This wasn't my first time at Oydis. Up until this point, I had always enjoyed my experience dining here. However, this time I was truly disappointed. The music was too loud that the server was almost shouting while telling us what the specials of the day was. When I asked if she could turn down the music just a little bit, because I couldn't hear her, she made a face and went and told the girl at the bar to lower the music (also made a face saying this). The music was lowered probably 1 down. I'm usually quite happy with how energetic and vibrant Oydis is, and they have good music selection but this time round, the music wasn't enjoyable because it was just too loud. When we wanted to order some drinks, we were told all Pinot (red wine) weren't available. Which is a shame because I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a few glasses of red. Ok, no big deal. Was really looking forward to their cheese platter. Was told it was sold out too because they had a busy weekend. Ended up just getting the fish and beef pan roll. Wasn't good as it usually is. The rolls were a bit over baked/fried. Fish was too sour. Was looking for the owner to give some feedback, but he wasn't around. I was eager to introduce my overseas guest to Oydis, to celebrate my birthday. Left feeling disappointed.

We loved the cocktails, especially the spicy watermelon margarita, flavourful food and warming atmosphere. A local bar in Ashburton that always pleases.

Oydis was great I had dinner here with my son prior to him departing for QLD Food and service was great Realy interesting menu Place was busy with most of the booths and bar section full They had a football special on so dance floor was set up in the adjoining room with loud music which made it hard to chat Would I go again, of course

Oydis Bar has a sophisticated vibe with great soothing ambience. Candlelit tables are a winner and low lighting is calming. Music level not too loud so conversation can be had. Current staff are incredibly professional and attentive but not interruptive. Small serve dishes are very tasty and go well with the quality cocktails served.

Great location for lovely cocktails complemented with tasty food options. Facilities, atmosphere, and setting really nice. Will be back!
