Service was absolutely terrible!!!! Very very slow and unfriendly. Food was okay but not worth your time. I will not be returning.
The food was very good (once it came). Our server was very nice, but he was new and it showed. The service was slow and the staff seemed very disorganized.
We enjoyed the food and it was nice being outside but the view was limited where we were seated. Great staff and nice music that evening.
The ultimate experience of a great Birthday evening! Our server, Melissa, was outstanding. We originally planned to eat outside but it started raining. She was so helpful moving us inside and her overall service was superb. The ambiance was amazing, service was awesome, and food was outstanding. My 46th Burt Celebration was one we won’t soon forget!

Nice bar in new hotel. Food was just OK. They had a small band playing in the bar, and they were great.
The view is great. Service was sub-par. Food not as decribed... prawns should not mean tiny shrimp. Could be an awesome place with better customer service and attention to detail.

There seemed to be very new staff that were not very knowledgeable about to he menu, and provided elementary service. This was a huge contrast from my last experience. I was disappointed and my guest was very aggravated. All new staff should get some extra training.
Having reservations was useless. Seemed like the best way to get a table was to go in and sit down. They were very busy and seemed very disorganized. After a half-hour wait, once seated, service was lightening fast. Food came out in a heartbeat (we did order burgers on burger-night). Food was excellent.
We went during burger week, and they were woefully unprepared. 30 minutes behind on our reservation. Our waters and other drinks came after our food arrived. The burger was fine. Pretzels and beer cheese were delicious. My side salad was wilted and inedible. My daughter's pasta was not fully cooked. Sent back and came back still undercooked. Overall unimpressed.
We went for Burger Week. What we recevied was a $5 dollar burger, not worth the regular price or $15!!! Service was horrible. The server failed to take a drink order when we ordered our burgers. Two runners tried to deliver food tour table that we didn't order.
When our check came it included the party of four seated next to us. After twenty minutes the servers and managers could not figure it out. I gave them a hand full of dollars for what our food cost plus what I estimated out drinks to to cast (two ices teas and kids soft-drink) and said they could figure it out.
The hostess was almost non-existent and other diners arriving to eat were rudely told by staff they would have to wait to be seated!
I would be hard pressed to return, or recommend this establishment to any one!!!
We came for Burger Week
There is a total disconnect between food ordered and the food which arrived. We were a party of four and not one of us got what we ordered! Service was totally disorganized. Waitresses,hostesses, bartender and management were all tripping over one another trying to get orders to the right tables. They were mostly unsuccessful! One friend said she will never go back even when offered a free dinner to return!
We went to kick off Cincinnati Burger Week. The burger was really tasty. Larger and juicy and the burger sauce was very zesty. The house made chips served with the burger were great, though a little spicy for my spouse..Since it was our first time in this restaurant, I asked way too many questions about their menus and our poor server answered every one with a smile. We ate at 3pm and had the place to ourselves. Wasn’t pleased that a glass of iced tea cost me$4. But other than that it was a pleasant experience.
This is a difficult review to write because I have no idea where the blame lies. The waitress was sweet but it took almost 20 minutes to get a drink. There was only one bartender but the restaurant was not busy. We had to ask for silverware , ask for salt and pepper and finally just go to the bar and order there. The bar was out of a purée to make a drink which was recommended .
The manager on duty was not much help-. His staff was very confused and disorganized and so he delivered some food and then sat down at a table with other guests to chat!
This place has been open long enough to get their act together- not sure what the problem is but even though the food is good, I am not anxious to go back
We went for our anniversary dinner. The outside seating was comfortable. The view was great. Everyone who participated in our dining experience was friendly & knowledgeable.
We were there at 7:30pm on a weekday and the restaurant was nearly empty. The service was terrible for that condition-extremely slow response times for drinks, menus, order taking, etc. The food was acceptable for this genre of restaurant but nothing to rave about-frankly, the items were "better on paper" than in actuality. The decor is simple yet pleasing. The big attraction here is probably the bar service and ample outdoor seating for massive socializing, definitely the atmosphere for young professionals. I also found the food to be a tad overpriced. The final impression we were left with was of a place that had not yet figured out how to be a restaurant.
We waited for 50 minutes at a table and never even got Waters. We left. It wasn't even crowded...
Should have heeded the not so good reviews. Wanted to see for ourselves but really didn’t think much of it. The hotel is stunning so we had high expectations. The restaurant fell short!
Went for Sunday brunch. Not bad but not sure if I’d go back. The food was pretty good but the service wasn’t the greatest. It’s a brunch buffet, so you’re somewhat on your own but drink refills and being checked on by the server were few and far between.
4:30 Reservations, our party of three arrived at 4:30. There were a few people in the bar area. Service was slow, even though there were only about 8 others in the bar area. food was just OK.
Our orders Fish Tacos - Flavorless, very small amount of avocado. Hambuger just OK. Steak sandwich just OK. Today one of the ladies told me she discovered an additional charge on her credit card.
So much potential but the front of the house is a mess! So unorganized. Poor service. Food was good but cold. So so slow! Band was good but WAY TOO LOUD for the space. Come on. Get it together. Can’t get out fast enough!
