At Oxbow, we want you to indulge in the art of good food. We choose to play with our menu, bending traditional cuisine, letting you appreciate dining as it was meant to be... honestly uncomplicated. So stay for a little, stay for a while. Our in-hotel setting inside Hotel Arts Kensington inspires delightfully unexpected experiences, shared in both new and familiar company.
nice spot for brunch. Little pricey for what we received.
Our server was excellent.
Amazing service came from Edmonton for New Year’s and it was a most memorable time
NYE 5 course dinner was lovely
Love the ambiance and service. The food this time missed the mark unfortunately. Bison roast was too rare... Almost raw. Duck wings were ok but surprisingly missing a bit of flavor. The salad tasted good but had so much dressing it was almost soggy. The desserts were good though.
Unusual ambience in the “lounge”, which felt more like a living room in a retirement home. Service was friendly but verged on overbearing. Ordered highballs, which were as expected, and a smoked salmon appetizer, which was unexpectedly mayonnaise-heavy and accompanied by greens that were wilted and turning bad. 2.5/5. Unlikely to return.

Nice location with nice food
Overall it was a great experience, the service was on point and wonderful. The food was a small portion for the price compared to Vintage, Hy’s , Charbar, they all have 30$ chicken entrees but much larger portions and the Rosti potatoes were overcook and too dry. The wine and champagne were great though!
Steak was hard to eat. Other food was great and enjoyable.
Service was excellent. The food was fresh and creative
Cocktails were good, food was alright but not exceptional. The duck confit wings were drumsticks and ok but tasted like barbecued. The tourtiere was the best food item. My pork schnitzel was so hard and over cooked I could barely cut it with a steak knife. The gnocchi and wild mushrooms were good. Servers were friendly but seriously capering about like in a diner. Not what I would expect from this type of restaurant.
We had such a good experience here. The food was amazing - you have to try the brie. The smoked salmon & chips was also incredible. Basically everything we tried was amazing. Plus great service, you can’t go wrong!
A delightful place for brunch. The ambiance was lovely and service was good. The food was excellent - lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of sausages. There were several other choices on the menu that I would also like to try on a future visit. I would highly recommend.
One of the most under-rated restaurants in Calgary!
Excellent service and atmosphere. Highly recommend
The staff were wonderful and made our evening feel very special. The food was absolutely delicious and served at just the right speed. We will definitely go back to the Oxbow.
Frequented this place when it was Chef’s Table. We had the duck confit wings as an appetizer. Large portion however there was no wow factor to them. My wife had Sablefish with curry risotto which was outstanding. My bison ribeye was good but overcooked from medium rare. Overall it is was good but the value isn’t quite there for what you get and the price you pay.
Cozy, contemporary spot. Great comfort food and half price bottles of wine on Fridays!
Small but interesting menu, prepared well and great presentation. Fantastic service.
The food was fantastic and staff were great. It was our wedding anniversary and they took care of us. We started with the Ceaser Brussel Sprout Salad and Lobster Mushroom Caps and our mains were the Sable Fish and Beef Tenderloin. We finished with the Lemon Curd for dessert. All the dishes we very tasty and full of flavour. We dined on the outdoor patio and they had heaters and provided blankets to keep us cozy warm. My wife and I truly enjoyed our evening for our special occasion. Thanks Oxbow!
Great atmosphere emblematic of a boutique hotel. Very cozy dining room, bar and outdoor area. Wonderful location overlooking the Bow River with convenient parking across Memorial Drive. We look forward to returning (reservations are easy via Open Table).
Wonderful and unusual brunch choices - great server! - parking a bit of a problem
Beautiful sunny day on patio for Sunday Brunch. Great service, food and value for money
Wonderful experience. We were out with friends and it was a great environment for conversation over very good food that was well presented.
Excellent value, well presented meals.
Great service and food
I had the chefs dinner which was good. The chicken seemed a little bit of pink in the middle, and the crème brûlée was not what I expected, quite runny rather than custardy.
Awesome food and service
Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Oxbow Saturday night. The service was exceptional as was the menu.
3 of us went with the Chef's Choice which for $45 for 3 courses I thought it was great value for the quality of food. Likewise the added wine pairings were affordable and got me drinking wines I might not have ordered otherwise.
Everything was delicious but the confit duck wings and the crab cakes really stood out. I love a small well thought-out menu, and Oxbow delivered. We will be back!
Chef made a special gluten free vegan meal for one of our guests and it was delicious. The service was outstanding and Chef came to the table to see how our meals were (perfect). The room was quiet and intimate. I'll definitely be back with other guests.
My wife and I are staying at the hotel, and had an amazing dinner here last night! Great food, staff, and overall experience!
Amazing as always
Brunch on the patio - made a reservation in advance but the only table available when we arrived was actually a fire pit which was awkwardly low for eating a real meal on.
Did get re-seated to a “real” table just as our food arrived, but don’t see the point of making an advance reservation if it doesn’t secure you a real table.
Otherwise food and service was good.
The food at the Oxbow is outstanding!! There were four of us and everyone loved what they had, from appetizers to desserts!
Delicious meal, attentive service, lovely patio, perfect birthday celebration!
The brunch is not worth to come at all!
Tried the chef tasting menu with pairings. An excellent experience and would not hesitate to go back. Staff was awesome, great work by all
As an Adult party of 2 couples , we had a lovely evening on the patio. The food was very good. We enjoyed the lobster stuffed mushroom caps, the Pork Belly, the Halibut and the Duck wings. All were very good.
There is a little noise from Memorial Drive, but I quite enjoyed hearing it. I felt like I was on vacation in another city! You can also sit inside, which is nice a cozy.
Good food in a cozy restaurant near downtown in Kensington. The service was extremely attentive and pleasant. We enjoyed seafood dishes which were prepared to our liking. Good wine list. We’ll be back.
Really nice experience on the patio. Really good service and quiet ambience. Excellent food and really appreciated the staff. We had received some personal bad news while there and the staff treated us extra kindly and gave us extra time etc. Would highly recommend this little gem.
