A bit pricey, as the portions are very small plates, but really enjoyed everything we had. Food was tasty. Desserts were also delicious — the s’mores soufflé was amazing. We were shocked at how good it was! Will definitely go back.
The menu had several items which were unfamiliar to our group of well traveled and experienced diners. The overall presentation and flavors were wonderful, and the serving size was easily shared across our group of 5.
The wine flight was very good, and the cocktails were tasty and generous.
I would encourage the waiter to call attention to dishes which feature raw seafood, to ensure the guest understands how the meal is prepared.
I'm not sure why this place has high reviews. The food quality is good but prep and execution does not live up to the price tag. Not really a tapas restaurant either. Prices are too high, portions are large though. Overall the flavor and execution doesn't make me want to eat here again. There are many better places to eat at, that command this price.
Good food and something different for a change of pace. Enjoyed the small plates.
Fine dining costs but server wasninexpepeienced and inaccurate about menu and options. Would not go back.
Meh. Sterile atmosphere. Feels like you are eating in a service hall. Food okay. We won’t be back.
I love this place. It’s a great shift from your more traditional chain restaurants with high end/quality menus. Service is never an issue always solid. The cocktails are on point and creative. This time we had the Aranchinis and Skewered Steak (Dee-lish). This place is my go-to for friends when i feel like showing off some local knowledge :-)
Hard to locate in hotel, needs signage. Good food, good for sharing
Our first visit to Oveja Negra and it was great.
We made a reservation early in the evening before a movie and the place was empty (we were the first table as they first opened around 5:30) so the ambiance was just getting started.
We had the Signature Dish - the Oveja Negra Barbacoa (lamb roasted in banana leaves) was tasty and came with an extra bonus of bone marrow which was also baked into the tortillas. Lamb was very good, slightly dryer than I like on the inside, but very flavorful.
Other items I would recommend are the Chorizo Poutine (great comfort food and nice pairing between the mushroom gravy and chorizo slices) and the Brussels Sprouts which were roasted nicely and had a light, tasty, crispiness which resulted from opening up while cooking.
Cocktails we had that are noteworthy - the Bee's Knees which was a nice contrast between lemon, honey, and gin and the Manhattan!
Chef came out and asked what we were in the mood for, and then brought out the most amazing healthy meal. We loved it!
We were there on a quiet Monday evening. We had their lamb specialty, scallops, monkfish, mussels and burata salad. Every dish was excellent. Dessert was to die for. We will return.
My birthday dinner here was great! Just my date and I. Waiter was friendly and funny, food was fantastic. 110% chance I’ll be back.
Excellent place
Gourmet food
And great service
The food was soooo good that we insisted on meeting the exec chef! Music was great! Drinks were delicious.
I can’t wait to go back!
food was average .
thai rice was undercooked . They took it of the final bill
Small portions but good
Great flavors and service. Food was excellent.
He had an awesome dining experience. Our server was outstanding, friendly and made us feel great, wanting to come back, which we did a week later. The food is superb
wonderful experience!
Wonderful for girls night out after shopping and movie....and especially if you are staying at the hotel
Ambiance and overall physical aspect is a one star
To think that it's at hotel Valencia , expected more chic environment
We felt we were in a fast food restaurant
In and out had better decorations!
The table, chairs set up was awful!
Price of the food was not cheap so expectation for a more upscale aesthetics is not unreasonable
We ordered 4 dishes. Of the 4 dishes, two were good and two were not. The Thai fried rice was way too salty and the lobster enchiladas was under cooked and we had to send it back to reheat. The sea bass was excellent and the lamb was good too. The restaurant was quiet so was good for talking. Our waitress was friendly. Over all experience was ok. Not sure if it was worth the money though.
