Oxford House Tavern
Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Food was very good and tasteful. Presentation of food was nice. Only downfall was table behind us with children that had no boundaries.
This new Owner has The Oxford House Tavern THE BEST it has been in ver 40 years!!!!!
We had a wonderful lunch at the Oxford House Tavern. A beautiful bar and dining room area, we love the look. The food was amazing, we each had the lobster roll ,
It was big, had to take the rest home. Gregory was a delightful server and did a wonderful job. We highly recommend.
Was very pleased to see the portions. The food was absolutely outstanding. I had the swordfish special. My wife had the Ahi Tuna, cooked perfectly. The building is a charming colonial,
Ambiance is beautiful. Our server was Jordan and she was awesome! Excellent food and service . Would give them 6 stars if I could.
Great service . Food good. Few mistakes by the kitchen overall good meal .
It was fine. It looks and feels like many locals’ local... and a terrific one at that. For us, it was a pit stop on a road trip, and better than most. Not worth a special drive, but fine. Portions are huge.
Great food great service as usual. We have never had a bad experience.
Ribs are excellent, tends to be a little noisy since bar area is not isolated from upper dining area.
Always a great experience here. We love the food and the service is on point.
Probably won't go back. Had swordfish special. It was mostly overdone and chewy except right in the middle. The topping was bland. Gave me wrong side. with meal. Didn't bring any bread until I asked when meal came. Service was slow and inattentive. Flatbread was good though.
We love the newly renovated space and the food is terrific. Highly recommend the pierogis as an app-caramelized onions and bacon bits create a savory treat. One order is enough for 2 to share. Love she shrimp skewer and the chicken Marsala is truly excellent. Highly recommend!
Waitress was welcoming and attentive, great service. Food and drinks great as well! I’ve been coming here since the reopening last summer.
Very good choice for a beverage or a meal. Food is very good, responsive service all in a British pub like atmosphere. Worth the visit.
We always enjoy our dinner and the service is what is exceptional.
Your staff couldn’t be more accommodating. The food could get a higher rating (in my opinion) if the food were more consistent.
It’s the temperature that sometimes disappoints me. Burgers over cooked, Sides cool rather than hot.
I hope this is constructive and would not wish to complain, we will be back!
We had a great night out fr our Anniversary. Our server was great -very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the glasses of champagne at the end was a perfect ending to our night!
Great service great food.
Always a good experience
The food was great! I really enjoyed my meal. My friend and I split a bunch of appetizers. We enjoyed them all.
Loved the place. Wait staff was very personable. Food excellent and plentiful Booked a party there in May for our 50th anniversary. Looks forward to going back there
Food was tasty, had obviously been prepared with care and was reasonably priced. The room was country tavern comfortable and not noisy, which is a problem in many restaurants these days.
The one negative was that the person who seated us, a couple on a date, offered us a table in a dark, crowded corner. When I objected, we were seated at a quiet table by a window.
Went there first time tried to order prime rib special all sold out at 730. Then to make matters worse it took almost an hour to get our appetizer. Heard others in the room complaining as well. Noise level was on the high side at first as people left died down some. The food and drinks we ordered were good as was our waitress. Was just a shame we had to wait such a long time for appetizer then our meal. Would of been nice to have had some bread and butter or something to munch on while we waited. I will try this place one more time to see what happens
Portions were good, I liked my stuffed sole but my daughter said her chicken was rubbery in the pasta alla vodka. My husband liked his steak a lot. The snickers pie was excellent .
Generally good. Will try something more adventurous than the hamburger next time!
Fast becoming a favorite!
Everything was fantastic the food the service but we were next to a family that was very loud, I know that it is a family restaurant but they were out of control, Thank you I will be back again
Wow what a GREAT spot! Lovely ambiance, comfortable and cozy. Food was AMAZING! Amet really was a great host! Definitely will be back !
It was delightful,we will return!
What a lovely tavern! Roaring fire on a blustery day, fresh and delicious food and drinks. The pirogues are a must have, must share appetizer- laced with crispy crumbles of bacon and caramelized onion-the house specialty, in our opinion. Shrimp skewers and beef skewers were a hit, too. And the Moscow Mule and vodka martini were perfect. Only downside was a distracted waitstaff. Absolutely will go again.
Well, It's quite good. I had the steak with the Jack Daniels sauce. Very good. I didn't like the mashed potatoes but that's my problem. The onions and broccoli were very good. I also had the Caesar Salad. Was a little lacking in dressing for my taste but still good. Drinks were good and house wine served was OK without being special. My wife had the house salad and the broiled tuna. She said it was fantastic. Now, if only the wait staff would grow up and not call us guys like we're their friends, same age and equals. We are not. We are over 70 years of age, been through life, raised our children etc. We are not GUYS! We have earned the right to be called Sir and Madam or Ma'am. If you know us you can call us by our names (maybe in the future). We do not want you to hang out by our table, but we do want you to notice when a plate or drink is empty and take care of it. For your effort we will tip you at 20%. If you haven't earned it we may consider another restaurant. Earning your tip will encourage us to return. Remember, TIP means 'to insure promptness'. That meaning no longer means anything. The tip now is part of your wage. So earn it. Yes, we will return. Hopefully this review has been read and applied.
It was a nice time with family celebrating my husbands birthday.
The penne alla vodka with chicken was mediocre. The other dishes we had (crab cakes and fish and chips) were good. I guess that the classic "tavern" food is the thing to order here, not the fancy stuff. Ambience was really nice, and the waitress was very attentive.
The menu had a nice variety. The Food was delicious and service was fantastic.
Service was exceptional for a party of 8. Food was delicious, well presented. Great value!
Very friendly, knowledgeable waiter Very attentive Clean great parking nice old fashioned country atmosphere. Great place for concentration
Excellent food, excellent service. All meals are made to order and served in a timely manner.
Awesome restaurant. Drinks are strong and the fireplace was roaring. Mac and cheese was tasty.
We brought friends for lunch. Hamburgers and salads ordered were delicious! Excellent service!
Always a great time
Disappointed. They were out of the Saturday night Prime Rib special. The new York strip was cold, probably because it took so long to get served. The huge serving of mashed potatoes were tasteless (straight out of a box?).
First time here after change of ownership. Service and food was great. Will return.
