Great outdoor patio but needs heaters. The charcuterie was super and so was the salmon.
The food exceeded our expectations. It was really, really good. My husband had the chicken gumbo which he raves about. I had the salmon which was really delicious! We’ve been there twice, and the service level still needs improvement. Seating took longer than necessary. Our server was in a word—- terrible. The manager was bringing food out, and this helped.
Lights in the dining room were too bright.
Seemed rushed. Didn’t clear plates between courses and brought out food too soon.
Staff was friendly but needed to check on customers more than just when dropping the food.
Food was good! Highly recommend the salmon !
Wonderful venue. Would love to return especially during the warmer weather. Outstanding service and delicious meal!
Our food was cooked to our request perfectly. We enjoyed our evening out for the first time since the Virus closed the State down. This is the first time for us at this restaurant, we will be back.
We got there early - 5:45 pm and there was nobody there so we were concerned. But as time went by, it started to fill up. The service was good. We had to wait a bit longer than we like for our bill, but our server got busy. The food was very good along with a nice presentation. My husband got french fries with his meal and we both agree they were the best we ever tasted!!
Upon leaving, we met Eric the janitor and he was a delight - he was very proud of his workplace and took it upon himself to show us around :)
All in all, a very good experience!
Well we hit the restaurant at an off time and our waiter was working extremely hard doing everything ...busing tables, creating drinks ,taking food orders ,bringing out food ...just very overworked. He had an excellent work ethic and he had a very big personality. Those are the positives . I had a Cosmo that seemed like it was mixed with tequila instead of vodka. The salad was interesting with watermelon but it wasn’t fresh enough. The meal was a turkey club and a burger that was was average . The french fries were extra crispy perhaps over fried. We truly disliked the donut dessert that seemed like pretzel bread filled with a layer of light peanut butter sauce sprinkled with sugar and topped with frozen bagged strawberries. The view was OK as you’re looking down onto busy streets. When they turned the lighting on as it got dark it was drawing bugs . The lighting was too bright like interrogation lights. They would be better on a dimmer but they did kindly turn them back off for us. It was probably a one time dinner experience as I don’t see us going back. The waiter was excellent and took the desert off of our bill. Thankfully he didn’t ask about the rest of the meal, only the dessert.
Excellent view and ambiance. The food may be better when there isn't a pandemic?
Beautiful outdoor patio with a wonderful view. My salmon was the best I’ve ever had, crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth inside. The Brussel sprouts were very flavorful. My husband had the club which he enjoyed very much. There was live entertainment also. Great experience. I highly recommend
This was a gem we just discovered. The view is good, the seating is casual and comfortable, the food is excellent, and we were served well. No complaints and we’ll definitely return.
We haven’t been out much since the virus. We ate outside at an off hour. It was spectacular. The breeze, the food, the view, the service. Wanted to stay forever. Felt very safe.
I booked a room at the Summit Hotel for my fiancé’s birthday. We had dinner and drinks on the patio at Overlook. It was fantastic! Our food arrived a bit cold but they were prompt to bring us a new, hotter plate. We had breakfast the next morning and everything was outstanding- the service, the atmosphere and the food! We will be coming back again soon.
We wanted our meal staged and it came out all at once so once we were finished with our app our meal was cold.
The Bartender Mackenzie was great. She made good drinks and was very friendly:)
The pork wings were awesome:) and so was the steak. Price was good too. We would go back again.
Great food. Pretty place
The food and service were outstanding however I will say that the price was higher than expected and a little more than what the environment justifies.
I think Overlook at the Summit might be better if you can enjoy the outside patio, which on a cold December night was not possible. Food is OK. Service is OK. Why only OK? Because 4 times in the evening, we were told we could not order something on the food or drink menus because they were out of the ingredients to make it. 4 times. And we had to ask to have water glasses filled. And a lot of the food came out luke-warm. Most notably, a barely warm brie cheese that should have been hot and oozing. None of our group was enamored with the food... it was all simply OK. So, maybe when you can enjoy their large outdoor patio, it might be worth it. Or it's the only option if you are staying in the hotel.
We chose your restaurant due to the band playing. Your staff told us 7 - 10pm for the music. Online said 8pm, I called and questioned restaurant staff and they said band was starting earlier at 7pm. We booked a 6pm reservation based on that. Turns out band didn't start until 8pm. Our appetizer came after entrees were served after asking where it was. Food was just OK, not really. Atmosphere feels like a brightly lighted cafeteria. Upcharge for a teeny tiny little salad was 2 bucks versus chips/potato. Fish tacos were like an appetizer in size. No silverware on the table, we got that ourselves from another table. Didn't feel like waiting an hour for the music to start so we left and will never be back.
