It’s worth the splurge and will not disappoint. Thank you for such a wonderful night!

I ordered a Bucho roll and the chocolate cake dessert. The roll was stale - both the rice and the tempura shrimp tasted like they'd been sitting out for a while, or possibly even saved from a previous day. My sushi roll should never be difficult to chew. For $18, I at least expected the roll to be edible. I would've told the waiter, but he never bothered to come around and ask how the food tasted. Visually, this is a nice spot but is a very poor value for food and service.

Nice restaurant but not spacious, quite narrow and easily gets crowded because of the small space. Food quality was very good, but quite small portions for the steep price. Even the size of the sushi rolls are smaller than average in other similar restaurants. Service on our table was just average, nothing special. I don't look forward to returning because there are other similar restaurants that have equally good quality food for not so steep prices and with more better portions. So I cant really say that I got good value for what I paid.

I love the Happy Hour at Ozumo -- great food options, amazing Sake, beer and wine choices. On this occasion we took a business colleague out for a nice meal. The waiter was fantastic, very thoughtful and made excellent recommendations. We tried several of the specials and one in particular was not to my liking (in fact only one of the three of us enjoyed it), it was the Orange Beef. The sushi rolls melted in our mouths and the Black Cod was to die for - perfectly cooked and the sauce was delectable.
I also recommend Ozumo for lunch where the menu includes modest options as well as the more decadent choices.

All of our food items were good but very pricey which is not usually a criteria for any restaurant I visit, but when your service is as bad as we experienced the food had to go a long way to compensate. It did not. We practically bused our own table. Dirty plays were only removed upon request. Cocktails took forever and arrived after our first course had been delivered. A request for ponzu was ignored and I finally went to the sushi bar to get it after waiting twenty minutes and asking three different people. Either they didn't understand or just didn't care. After presenting us with a $750 bill (yes that's right) for some basic sushi, tempura, edamame, two beers, and three sake flights I registered my complaint with management and left vowing never to return. San Francisco has too many great options for dining. This establishment isn't worth your time or money. After I visited I read several other reviews that voiced similar complaints. All restaurants have a bad night now and then but it seems that this one has developed a habit of it.

Udon noodles in beef broth with tempura shrimp and vegetables the equal of what I had in Kyoto some time ago. Green tea ice cream a crisp finish. Wrappers on the gyoza a bit tough. Excellent service. NB: In my experience, lunch at Ozumo provides a better dining experience than dinner.
