   Quaint little nook of a place. Food was great, service was prompt. The only thing I didn't like was that it was very loud. People were loud and music too. Even though it looks like it would be a nice quiet place to have a nice convo, the night we went was not the case. Not something they can control but maybe if the music volume was brought down, the people would quiet down as well. Overall though, it was a great supper and I would go back.

   Service and atmosphere was great. Restaurant was quiet. I had the soup and risotto. Soup could have had a bit more flavour (salt maybe?), and was a bit spicy for a cauliflower garlic soup. Risotto was delicious! Everyone in our party really enjoyed their meal.

   Very quaint and warm atmosphere. Feels like you are away from it all. Very friendly service. Very accommodating for vegans. Left feeling a warm and delicious experience. Highly recommend!

   Let’s start with the good: our appetizers were both fantastic. I had the Nordic shrimp my partner had the beet and pear salad. Both were top-notch. The mains however didn’t fare nearly as well. The seared trout had good flavours with only the inkling of being cooked. Cornish hen was nicely done at the accompanying vegetables and gratin could have used more oomph. The service started out strong however began to deteriorate throughout the meal. We sat for 20+ minutes after completing our mains without a single check in by any staff. If we had better service that was consistent throughout the experience I’d be able to rate the OZ Kafe better

   Wow! For only ordering off of the "top half" of the menu (apps and charcuterie + dessert) we left so full and satisfied. The pear and beets, beef carpaccio and risotto are out of this world!!! Louis was the perfect amount of attentive. It was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. Wicked music Playlist too!

    Intimate and cozy seating in a beautiful, heritage building with exposed stone walls and wood beams. Service was attentive and personable with slightly awkward interruptions. Mains awkwardly arrived in the midst of the appetizers and one of the mains was not cooked to the desired temperature so it had to be sent back for more cooking. Plates were beautiful and delicious. The dance of smooth and great service and timing with the kitchen require a some refinement to take it further to make it a great experience. Felt the music was a little out of place (Michael Jackson’s “Beat it” and “Thriller”), inconsistent with the look and the feel of the place and the distinctly European menu of the restaurant.

    Lovely little space in the Byward market albeit a little hard to find in a quiet courtyard. Fantastic service by friendly staff, and amazing good. My first visit and I will return next time I'm in town.

    My absolute favourite place in the market. The bar is my happy place with comfortable stools and an intimate vibe. The bartender is living theatre offering a multi sensory experience. Innovative and surprising cocktails are tempting but I tend to go back to my faves. I haven't even started to talk about the food...silky soups, delightful charcuterie and rewarding desserts.

    Fabulous experience as always. The charcuterie is by far one of my favourites of all time, as is the steak. The desserts are also excellent. Highly recommend a visit!

    Louis, our server was fantastic. Told us his life story which we loved and made sure we had a romantic evening. The only downside is the door that opens, a little cool wind came in! Otherwise my Malbec was fantastic to the 3 appetizers we had. And they will respect allergies and intolerances. Highly recommend a date night outing.

    Need to ensure windows are properly closed in winter as the draft was awful where I was sitting. As a lighting designer you could have used my or someone with my skills - lighting was bad; a number of people were using phones to read menu

    Food and cocktails are so very good. Recently went for charcuterie on Sunday and definitely great value for taste. Gotta be careful with that chocolate trifle as it decadent; you will have a sugar headache. Server and bartender were very overwhelmed. It took 20-30min for my next drink to arrive. I probably could have had 2-3 more drinks if it didn't take so long. Will be returning, but with a different game plan.

    We were very excited about this reservation and booked it from our home in Vancouver as we planned our vacation to Ottawa and Tremblant. Although the night needed to be canceled due to the unprecedented events occurring in Ottawa this last month, we remain committed to supporting this restaurant for all it stands for. Great food, a sustainable culture and respect given to its staff and patrons. Stay well and we look forward to dining at this hidden gem once the City gets its groove back. A

    Food was delicious, service was prompt. The food was worth the higher prices. They could maybe improve their house cocktails, there isn’t much that interested me. Otherwise, everything else was perfect! Will definitely be going back.

    Oz Kafe is my go-to when I want great food and solid service - which is often! It's a beautiful space in a tucked-away heritage building, with lovely staff. The food menu is exacting but has something for everyone. The wine list is well-curated, the cocktails are outstanding, and the beer list is extensive with greatest hits and unique finds. Not to be missed!

    Oz Kafe is my new favorite spot! A little restaurant neatly tucked in the Byward Market. The intimate ambiance, friendly staff, delicious good and GREAT music selection is something to rave about. Looking forward to going back!