Tucked in the Valencia hotel, a quaint little tapas bar creates fusion tapas and craft cocktails. Friendly staff, quality ingredients. I asked my server just pick five things, and promised even if I didn't like something I wouldn't send it back. Nothing was disappointing. Beautiful presentation and flavors. Cocktails were nice and done professionally, proper stem wear/ ice. I left happy
Great Tapas, attentive service in an inviting Spanish themed dining room. Well worth a visit.
Menu is tactically crafted to sound elaborate, delicious & elegant but in reality the food is substandard & probably not what you think you ordered, it’s basically deceiving. Even the host goes over the menu recommendations and it all sounds wonderful (great hostess, btw) but when the plates started arriving we were sadly disappointed & will not return (departed hungry).
The place was nearly empty on a Friday @ 7pm (Holiday w’end) that should have been our first clue after having trouble finding the place (no signage).
The Pop Goes the Chicken, is basically 4 chicken wings (dark meat) with a crumb covering (just say that) on top of a bowl of popcorn. Yes, I said popcorn (wtf)?!
The Bison Meatloaf, was 3 small MeatBALLS (not a loaf) over mashed potatoes. This tasted fine to me but was unfavorable to my guest.
The Mashed Potato Croquettes, were just bland.
We understand tapas but pricing & meals offered were inadequate (overpriced) & again, deceiving. I would have expected more from this particular venue, especially being @ Hotel V. and it simply did NOT deliver on food.
The restaurant, plating & service was exceptional.
The meal wasn’t much at all to write home about, only the sea bass was a bit decent. I was initially looking forward to dessert but we were so disappointed w/ the meals, we declined the dessert menu. The server was nice and listened to how we wanted our cocktail drinks& took out pictures. The place was empty around 8pm on a Friday night & now I understand why.
Interesting fusion. Nice ambiance and friendly service.
The dessert was amazing.
A delightful assortment of ingredients creatively, deliciously prepared and presented at the table with careful timing so that no dish waited so long that it became cold. I’ll definitely recommend this place to friends, family and business acquaintances.
Boring food, awful wine selection. Not worth my money
What a fun place to get together with friends! The new chef came up with creative dishes creatively presented. Our server was fun and amiable. And overall enjoyable experience.
Very original food, and all of it was great. My wife had the filet skewers over gargonzola cheese crepe, and it was the best dish of the night.
Great food to share, world cuisine so there should be something for everyone. Cocktails and wine were great as well
Oveja Negara was difficult to find and has very little signage. I went with my wife and 6 year old son. My son ordered from the child’s menu and we ordered several plates. After $177, out appetites were not satisfied. The food was very good, but not excellent. In general, over-priced for Tapas.
Good tapas spot with a unique yet limited variety of menu items. Part of the restaurant was rented out for a wedding reception so it felt small and outdoor seating was subsequently unavailable. We enjoyed the tastes and varieties of our order but found the prices high for the portions. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come back but a good spot to share tastes with friends before a show or after shopping verses being a date spot
Tapas restaurant: delicious food - small plates. Plus, nice atmosphere. We had spicy cauliflower, a beef dish with blood tortillas, popcorn chicken, and a glaze Chilean bass.
food was good, the overall feeling was cold. The walls need decor and not stark white. The white chairs don't go with the Spanish theme and were a bit awkward with the curved backing. I will definitely give this place another chance as the food was very enjoyable.
The restaurant looks good but the service and food were disappointing. The waiters seemed disheveled and forgot to bring us a few items. The food wasn't good and not worth the price. In fact the fish was old and smelled bad...I ate a piece of it and got extremely sick in about 4 hours. I would suggest that you go elsewhere for a quality time. They need to reevaluate their bussiness!
Loved entire experience
Uninspiring food. Amateur service. Definitely not worth the money
We had high expectations for this restaurant, since it's located within the Hotel Valencia. Although we went early, the place was empty. Not a good sign. The food was very expensive and did not deliver. The tapas we ordered were lukewarm at best, and lacked flavor. The drinks and bartender were good. It's a fun place to have a drink, but I would go elsewhere for a good tapas meal.
