The service on our visit was mixed up and just plan weird. Our server (female) seemed confused, flakey and a bit eccentric--but not in a good way. We chose a wine, which happened to be from Mexico & her comments about the wine being "interesting" made us question our choice. She queried the chef who recommended a Kunin wine . After a period of time waiting for our wine to be delivered , our server appeared asking--again--if she could get us something to drink. We reminded her about the recommended Kunin. Since she felt the wine should "breath" she said she was giving us a "soft poor", however we each received a full pour of wine. The quality of the food was good, however the rest of our dining experience was puzzling and somewhat comical.

I finally had the opportunity to dine at Oveja Blanca, and I'm already looking forward to coming back. Both my dining partner and I found everything we ordered to be perfectly prepared, with bright, unique flavors. The octopus carpaccio was my favorite hit of the evening, but there were no misses. Service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was upscale without being stuffy.

We loved the service and the food. The steak and pork tacos are excellent, the yellowtail perfectly prepared and the rice pudding super natural. Great selection of wines by the glass. We will be back to try the nachos, octopus, and tuna.

Decided to visit on Valentines Night for the $55/person, three course dinner. Upon arriving we were immediately greeted by our server and promptly seated. We chose the bruschetta, as well as the burrata for our appetizers. Both were great, but the bone marrow bruschetta was to DIE for! I wish I had 20 more orders of it since there were only two pieces, but I'll take what I can get.

Our main courses consisted of the scallops, and the risotto. Both were equally amazing. Could not decide which I loved more.

Can't believe it's our first time visiting but it's definitely on our favorites list.

Wonderful experience! Quaint yet elegant atmosphere. Food was delectable. As vegetarians, we had delicious, quality food. Nachos were to DIE for — we could have ordered several more plates of them. Avocado salad was so refreshing — we savored each piece of greens! Veggie tacos were hearty and fresh. Everything was tasteful and presented artfully. Service was on point — from always getting what we needed to being very pleasant and helpful. All of the staff was lovely. Great ambiance for any occasion Santa Barbara style. You don't want to miss Oveja!

One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. Small menu but everything is great. I am a vegetarian and there are enough wonderful items (my favorite--the purple potato tacos) to enjoy the meal.

We had been to Oveja once before this visit and had a great experience, but this time it was pretty disappointing. We're SB locals, and was just looking for a nice casual Friday night dinner. First off, Tim our server was great so our disappointment didn't have to do with service. One of our apps was the salmon tostada and the tortilla was stale, the Bocal was cold, and tortillas also stale again for the steak tacos and pork bell tacos. I will admit that they were very apologetic, but this was also after our second courses took almost an hour to arrive. There was a larger party and we felt a little forgotten. All in all, I think with Black Sheep and Oveja sharing the same kitchen our table just fell through the cracks this time. Hope it's better next time!

Great food....creative & delicious! We sat outside which could've been very enjoyable except for the fact that the numerous waitstaff used this patio to carry food to their adjoining restaurant (Black Sheep). It felt like we were dining in the middle of the 101 during RUSH HOUR!!! Not much for a relaxed dinner.

Unique Latin American food, well presented. Excellent service but food was slow coming out of the kitchen. Apparently the share a kitchen with the next door restaurant and they haven't ironed out the kinks.

I was very much looking forward to dining here at Oveja Blanca as their website indicated that they served dishes that are a bit difficult to find here in Santa Barbara. For the first part of the evening we had wine and beer along with appetizers at the neighboring Black Sheep. Here we had Wild Boar Ribs and Roasted Bone Marrow along with our wine and beer. The staff was just great. We then moved over to the Oveja side of the establishment to enjoy our dinners. As our starters we had another portion of Roasted Marrow and added Octopus Carpaccio and Little Gem (Burrata, pigs ear, green mole). The four of us then moved on to larger plates including the Braised Rabbit, beef cheeks, seared Yellowtail and one of the specials for the evening. Two nice red wines from Spain then Argentina and we all left happy.

Like the Black Sheep side, our service was great, the staff throughout the restaurant were attentive without being overly visible. Chefs, owners and servers all stopped by to chat and make sure we had a great experience. Service combined with great food leads to a great overall experience. We will certainly return.

Most surprising about this place was the fact that it was not nearly as busy for a Saturday night as it should be given the quality of the experience and food. We have many diferent dining choices here in Santa Barbara and I am hoping that more prople will dine here to keep this restaurant around. They show a willingness to be daring with their preparations. We need more of that here, we have enough of the formulaic places.

We were seated on the small patio parallel to the sidewalk--it's great for people-watching and there was not a lot of traffic noise. We ordered 4 different dishes (tapa-sized): beef cheek taco, scallop crudo, pickled beet salad, and ahi ceviche. Each was incredibly tasty and we felt a little guilty disturbing their artistry. We felt very "European" in that the service was attentive but not intrusive, and we could have lingered as long as we liked if we had not had to leave to attend a concert. (That being said, our reservation was for 6:00 pm and there was not a large crowd by the time we left, so there was no rushed atmosphere.) Definitely going to go back!

Delicious food, perhaps not surprising from the well-known Black Sheep kitchen. This sister site has a nice dining room, attentive and knowledgeable staff, and good wine selection. Every bite worthy of attention as you enjoy.

Met friends there for dinner. Amazing tapa style appetizers. The natillas and the tres leches cake were over the top amazing. Three hours flew by! And the staff did not rush us, service perfect. Chef even came out to the tables. Will return.

The restaurant's decor and music has a wonderful Latin vibe to it. My husband and I sat outside, and our server let us know that he'd be happy to turn on the heater at any time if we needed it. Our server was knowledgeable about the wine list and recommended a crisp and intriguing Grenache Gris Rose from Santa Barbara County. We started our meal with an heirloom tomato salad that included a side of divine bleu cheese. My husband had the octopus carpaccio, which he said was excellent. I had the salmon tostada, which was scrumptious - the crunch of the tostada paired well with the firmness of the salmon. We shared the beef cheeks which were fork tender and flavorful with their warm spices. For dessert we tried the natillas, a sort of Spanish creme anglaise served with sugar cookies. I liked it so much the chef's father came out and told me the recipe and where to buy the lovely dessert dishes it was served in. (World Market) We can't wait to return for another delicious time!

Dinner at Oveja Blanca was one of the most spectacular meals I've ever had: meticulously prepared, exquisitely presented, and delicious beyond measure. Robert Perez is indeed an extraordinarily talented chef. We will definitely be back, and we've recommended it to all our friends who appreciate outstanding food. The staff is knowledgable and courteous, adding to the ambience of the evening.

Fantastic restaurant serving Latin American styled food. The blue potato tacos, kale nachos and deep-fried frog legs are wonderful. Love the small plate concept--try as many different things as you can. And if the pork belly taco is offered as a special, get it.

A great find in Santa Barbara. The staff was the highlight, followed by healthy, creative food. I would suggest dining on the terrace as the indoor dining space wasn't all that compelling. I would definitely go back again and recommend to others.

Wow! Our meal at Oveja Blanca was superb! Our group opted for the chef's tasting menu & we were so glad we did! We were amazed at the amount of dishes the chef sent out & each one was unique & delicious. Service was excellent and we had a fantastic evening.
