Overall the food was OK - service was slow and unmemorable even though there were only two other tables dining. It's unfortunate that many hotels (including this one) don't get it when it comes to food and beverage experiences. No ambiance other than the building. Empty, cold metal tables with no cushions, nothing set on the tables, poor background music, zero follow up from any staff.

Sad to see that management isn't paying attention, especially since the hotel and the dining area have tremendous potential. When your restaurant is empty, and you can't get a seat on Santana Row as it is booming, that should tell you something.

Best night out in a long time! We ordered the mussels which were my favorite, bone marrow, sea bass which was so buttery and the olives which all paired excellent with a glass of White wine. I can’t wait to visit again!

Once seated it took a good 5 minutes before a server (or anyone) came around only to say they would be right with us. Meanwhile the party of 2 seated after us had their drinks by the time our server got back to us. At this point we had time to decide on everything we wanted to order. Which originally included $100 steak, but because they took so long we opted for the $32 seabass. The first dish came out very quickly. The others lingered a bit. Over all the food was good. The service was so so.

I made reservations for dinner and when we got there they gave us an outside table that had chairs that were hard metal and that clearly would normally have cushions on them. We asked for a table inside and they moved us to a side area that had no ambiance whatsoever. We decided to just have a drink and my Manhattan was watery and had .... a Red Dye Maraschino Cherry.. Pretty bad.. I went up to the service bar to pay my bill and it was dirty and had stuff all over the bar surface. All told I was really surprised at how bad the overall experience was: given that this is in the Valencia hotel in Santana Row.

The food was not as expected the wagyu filet was ok not impressed the halibut was amazing but the over all experience fell short. Our meals came out separately from each other one of the guest had to have the food boxed because we were all done eating and my side dishes came way after I was done with the main course. For the cost I expected better service it was a special occasion and I planned the dinner and was disappointed that this is what happened I was quite embarrassed.

The ribeye was the best thing here. Perfect cut, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. Juicy and tender. Melts in your mouth but not too fatty like wagyu. Comes with chimichurri but doesn't even need it.

The rest of the the food was decent but you expect more for the value. Charcuterie selection wasn't great. My lady really liked the mushrooms but I thought they were too salty, so mixed review. The sweet gem salad was decent. I think adding some fruit would have made it exceptional.

What really shines is their service. It was outstanding. Polite attentive service. They took note that it was my lady's birthday as well and brought here a dessert. And luckily they didn't sing, she hates that.

The drinks were good. Tasty and balanced.

Quiet when we went and not too busy. Maybe better environment if not for covid but still nice.

The tapas dishes we ordered were tasty but very small for the price. Very poor value for the price. The waterfalls were very loud under the plastic tent which made conversation strained.

I won’t go again. The place is really nice and the service was good but the food was below average. My husband had the chorizo and patatas. He said it was the worst meal he’s had. I had the chilean sea bass which was ok.

My partner and I have been coming here for a few years now, and each time, we've thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We booked a dinner reservation for valentine's day and had an amazing experience. My only complaint was that they did not have their signature tomahawk chop in the menu, I guess due to a high number of reservations (go figure :-p). That being said, they substituted for an F1 ribeye with chimichurri that was divine. Other highlights included the wonderful wine selection, the gem salad, and the sea bass. The service was attentive, personable, and helped make the experience wonderful for us. If you're looking for a romantic dinner near Santana Row that takes you away from the bustle of the street, that also delivers on delicious food, Oveja Negra is a wonderful choice.

We decided on Oveja Negra for my sons Birthday dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. They have a beautiful tented patio with string lights that make the environment inviting and special. We were well attended by the staff and the food was delicious! My son had the Beef Cheeks and he was very pleased. We were grateful for a wonderful evening in the midst of the dining restrictions. At the end of our meal they surprised us with two complimentary desserts that both were delicious. Thank you for making our night special!!

Visiting Hotel Valencia we decided to try Oveja Negra. We were all surprised on how good the food was. Typically hotel restaurants aren't very good (speaking from experience as I travel all the time) honestly I was shocked. The food was full of flavor and great presentation. The beef cheeks were tender and the potatas bravas were great. The roasted cauliflower was a hit as well. The salted caramel pot de creme was outstanding. We saw the Chef as he was speaking with another table, we flagged him down and told him the food is amazing. He was very gracious and spoke to us for a while. I think he worked at a Michael Mina place. It shows he is talented and we will return. I recommend this restaurant highly.

Service is a little disjointed - entrees come before dishes are cleared from appetizers- wine came half way through the meal despite asking.
I love this place but they need to get the service sorted out - the host is always on his phone and walks around texting - the food is great - location great - they just need to get a grip of service.

While the hotel was very careful that we had a reservation and asked us the COVID questions, and we were impressed with the lovely courtyard as we stepped into the restaurant, our service was not great. The server did not know what my drink was, pretty common, the bar tender did not either. To his credit, he came out to ask us how to make it. The drink made for my husband had very little alcohol in it. She did not know what the term sustainable meant for fish. The beef cheeks which are the signature dish are disgusting. The salad would have better if it had not had so much dressing. The shrimp were pretty bland. Before getting us our bill the waitress said “I guess you aren’t getting dessert”, when she had not asked us nor presented us with a menu. By then the lovely setting’s charm could no longer outweigh the service and we were ready to leave. Won’t be back.

Went for my daughter’s birthday celebration. I thought I choose this restaurant because it was close to where we were staying. We had the cheeseboard which wasn’t very good plus the waiter didn’t even tell us what was on the plate. Next we have the clams The broth was good and she charged us three dollars for bread which I thought was odd. Not sure if I’ll be going back to this restaurant was not impressed

Food was average and not really worth the price. The ambiance was great but there could have been more covid precautions taken, as the tables were not as far apart as shown in the picture. Also there was no attempt to minimize waiter interaction as I’ve seen in other restaurants.
