coronavirus and to help encourage social distancing to stop its spread, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close. More details available on our website.

My wife’s birthday, but the dinner never happened because the restaurant was closed. The restaurant never informed me that it would be closed. Drove down to the restaurant and saw it for my own eyes. No notification of this ahead of time. I should have received something from the restaurant related to this. Totally disappointed that no one reached out.
Food is excellent and the Oyamel margaritas are the best
Not as good as we were expecting. This place is very overrated. The staff was excellent, the service was good and fast, we were in and out within an hour. The food was very tiny portions, but our waiter did tell us from the beginning. The food also wasn’t great. Beautiful set up of the food. The restaurant was very welcoming and had a great atmosphere. Again, great service, but we will not be returning.
This was our first visit to oyamel. We made an early dinner reservation after walking the city all day. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived but staff attempted to seat us at a table overlapping a door, a high traffic area.
When we finally settled at a different table, we were soon surrounded by others.....no social distancing was considered.
We started with the classic margarita. It was excellent; not too tart and not too sweet.
We shared 4 different dishes and all were good, but the classic ceviche was outstanding. It was beautifully presented and delicious.
The guacamole was very good and made to order. The queso fundito was ok. We should have included the chorizo option. The tamal de mole was very good.
The service was rushed. It felt like they wanted to turn over the table as soon as possible despite the fact it was not very busy.
Overall, the food was very good but the treatment of patrons was less so.
Reliably good food, excellent wait staff. We like to support Jose Andres.
The food was everything we desired! There was a remarkable variety and so much of it could be served gluten-free. My adventurous pallet love the grasshopper tacos and serrano margarita, while my dad enjoyed the simpler pork tacos and chicken enchiladas well. Making all of it gluten-free so we could share made my birthday much better.
But we were forgotten for just as remarkably a long time after our meal and unable to get any attention. Another round of drinks and perhaps even another round of food would have been a smash hit, but instead we just waited. Disappointing, especially given it was my birthday, that we didn't make more of it.
Guacamole mild is extremely fresh and delicious. Some of the best chips ever. Cesar salad was perfectly sized and tasted great. Service was outstanding.
Always delicious! Don’t miss the Brussels sprouts or the pork belly quesadilla.
Great food, great service, and AMAZING drinks. Awesome atmosphere. A little expensive, but overall great experience.
Good place with high quality food. Energy level was good but not too loud. Nice for a business meeting.
Excellent in every way!
Food and service were great. Noise level a little high due to the Caps game that night
We looked forward to our lunch at Oyamel, and we were not disappointed. Even though it was the lunch hour rush, service was excellent as was the food. We look forward to dining at Oyamel again soon.
Wonderful sophisticated cuisine and attentive service. The ceviches are outstanding.
As always, food couldn’t be better! And service?? It deserves the 5 stars! Thank you! And thank you José Andres for everything you do to help those in need and at the same time provide us, your customers, with excellent food and service!!
Good drinks, Good food, Great service. Very impressed with the timeliness of the food. Kudos to the manager. He was attentive, and very helpful.
The food was a bit underwhelming. This restaurant came highly recommended. The vibe at the restaurant is great but the food just wasn’t memorable. Really nothing out of the ordinary. My wife had been before and she was disappointed on her second visit here. We ordered a variety of dishes and they were all average at best.
Tapas were excellent and so was guacamole bowl. Noise level high and the booth table for five people quite crowded
Great innovative Mexican. Very very busy. Noise level to go with it!
By far, the best Mexican restaurant in town
They were running late on reservations. Seating was great - near a window, but getting to the seats was a tight squeeze between customers sitting at other tables.
Waitress was not so great in the beginning but got better as the night went on.
Food was AMAZING
Table was not available until 15 or 20 minutes after reservation. This caused stress as we had theatre tickets. Staff apologized and gave us free margaritas (not helpful for staying awake at theatre) and our server helped move things along, but next time I'll leave more time. Food was fine and reasonably priced.
Margaritas are the best, guacamole is excellent. The dishes were hit and miss. I enjoyed my potatoes in mole and the shrimp. My wife was disappointed with her chicken tamale in mole and the chilaquiles were very heavy- all cheese and little else. Many better choices but you would hope for better dishes than these.
Your staff treated me and my friend like we were at a resort. I work down the street, so I will be back!
I had a wonderful experience here, I came with an old friend and absolutely love the experience. Try AS MUCH as possible.
Excellent food. Very original dishes. Also did a Mezcal flight which was great. Great ambiance . Enjoyed it very much
Had the lunch 3-course menu options for $20 bucks, great value for food and perfect size for lunchtime. The chips and dip they serve you immediately was delicious, though I wouldn’t opt next time to have the guacamole to start for $15. A bit pricy. Love the ambience and decorations, and not too busy or loud for a relaxing lunch meeting.
Had a delicious dinner at Oyamel on Sunday night. The service was good, quick and friendly. Food came promptly and was excellent. Third time we have eaten dinner at Oyamel and was good each time. Only down side is it is a little noisy.