Slow service; not well trained in customary aspects of service; inattentive too often
Service was absolutely terrible!!!! Very very slow and unfriendly. Food was okay but not worth your time. I will not be returning.
The food was very good (once it came). Our server was very nice, but he was new and it showed. The service was slow and the staff seemed very disorganized.
We enjoyed the food and it was nice being outside but the view was limited where we were seated. Great staff and nice music that evening.
The ultimate experience of a great Birthday evening! Our server, Melissa, was outstanding. We originally planned to eat outside but it started raining. She was so helpful moving us inside and her overall service was superb. The ambiance was amazing, service was awesome, and food was outstanding. My 46th Burt Celebration was one we won’t soon forget!
Service was horrible, non-attentive, slow.
Nice bar in new hotel. Food was just OK. They had a small band playing in the bar, and they were great.
The view is great. Service was sub-par. Food not as decribed... prawns should not mean tiny shrimp. Could be an awesome place with better customer service and attention to detail.
Unique place with nice outdoor patio. Mia was an excellent server. Apps are good.
There seemed to be very new staff that were not very knowledgeable about to he menu, and provided elementary service. This was a huge contrast from my last experience. I was disappointed and my guest was very aggravated. All new staff should get some extra training.
Having reservations was useless. Seemed like the best way to get a table was to go in and sit down. They were very busy and seemed very disorganized. After a half-hour wait, once seated, service was lightening fast. Food came out in a heartbeat (we did order burgers on burger-night). Food was excellent.
We went during burger week, and they were woefully unprepared. 30 minutes behind on our reservation. Our waters and other drinks came after our food arrived. The burger was fine. Pretzels and beer cheese were delicious. My side salad was wilted and inedible. My daughter's pasta was not fully cooked. Sent back and came back still undercooked. Overall unimpressed.
We went for Burger Week. What we recevied was a $5 dollar burger, not worth the regular price or $15!!! Service was horrible. The server failed to take a drink order when we ordered our burgers. Two runners tried to deliver food tour table that we didn't order.
When our check came it included the party of four seated next to us. After twenty minutes the servers and managers could not figure it out. I gave them a hand full of dollars for what our food cost plus what I estimated out drinks to to cast (two ices teas and kids soft-drink) and said they could figure it out.
The hostess was almost non-existent and other diners arriving to eat were rudely told by staff they would have to wait to be seated!
I would be hard pressed to return, or recommend this establishment to any one!!!
We came for Burger Week
There is a total disconnect between food ordered and the food which arrived. We were a party of four and not one of us got what we ordered! Service was totally disorganized. Waitresses, hostesses, bartender and management were all tripping over one another trying to get orders to the right tables. They were mostly unsuccessful! One friend said she will never go back even when offered a free dinner to return!
We went to kick off Cincinnati Burger Week. The burger was really tasty. Larger and juicy and the burger sauce was very zesty. The house made chips served with the burger were great, though a little spicy for my spouse..Since it was our first time in this restaurant, I asked way too many questions about their menus and our poor server answered every one with a smile. We ate at 3pm and had the place to ourselves. Wasn’t pleased that a glass of iced tea cost me$4. But other than that it was a pleasant experience.
This is a difficult review to write because I have no idea where the blame lies. The waitress was sweet but it took almost 20 minutes to get a drink. There was only one bartender but the restaurant was not busy. We had to ask for silverware , ask for salt and pepper and finally just go to the bar and order there. The bar was out of a purée to make a drink which was recommended .
The manager on duty was not much help-. His staff was very confused and disorganized and so he delivered some food and then sat down at a table with other guests to chat!
This place has been open long enough to get their act together- not sure what the problem is but even though the food is good, I am not anxious to go back
We went for our anniversary dinner. The outside seating was comfortable. The view was great. Everyone who participated in our dining experience was friendly & knowledgeable.
We were there at 7:30pm on a weekday and the restaurant was nearly empty. The service was terrible for that condition-extremely slow response times for drinks, menus, order taking, etc. The food was acceptable for this genre of restaurant but nothing to rave about-frankly, the items were "better on paper" than in actuality. The decor is simple yet pleasing. The big attraction here is probably the bar service and ample outdoor seating for massive socializing, definitely the atmosphere for young professionals. I also found the food to be a tad overpriced. The final impression we were left with was of a place that had not yet figured out how to be a restaurant.
We waited for 50 minutes at a table and never even got Waters. We left. It wasn't even crowded...
Should have heeded the not so good reviews. Wanted to see for ourselves but really didn’t think much of it. The hotel is stunning so we had high expectations. The restaurant fell short!
Went for Sunday brunch. Not bad but not sure if I’d go back. The food was pretty good but the service wasn’t the greatest. It’s a brunch buffet, so you’re somewhat on your own but drink refills and being checked on by the server were few and far between.
