The live music with amplifier was far far too loud for dining. They could’ve gone acoustic and it would’ve been nice but we had a shout at each other to have a conversation we were sitting right next to each other. They were understaffed as many restaurants are these days. As a hotel restaurant they should probably keep a full staff based on their occupancy. Service was very very friendly and very very slow. All the dinners came out at different times. One dinner 25 min later than others. Food was tasty. A whole bank of tables against the wall had zero light and no table lighting it was very weird.
The hotel is beautiful and the restaurant’s ambiance is nice. The food was seemingly overpriced, looked good but had no flavor. The staff was friendly but the server (Pamela) did not know the menu items, and guessed incorrectly a few times. The server suggested side Caesar salads with our steaks so we added them, only to get the bill and she charged us full price for a full salad though when the salad came out it did seem like a side. When we asked about it she said Caesar wasn’t a side salad option, however she offered it. Overall the experience was okay, however we won’t be back as the service was slow and the food was bland.
The Overlook was a good place for the three of us to sit and talk. The restaurant is quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately we could not enjoy the view since it was a rainy evening and dark. But the food is substantial and good. We like going to enjoy the quiet and have a meal!
Boring dinner, dime size sauce on hamburger, 3 pickle chips, 3 pieces of cut up onion. Should have gone to McDonald’s. Better deal etc.
waiter brought 3 more cut up onions!
First time there was good. Not going back. So many other restaurants up to par.
Five thumbs down.
Vert disappointing. Sad Caesar salad, $7 for a cup of soup, no atmosphere and hard to find. No reason to return.
Hoped to have a nice night out for a birthday celebration. After waiting 45 minutes on the sprouts appetizer while tables around us were being sat and getting their appetizers and entrees while we waited for the waitress to come even check in on us, we began to try to get our waitress’ attention. After another 10 minutes, when another table was being served their food by the manager, I had mentioned that we were still waiting on our appetizer. After looking at us confused and asking again what we ordered and how long ago, I hoped she would at least apologize or say the waitress was new, as I really wanted to give them a chance, but after she began to walk away without another word I asked for the check and told her we would head out. Without apologizing or trying to rectify the situation, she walked away and came back a few minutes later and dropped the check off, again not even trying to figure out what happened or trying correct the mistake, and then a few minutes later, the sprouts were magically ready. The one dish we had was good, however does not make up for the awful service that was provided. As much as I hate giving bad reviews and am willing to give chances after especially after having worked in the food service for a long time at many different levels, I will not be returning to this restaurant any time soon.
Service was terrible. Waited an hour for food to arrive and not all people in our party received food at the same time. The food was ok but not worth the money.
The food was fabulous, the menu was very limited though only three entrée choices
The food was amazing!! We loved every single bite.
At first we had some trouble with the parking garage. There are no signs to tell you there is a second parking garage at the back of the hotel. Once we got in things are good. The food and service were excellent!!! The bartender also knows how to mix a drink! The ambiance is quite lacking though. It reminders me of the food hall when I was in college; very similar to a cafeteria. I would suggest eating on the patio or at the bar.
The food was great but we had poor service.
Overall somewhat disappointing. We went for burger week on the reputation of their Smashburger, however their well known burger was not an option. The Summit burger was offered but it was a smaller version. Food was served in cardboard trays not commensurate with the vibe of the space and not expected. The service was great, the manager solicitous but the experience disappointing. On the up note the drinks are awesome and the hotel and space so not Cincinnati. So guess we will have to come back for their real menu in the evening and enjoy the views.
We opted to eat inside due to the weather, so can’t say what it would be like on the balcony. There are no umbrellas for shade. We were seated in the bar area, which is rather noisy due to the hard surfaces. The service was attentive and prompt. However, the menu is limited to four entrees - and they were out of one of those. I will return to the bar with an extensive menu and to try outdoor seating in the evening.
Was expecting to be outside, but it was closed for a private event, so that was disappointing. But the food was great.
Only a few other people in the entire place and it took a good 10+ minutes to get a second round of drinks.
Food was delicious and service was wonderful! We will definitely be dining here again.
The menu selection was interesting. Our group enjoyed everything that we ordered.
Thank you for your 5 star review! We look forward to see you again.
We went for Sunday brunch. The hostess had a bit of an attitude and we were not seated for 10 minutes despite a reservation and it not really being that crowded at the time. I had had the reservation for 6 weeks. They were short staffed. Only 1 server for the whole restaurant inside and patio. She did the best she could and was great under the circumstances. The manager helped as did the bus person. It was good we weren't in a hurry. Some other folks weren't happy, though.
The food was good and came out hot despite being short staffed.
It might be a while before I go back, but may give them another chance with dinner or lunch. Hopefully better staffed next time.
