Good was great. Very generous and fresh. Loved it
Very creative and flavors complimented each other well
Had the Restaurant Week Special lunch. I was great. Good selection and excellent service.
Great restaurant week menu! Can’t wait to go back for the regular menu. Only downside is that it was freezing in the restaurant- many kept their jackets or hats on. Employees were wearing down jackets and vests as well.
FANTASTIC FOOD!!!! 5 stars- get the braised beef taco! And the salt foam marg (Oyamel!)
Fantastic meal. Everything was delicious and we had excellent service. Highly recommend.
Oyamel is always a treat - we dine there a couple times a year and they never disappoint! Interesting menu options, clever and delightful cocktails and service on point.
I went for a dinner and was looking forward to enjoying the food and the ambiance. The food was good, and I appreciated having the chips. I didn’t find the place cozy. Unfortunately it was cold inside, but I appreciated that we were given another table. If you like simple things and don’t mind about details, it will certainly be a good place for you. However, if you are picky and like cozy places, it might not be a good fit for you.
Its reputation is deserved. The food in restaurant week was the best of 3 new restaurants I tried that week. Portions were too large if anything.
Food was delicious, and the service was fantastic.
Fabulous all around! Delicious food, fantastic service. Truly a delightful dining experience.
Just a wonderful experience from service to food. Unexpectedly went during restaurant week and benefited from the $40 menu.
portions are small, so if you adult male with an appetite, don't come here hungry.
We went during Restaurant Week and the amount of food was well worth the $40! The food was great. Our server was accommodating my gluten sensitivities and went out of her way to bring me a menu with notes on what could be slightly modified or what had cross contamination! I didn’t even ask for it so it was very kind.
Our party of 3 came to Oyamel for restaurant week and had a great time! The food and service was awesome and the value was unbeatable. Very versatile menu, great for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
Good service, great margaritas! The food was wonderful
The 5 course meal for Restaraunt Week was a great value at 40 dollars. Service was great and overall my experience was outstanding
Our table was near the door so it was a little chilly/breezy when people came in and out. Service, food and drinks were all FABULOUS!
Fantastic food, great service. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great place to eat in the center of DC
Excelent! Always it’s a pleasure
The service was timely, friendly and informative.
The food was excellent.
They are doing the best they can given the circumstances but the DC vaccination card requirement is a joke. The mandate is scientifically ignorant. It does nothing to slow the rate of Omicron and every medical and life science professional knows it. It only hurst restaurants and patrons.
The food was excellent and our server was more than happy to provide recommendations. Best margarita I have ever had. Highly recommend the fish taco and the ceviche was outstanding. Will definitely be back.
The drinks and food were delicious. I was happy they were checking vaccine cards. Our waiter was very nice and professional and the ambience is fun. Amazing ceviche and Brussels sprouts!
Absolutely the best margaritas anywhere. Guacamole and food really can't be beat, especially for the price point. Service was a little distracted (but may just be the new normal during COVID) and the restaurant was quite cold (we were inside!) were the only downsides.
Great food, good service, busy and a bit noisy but overall very good. I will be back.
Food, decor, service--wonderful. Restaurant was very cold as I had to wear my hat and coat during our meal. Food not hot enough but the best Mexican food I've ever had in this region. Will return when the weather is milder. A bit too hasty picking up plates from our table. I assume preparing for the evening rush.
Food was meh! And the service was slow. Not sure how they have a Michelin star.
Food was amazing service was outstanding
Eat the pulpo
Wonderful, warm outdoor dining -- even in subzero temps!
Excellent dinner. Food and service were great. The sweet potato dish and the shrimp dish were the best.
Went with family before a professional basketball game - good food and good value, with very good service.
Some of the slowest, worse service I have ever received. I would not recommend this overpriced restaurant. It’s riding on questionable “good review” and José Andrés’ name. We ordered the Chef’s Selection experience and the dishes were a hit or miss. I would not return or recommend.
Everything was perfect. Food and service
Loved every dish, especially tacos and beet salad,
A restaurant well past it’s prime. Some dishes are good (guacamole) but mostly the food seems phoned in. Add tables pushed so closely together that servers can’t get through and you’ve basically got a touristy food mill.
This was a delightful, and surprisingly affordable meal. We tried all of the tacos - which were spectacular - and family favorites there were the beef, pork and fish in that order. This is deceptive, because the fish taco was the best I've ever had (previous winner was outside of San Diego), it's just the others were simply That Good. The complexity of flavors and the variety of options was really pleasant.
Another favorite was the quesadillas, they were simply perfect. And the tres leches dessert is one of the best mouthfuls of food I've ever had.
Overall, a great dinner, a truly unique culinary experience, and we will be coming back. Definitely in the top five meals of my life for me... would highly recommend.
Every time I’m in DC, I make it a point to eat here. I love this place and have for years.
