Ovidio's Italian Restaurant serves a variety of antipasti options, including bruschetta, mozzarella caprese, calamari fritti, steamed clams and prosciutto con melon. Great Italian food at favorable price point in a pleasant atmosphere. I had calamari steak with garlic, caper and lemon sauce. It was killer! My wife had bucatini pasta and it was excellent. The portion was large enough for some to take-home.

My favorite restaurant in Fresno!
The dining room is well decorated. I was greeted with a friendly smile and seated quickly. However, after that it felt like forever until someone waited on me. it was a slow night and not many people so I wasn't sure why this was happening. When my server finally took my order i was now impatient. I ordered the gnocchi with Alfredo sauce. After 45 minutes of waiting I asked to have my dinner to go. When I got home I really enjoyed the gnocchi. you could tell it was made from scratch and it was delicious. Next time I hope my wait time is not so long.
We ordered from the 40th anniversary menu.
Scampi and minestrone, lasagna, cheese ravioli, three Caesar salads.
All seven of us were pleased.
Everything on the menu is freshly made and authentic.
The place was packed! I mean packed! We got to our table and the staff was very attentive. We ordered quickly, the food arrived quickly and it was a very delicious meal overall! Very pleased and will be back for sure!!
They were extremely busy because of their anniversary special. The wait staff worked very hard to serve everyone.

I think when we were seated, no one told our server so it took a good 15 minutes before we a server came to our table. Other than that the food was great and ambiance was nice
By far the best Italian restaurant in Fresno, we have been coming to Ovidios for almost 40 years and have so many memories of family, friends and celebrations. A true neighborhood icon that is valued and appreciated.

My wife and I were given two disgustingly filthy menus. Not that I don’t often enjoy seeing what people are eating in a restaurant, but I don’t like it on my menu. I brought the menus to the host and he looked at the first and said, yeah...that’s bad. He promptly tore the menu in half and gave me a new one. He then looked at the second menu, handed it back to me and said, this one isn’t so bad.
We should have taken that as a clue and left immediately.
The evening did progress a little better than expected, but that experience left an unsettling feeling in my stomach and a bad taste in my mouth. I’m so glad I didn’t walk into the kitchen.
Haley, our server was great, once we inquired about her moon tattoo. Prior to that, we didn’t know leer name, nor did she really care about the service she provided.
I would not return as the food didn’t mask our first impressions.
My husband and I enjoy dinner at Ovidio’s...always delicious food and service exceptional! We enjoy visiting their bar first for a Happy Hour drink and appetizer.
The food & service was WONDERFUL. The tables were set with linens and was very nice. Ambiance was a LITTLE cold. Dont know if it was the lighting or what. But overall GREAT experience!
Ovidio’s is always good! I love the small restaurant type of dining and their food is delicious. I think the only thing I would change is their bread. But then again, I’m not tempted, so maybe that’s good!
We wanted Italian and were in a town we knew nothing about. This seemed to fit the bill. The food was great. I assume noise level is usually fairly low. On this day there was a large party (20+) and it was loud. However I assume that normally they aren’t there. Food was quick and tasty.

We celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary with a delicious dinner at Ovidio's. Having honeymooned in Italy for 3 weeks, we know authentic Italian cuisine and Ovidio did not disappoint us! The food was delicious, very generous portions, the wine was from the Tuscany region and they surprised us with a very yummy Italian dessert in honor of our anniversary. We will definitely return to Ovidio and recommend it to friends.

As always, food was good. I had to get the waiters attention to ask for fresh ground pepper on my salad. It's a hit and miss receiving it. Table was small for 3 adults.

Dinner was very good. There were 3 of us and we each had some different. The veal marsala was tender in a nice semi-sweet sauce. The tortelloni with proscuitto was in a white cream sauce and the proscuitto was not salty, very good. The Scampi alla Franco was fresh and tender and flavorful. All around very good meal.
