We were only there for brunch, but I will definitely go back for dinner.
Great food and vibe. We had such a good time that we ended up drinking far too much wine, then ordered Irish coffees. It ended up the most expensive meal of our holiday. Beware!
The food here is very tasty, though a rather limited menu. Alas, main courses arrived from the kitchen only warm, had obviously been sitting for some minutes. It’s very noisy when busy.
Not the usual dining experience. Have been to Oxbow many times. Waited an hour for our main course. When our meal finally came my wife’s halibut was cold and had to be sent back. The waiter was totally inept. The only good thing was the manager bought us dessert. Too many other choices in the neighborhood. Don’t know what was going on in the kitchen or perhaps they were under staffed. It was a Tuesday evening at 6pm so not even like prime time or a weekend
Food is excellent and executed well. Service was on point. No complaints really enjoyed the experience.
Oxbow, under the formidable Tom Valenti, delivers decent, simple food to the UWS, which is a food desert. Any drop helps! Thank you, Oxbow.
Great for Lincoln center proximity w/o the crowds
Dinner was great. Food was terrific. Service could have been a little faster but staff was courteous and accommodating. Atmosphere was comfortable and casual.
I'd definitely go again.
The food and service were so wonderful. One of my guests ordered seconds & that’s never happened before. Delicious highly recommend.
Miracles of miracles, the corn and chive risotto that accompanied the wild striped bass was prepared al dente--so hard to find in the U.S.! The fish was perfectly cooked. The braised duck gizzards came with a delectable sauce. The service staff was charming and attentive even though we had the last reservation/last order at 9:30 on a Saturday night.
good food, close to Lincoln Center, friendly service
Amazing service from the staff. They were very accommodating even though we showed up too early for our reservation. The ambiance is also great.
We had a corner table looking out at NYC going by. The service was perfect. Attentive without being obtrusive. The lamb Bolognese was very good but not the best I’ve had. The ambiance was perfect for a Friday night in NY. Would recommend. We will be back.
A neighborhood restaurant that serves A+ food in a great atmosphere with great service. Try to get a table by the window - a fun, New York experience in a great New York Neighborhood.
I've loved this restaurant but own this one occasion, it was a little disappointing. The food was mostly great. The French onion soup is terrific. The seafood salad appetizer wasn't great. A little too sharp for our tastes. The double pork chops were fine and the pasta was very good. As always, the rinks are pricey, but they were doing a terrific bar business on a Weds. evening.
The service was efficient. Not as friendly as usual.
The ambience is great if you don't mind the noise. There is a lot going on between people at the bar and adjoining tables. It is a fun place if you enjoy people-watching.
Excellent... a little noise bc it’s full .. Amanda that’s a good thing!!
Very good food. Great service, Quite on a Sunday night. A good go-to on the Upper West Side
Great ambiance. My food was good, although my companion’s was okay. Service was
As usual, the food and wine at Oxbow Tavern were very good when we dined there last Saturday night. My husband’s gazpacho was excellent as was my halibut. My husband’s salmon was a bit over salted, but, otherwise, everything was delicious. As the restaurant is convenient for us, we eat there fairly often and are rarely disappointed. Saturday night was no exception.
Great atmosphere, food and service. Our waiter was aware we were in a bit of a hurry due to theater tickets and was great.
We love this restaurant and live close by so we feel lucky. Had the endive salad, always wonderful but a much smaller portion than in the past. Also the grilled quail (which I love and always order) now comes with lots of sliced garlic on top of them. So if you don’t want the garlic, tell them when you order. Apparently all of their “simply grilled” items come with this. Otherwise, fantastic as usual.
My wife and I very much enjoyed Oxbow - the wines by the glass were very pleasant and our dinner was very good. All in a great value for a convenient week-day dinner.
Reliably good food and drink. Friendly staff. Good neighborhood place.
This is my go to place in the hood. Daniel is the best server on the planet
Yes, I would — and do — recommend Oxbow Tavern to friends: New Yorkers and visitors. That said, it must also be said that $8.00 for an iced coffee at brunch, as well as the repeated charges for an iced tea refill, seem excessive.
Had brunch here with my parents and liked the relaxing ambience of the restaurant. I thought the service was excellent, all three of us ordered the bottomless mimosas/bellinis option and we never had to ask the waitress for a refill. The food itself was good but I would have liked to see more brunch options on the menu. Definitely think this is a good option if you're looking to try something new on the UWS and are looking for a bottomless brunch spot over the weekend!
It was our first visit to the restaurant. We enjoyed the pulled pork special, house burger and chocolate pot dessert. It was an easy five minute walk to Lincoln Center. We’ll be back!
Great food & service. On the pricier side and I found the crowd to be on the older side.
Dinner was adequate marred by the waitstaff’s inattentive service. Food was well presented but over cooked.
Past meals have been much better so I’ll chuck it up to a one off this time around.
Great addition to the neighborhood.
Food was excellent and service same.
Finally got to try this neighborhood place and was not disappointed. I had the coq at vin which was excellent (and a generous portion) and a friend had the duck gizzards--both very hearty French bistro-type fare, flavorful and nicely presented. Attentive service and good atmosphere.
I was really looking forward to dining here, but both my companion and I were very disappointed in overpriced food. We will not be returning.
Consistently great neighborhood spot. Service excellent, atmosphere sophisticated yet friendly. Food very good. Go-to place when friends or family are in town.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Oxbow Tavern. The staff was welcoming when we arrived and our waiter was truly wonderful, friendly and attentive! We will be going back.
I enjoy as a neighborhood restaurant- can get a little noisy
I ordered two appetizers pre-theater and unfortunately both were disappointing. The gravlax came on a wonderful potato and corn pancake but was swimming in oil without any acidity to balance it. The endive salad had so much Roquefort dressing that I couldn't taste anything else. Too bad because the food had potential to be very good.
Great food and service. Tom Valenti was there and said hello to many diners.
A delicious meal enhanced by terrific service!
Went there on a Thursday. Our waitress was kinda of aggressive. The foods are just ok. Didn’t think I would come back