There weren’t even 10 people in the place when we arrived. Someone who I assume was the manager sort of greeted us? They let us sit wherever we wanted so that was nice. A server eventually came and gave us menus, we asked for drink menus, took another almost 10 minutes to get those. Before bringing us drink menus the server proceeded to bus some other tables around us? Couldn’t you have given us the drink menu first? After ordering cocktails we waited 15 minutes and the server informed us that “our bartender just walked out”. Cool I work in hospitality and I don’t ever tell my guests what is going on behind the scenes. Anyways we got an app it was inedible. At this point we got the check and left. One inedible app and 2 subpar cocktails later we paid the almost $40 check and bounced. Beautiful space but it’s totally wasted. Free parking was a bonus.
Great for a special occasion, but a little pricey for a regular Sunday.
New menu is terrific. Well executed and well presented. Service was attentive and prompt. There was a big event going on at the hotel, but that did not impact our service or experience in any way. We will be back to try more of very tasty looking selections.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, Overlook overlooked too many details. Ambiance for the evening was off as their back room/event space door was open with really bright fluorescent lights. Drink order was not a great experience as our first 2 cocktail choices were out of stock and then even my first beer choice was out. Then the cocktail was in a champagne glass (read: small amount) and was still $12! Next the server was extremely slow and inefficient. He would take 1 drink order and leave and then come back after 15 min. Then he never offered to get us another drink when ours were empty. On to the food. We both ordered a Caesar salad with hanger steak. The steak was more charred/crisp than meat and the salad was romaine heads cut in half (but not grilled) and almost no dressing. Didn’t taste like Caesar dressing. Menu mentioned Parmesan but there was no cheese on the salad. After being done with our drinks and food for 20 minutes we waited another 15 for our bill. Paid almost $70 for 2 drinks and 2 Caesar salads?!? Overpriced and will not be back and have already recommended friends skip this on their “new restaurants to try” list.
Arrived early for reservation. Restaurant relatively empty. No hostess to seat/check you in. Once we were finally seated & orders placed, only one of us received food. Soup. No salads came out, no appetizers came out. Not even the bread that went with the soup which was asked for multiple times. One hour later we called it a wrap and manager was kind enough to give vouchers for next visit, but not sure I will be back to eat. Positive is patio area is large and nice place to meet friends. Negative is only one bartender. Hoping they get it together as I have attended a private party here and it was ok although they also had issue with food (salads being served after dessert, carving station running out of meat).
Mediocre at best, service slow, menu items over priced.
Everything was good, just not outstanding.
the hotel is cool, what ordered was listed as GF, I was then told its not!!! The fish tacos were to spicy to eat
We had a Cincy Savers certificate for Overlook so figured we’d give it a try. Overall the food was good (not great, but good) and we had no complaints with the service or with the restaurant being loud (like other reviewers had commented about). Maybe it was because it was a weeknight and there were only 6-7 other couples dining at the time, who knows. For the price paid for the certificate it was fine, but I don’t think I’d be interested in dining there at the regular prices. The ribeye steak had a good flavor but was kind of thin for $32 and the scallops entree only came with 3 scallops and not much in the way of a side dish, just a little parsnip purée. The salads and desserts also fell into the good but not great category.
We ate in the bar area which was lively and fun. The service was great and the Sea bass was perfect! New management and chef.
After reading reviews I was hesitent about giving them a try but glad I did. Just remember it is hotel dining and not 5 star dining!
The Waiter was awesome. We will definitely be back!
Service is great, wine list is OK, food was good, price to value is ok to mediocre. I will try again with new menu.
The menu was complicated and appeared to be written by a chef fresh out of school trying to use big words to describe the items; it was vague and quite simply confusing. We finished our drinks, paid and left without ordering. The staff made our visit very awkward.
The food was good, although the ribeye was a bit salty, we liked everything else we ordered. Craft cocktails were great. The ambiance could be much better! The lighting was harsh and we could see the lighting from the breakfast bar, which is not great for evening dining. The service was good. We may try to come back when the outside area is open.
Eating at the Overlook classifies as THE worst Cincinnati dining experience in at least 35 years. The noise exceeded anything that one might consider acceptable. The menu featured about 7 main course options. The food ranked as one of the worst presentations and quality in memory. Three of us ordered rib eye steak. It came improperly prepared with cold plated vegetables. Returned 3 of the main courses (all steaks) and they came out worse than the first try. By then, more people had arrived at the bar and the noise level exceeded what we could tolerate. We chose not to return the main dishes again. Overall experience was terrible. Will never go back.
To begin, the thermostat by our table was registered at 30`. The service was bad.....considering we were the only 2 in the restaurant. Food was avg & over priced
Joseph, Let me begin by thanking you for your feedback and apologizing for your experience. Poor service, average food, and a frigid environment are never acceptable and fall well below the standards we set. Unfortunately, your visit was on one of two days that the arctic temps impacted our thermostats, as for the food and the service, there are no excuses. Based on earlier reviews and our experience Saturday night, I'd say they're working on improving their overall product.
