   The restaurant is very meat centric, beef in particular. Should probably order accordingly. However, everything we ordered was excellent. You really cannot go wrong.

   Our dinner for 2 was absolutely fantastic at Ox. We loved the driinks, the service, and every bite we ate. Wonderful Argentine restaurant, with the indoor grill firing away. Lovely.

   We had a reservation at 5:15PM. We arrived at 5PM. The host wanted us to wait at the bar even though the table was available. Apparently that is the restaurant's policy. After my insistence we were seated early. This makes absolutely no sense. I have never seen this policy before anywhere. The food was OK but not great. And very expensive. Basically a poor imitation of Argentinian food. The wine list was mediocre and grossly overpriced. I have been to Argentina multiple times and love the food. OX doesn't even come close. We will not be back

   Best food I've had in PDX. Restaurant is overly loud...they need to do some acoustic dampening. Hard to have a conversation.

   First things first, the bad: Made the reservation over 2 weeks in advance. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time and was informed by the hostess that we were welcome to wait at the bar next door until our time. We sat in the car, because 10 minutes is just time to sit around and not enough time to enjoy a drink. We went back in, said "Us again." and were escorted to a table next to the bar server station. It seemed like that spot would be noisy, so we asked for a different table further from the bar. Despite our having a reservation, we were told the better tables "were reserved". So having a reservation is not enough to reserve a better table. We stuck with the next-to-bar special. As our meal progressed, the tables we asked about sat empty, until I noticed a small child coloring on paper at the better tables. She must know the owner. In conclusion, watch out for the rude hostess. The good: Our waiter and our food was really, really good. The baked ricotta was surprising and delicious. The crab bruschetta was very fresh and tasty. My ribeye steak was one of the best I've had, the clam chowder was nice and the olive oil cake came out with "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate. Would we go back? Maybe if it became clear how to become part of the Reserved Clientele that can access the better tables. Excellent food though

   My must go to place when in Portland. The food, drinks and everything is always great. I almost hate sharing with my spouse.

   Always great food at Ox and the service is very prompt and professional. The service part of restaurants can be pretty hit or miss in Portland, but Ox takes their service seriously. It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. Would recommend to anyone.

    We ordered the $170 Cowboy Ribeye Steak. It had a lot of connective tissue, was very difficult to chew and slice and for that price, quite disappointing.