Food was ok...bacon was undercooked. Buffet selections were minimal and $40 price per person was overpriced. We did have great service however
I was not aware when I booked the reservation for Mother’s Day that it was a buffet. We were not told the price which was 40.00 a person. The food was horrible. Cold and dry. I feel bad that my son paid 120.00 plus tip. I didn’t really eat anything.
Everyone’s nice !!! Food was excellent!!
Great food, amazing space - the outdoor space is beautiful! The service was very very slow. This is a good place, but they need to work out some kinks for a smoother experience.
Awesome experience and we would love to come back sometime! Maybe get an outside seat with the fire going :)
Oh boy, well, first thing is the place is very difficult to find. We had 2 different GPS programs going and still drove around for an extra 10 minutes. We viewed the menu online and it is different than what the restaurant offered. They said they "updated" (read downsized) the menu a few weeks back and haven't had a chance to update the online menu? Really? Then, our sweet waitress was not very good with English and didn't know the menu or the ingredients so was not of much help with answering questions. Most items indicated "heat" had been added - jalapeno, roasted red pepper sauce said to be "hot", pepperjack cheese. I know "heat" is all the rage but when you only have 1/2 dozen sandwiches it would be nice to have reasonable alternatives. I like flavor but not heat. Speaking of which I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and no heat but on the bland side. My aunt ordered the wings and also found them bland, and my friend ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and had to ask for ranch dressing to pick up the flavor a little bit. Overall we felt we might give it a try again after covid is well behind us and the menu is improved, but maybe not. For now I don't recommend. Cincinnati has so many fabulous restaurants that the mediocre ones may not last that long. My thought is that it is great to give people who don't speak English well a job, but it is a disservice to the customers to have them in public contact positions. When some one begins their answers with "I think" that is not at all reassuring. "I don't know but I'll find out" would be better, and even better yet would be, especially with a small menu, making sure the servers understand the flavors of the items they are serving. Training is definitely in order so they can answer those kinds of questions with confidence.
Nice place for business lunch very quiet and nice view of sky
It was very good. Ambience was good. Very safe in the COVID situation.
We went for Valentines Day. The server was quite clueless. The filet was dry and the portions were small. The margarita was terrible. We didn't even drink it. The Cobb salad was kind of a joke for $10. We ordered after the table behind us, at one point the server asked them if they were ready for their check, they reminded him they haven't even eaten yet, he asked to take their order then, they said they already gave it to him, 10 min later he came back and told them he lost their order...this was after we ate and paid...they left without even getting to eat. No one even offered to hurry another order for them. On Valentines Day. The apology was weak...sad. We ate hear before. This experience and the food this was absolutely terrible. Bartender obviously had no clue.. Super expensive for what we received. Tough to think about coming back. It wasn't even crowded.
Short of staff and service was SLOW... I will give them another visit
Outstanding service by all; server busser and manager! Food was really good and came out promptly. We are so pleased to have found such a great place so close to home! We will absolutely visit again very soon!
Hardly saw our server. Had to flag her down, she often looked away. 3 of 4 of us had luke warm food. I sent mine back. No coffee refills, no spoons for coffee, 1 packet of sugar in sugar bowl and waited a long time for more.
Must have been short staffed. Won’t be returning. Just not that great!
Food was ok, Service was great ! Would go again for drinks for sure.
Service moved very slow - one server for the entire dining room. She was running from the.bar to the kitchen like crazy. The food was, unfortunately, underwhelming. Needed more seasoning and some of the items on our plates were either not prepared as requested or cold. Disappointed experience, but I do have to give the server and management credit for making an effort to make things right.
The food was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. Hats off to the chef!
It's bright and beautiful. The service was attentive, although a bit rushed. The food was subpar and not worth the value. I had a cob salad which was bland. The dressings tasted bottle-like, not made fresh. I'd return for a drink and the atmosphere but not to dine.
This was a total shot in the dark surfing OpenTable but what a nice surprise. The Summit Hotel has a very chic/modern feel and was fun to walk through and the Overlook dining was just great. Our waitress, Melissa. was so helpful and is a great ambassador for the area. Look forward to a return visit.
The server seemed new and unsure of selections.
Lovely space and atmosphere!
Great outdoor patio but needs heaters. The charcuterie was super and so was the salmon.
The food exceeded our expectations. It was really, really good. My husband had the chicken gumbo which he raves about. I had the salmon which was really delicious! We’ve been there twice, and the service level still needs improvement. Seating took longer than necessary. Our server was in a word—- terrible. The manager was bringing food out, and this helped.
Lights in the dining room were too bright.
Seemed rushed. Didn’t clear plates between courses and brought out food too soon.
Staff was friendly but needed to check on customers more than just when dropping the food.
Food was good! Highly recommend the salmon !
Wonderful venue. Would love to return especially during the warmer weather. Outstanding service and delicious meal!
