Ox Pasture was conceived by a fourth generation Montanan and his wife, whose vision was to create a place where everyone was welcome, that supported the food & retail culture of Red Lodge’s historical main street, and that focused on the produce of the region.

For the 2018 season, we welcome a pop-up by Chef Philip Guardione and his Sicilian kitchen, Piccola Cucina. Philip cooks authentic Sicilian food which is an amalgam of Italian cuisine influenced by all the cultures that found Sicily as their crossroads. Simple, fresh ingredients authentically prepared suit the local environment of Red Lodge.

At Ox Pasture X Piccolo Cucina, we are at the heart of Red Lodge’s artisan food scene, the locally raised world class beef is featured alongside produce and herbs raised in area farms. We work directly with the local farmers and ranchers to obtain the freshest and most seasonally appropriate ingredients.

Great service, staff and food! Must do if your anywhere close to Red Lodge. Nice to have somewhere different to eat and everything we had was outstanding! Wish we had tried it sooner because we could have eaten here several times on our trip. We will be back next time we are in beautiful Montana!!

Lasagna in the skillet was dry - too cooked - under the heat lamp too long or in the oven too long - bland - skillet not as appealing as your plated food - not chic, industrial - love the restaurant - keep going!

The service and staff were all outstanding. The pasta dishes were fair to middling. Perhaps it was availability of ingredients, but the tomato based pasta were not terribly tasty and the melanzane seemed to have been steamed and wet, not fried, and was rather bland. The tartar was excellent as was the octopus. The orecchiette was dry and I'd suggest removing it from the menu.

Wow, we loved the new version of Ox Pasture. Super cosmopolitan for our little Rocky Mountain ski town and a great infusion of east-coast and Sicilian style and menu items. I had the insalata caprese and the sea bass. Our wait staff were very gracious, especially Luis. Looking forward to going back!

We were greeted quickly and seated about 15-20 after arrival but at very close to our reservation time. Our waiters were wonderful and so was the food. It was fresh and flavorful, the timing all seemed to fit our schedule. We had a wonderful time with good friends and the staff treated us to cannoli's at the end of our meal which were so wonderful I can't wait to get back for more!

The food was excellent. Ambiance was great. Service was a bit slow, we felt like we'd been forgotten a couple of times but everyone was very friendly. We we're there on a very busy night, so hopefully that's all it was. Would recommend making a reservation. Definitely will go back again and again!

Food was excellent. Professional chefs cooking delicious food. Light and stick to your ribs choices. Beautiful setting. Great prices from $8-$32 for things. Friendliest staff I have experienced and the most attractive, clean and pretty decoration in the restaurant. Wow! I am so happy this place worked out so well!!

Terrific dinner! I tried the Dreaming Clouds nigiri sake and it is delicious. Food is perfect! I had soft but al dented fresh gnocchi in a smooth, zesty tomatoe sauce. My friend had a Tookatino drink that was like lemon slush and the lasagna and we loved sitting at the convivial bar chatting with the friendly wait staff! Will go back for lunch today.

We ate here opening night. The food was outstanding , the wait staff was high energy and delightful, the dining room is sophisticated and inviting- we can’t wait to go back.

This was our second dinner here this summer. This time was just as good as the first. A true gem for a town this size. We like how the menu changes every two weeks and that many of the ingredients are locally sourced. Good wine list too. They have creative, artistic and tasty appetizers and mains. The bone-in chicken was really good. Trout and meatloaf were very good too. Unless you are very hungry, portions are large enough to share. We especially love to share their awesome sticky toffee pudding for dessert.

We had a wonderful brunch on the last Sunday for a while. Ox Pasture is a wonderful addition to Red Lodge. Genoa and Chris have filled a much needed niche.

Kaden was an outstanding server! The smoked trout scramble was fabulous as was the yogurt granola. My lone criticism is to replenish the iced tea more often!

We had initially heard an interview on YPR with Chris, the owner of Ox Pasture. The interview content was intriguing, so my husband and I decided to add Red Lodge to our weekend getaway list and try the place out. What a wonderful experience. Beautiful menu options...unique flavors companioned with fresh, locally sourced vegetables and meats. Nothing too complex, but exquisite results for the palate. Loved every single bite. The ambiance of the space was fresh, sophisticated, and very relaxing!

The food was wonderful! We were offered a red wine "special" and we're very surprised by the price when we got our bill. Maybe it isn't standard procedure to say what the price of a special drink, entre, etc. but we were imbarrassed as the other couple doesn't drink and we split the bill. The desserts were outstanding!
