Quality and delicious food for a good price. The steak frites and Thai Chicken curry were delicious. The Blondie dessert was also amazing.
Great group dinner spot. Food was unexpectedly good - eclectic menu, well prepared. Drinks great and service on point.
We made reservations and came in right on time and no one acknowledged us for a long time. We waited over 20 minutes for our table after we noticed several people being helped that came after us get a table and they completely forgot about our reservations. They quickly had to push some tables around to get us seated. Other than that the service was good, and food was good.
Overall an experience with repeating. The food was unique and delightful however they felt a bit understaffed for New Year’s Eve. It should be noted the food was a tad pricey so beware.
The Saturday brunch that we had at Outlier was a bit underwhelming. We found the food to be a little more expensive than it needed along with the fact that the place was under staffed.
Hotel restaurant, with overpriced food and poor service. The space is nice, we came to dine before seeing a show at the 5th, and had a early reservation so the dining room was mostly empty. There were people at the bar for happy hour. With an open kitchen, and plenty of staff, only two tables to serve, or service was nonexistent. Server was not able to answer menu questions and did not go and ask someone else to get answers, so we ordered and did not see server again until food was served. No drink refills, nothing. The food was well prepared and all of our dishes was good. Nothing was great, steak frites had nicely fried potatoes that were not seasoned at all. Swordfish prep was simple and seasoned well. Porkchop was cooked perfectly, the prep was messy, difficult to eat, and bland.
Not a horrible experience, the meal was OK. For the price point, very underwhelmed. Would possibly go back for happy hour, but not for dinner.
The worst restaurant experience in Seattle since we moved here. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks from the order. Appetizer came before our drinks. Service was unfriendly. Food was the quality of a local diner.
We chose the Outlier since it was in the Hotel Monaco we were staying for Christmas Eve. We had dinner around 8 pm and they were busy and it looked pretty under staffed. We were seated to the far side of the dining room and we think this contributed to our waiter being pretty distracted and not attentive. The cocktails took way too long, we would see our food being prepared then it would sit way too long up on the counter before it was brought to us, one entree was not entered in the computer so it never came, but they gave it to us at the end for no charge. Overall we definitely recommend the Outlier if you are staying in the Hotel or close by, but it wouldn't be a destination choice. Food was excellent definitely a 4.5.
The food and drinks were good but they sat us in the back and it took the server almost 20 minutes to find us. During the meal the server did not check on us almost at all, it took a really long time to get us our drinks, when those drinks were empty we had to get up and flag down the server to come take the order for another drink which took another 20 minutes to arrive. During that time the server didn't come to tell us why anything was taking so long so we got up again to ask the bartender ourselves what was going on. Then finally we got the last drink and we told him to bring the check right then because we didn't know when we'd see him again. Great food but at those prices service should be good to spectacular, not worse than your average Red Robin.
I had been to Outlier previously for a weekday lunch and had an exceptional meal and service. I expected the same for our Sunday brunch outing but was quite disappointed. The service not only was slow, our server was quite inattentive. Fewer stars on value as the food was good but not great for the price. Given my previous experience, I’d try it again for a weekday lunch.
Great Brussel Sprouts, mushrooms, and kale salad. Pasta dishes left something to be desired. Duck was fair at best. Drink service was a bit slow. Would have been nice to have some shellfish on the menu.
Loved the THAI CHICKEN KHAO SOI - rich, complex flavors and textures
Too noisy! Conversation was difficult. Not appropriate for a business lunch.
Ordered a pizza which was soggy. Ordered swordfish and the accompaniments were bland. Nothing special. There are so many restaurants in the city that serve better food for the same price. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
The food and service were excellent. Noise level very high.
Their burger is one of my favorites in Seattle and I love that they will cook it medium for you!
The drinks and Brussel Sprouts were the high lights of the meal. Our server was a little to enthusiastic about everything on the menu, making it difficult to discern his recommendations. The space has a nice feel to it, but the chair choice can make getting in and out of the table difficult.
We had an amazing meal at Outlier with friends and family. The Steak Coulette Frites was outstanding. They were even willing to substitute their incredible duck fat fries (instead of the frites) as a gluten-free option for a couple of us in our party who have Celiac. The Duck Bolognese was to die for. Great ambiance and wonderfully attentive wait staff. Another nice tip that we discovered by accident, is that the Kimpton Hotel Monaco next door has free valet parking for up to two hours when you eat at Outlier. We plan to go back very soon!
The setting is creative. But too many hard services make for too much noise. The receptionist was indifferent to our arrival and offered no assistance with hanging coats on a poorly placed rack that had flimsy hangers. The food was good but the seating was uncomfortable.
Food was very tasty. But service was a bit slow and awkward. Multiple times left sitting with empty drink glasses, paused meal, or asked to clear plate while still actively eating. But food was excellent. I'd go back.
Very interesting menu. Unusual combinations, lots of color. Carrot dish was exceptional. Great pierogies
We made a reservation, when we arrived the restaurant was pretty much empty, no host in site, one server. The rest of our group was at the table, they had been given coffee and water but no menus. We joined them and then waited. And waited. No menus, no coffee, nothing. We got our own menus and continued to wait, as other guests wandered in and mostly sat themselves. At most the restaurant was a quarter full. We found a bus boy who brought us coffee but said the waiter would come soon and take orders. We saw a lone waiter out busing tables, chatting with others, finally got his eye and let me know one of our party had to leave by the end of the hour (we have already been there 25 minutes). He took our orders and we waited some more. FINALLY her meal came, leaving her about 5 minutes to eat and run. The food was okay, not great, not terrible. Our daughter ordered a cup a tea with her meal which only came after several reminders, after she was done eating. So no, I don't recommend this place. The food was just okay, the service pretty hopeless, the atmosphere rather cold and sterile. Hopefully they will get their act together in the future.
Had Thanksgiving buffet, food was delicious. Would have given 5 stars but they were out of a dessert.
Thanksgiving 2018. No meal description, just chef favorites. We wanted to give it a try. From start to finish, excellent service. They were energetic, attentive. There were small groups and large groups. We asked our waiter Chris about buffet dish favorites. We tried everything but Chris was right in his suggestions. Dressing and green beans were the best. We especially liked the turkey leg confit and duck. The desserts were wonderful (no pumpkin pie or pecan pie), bread pudding, pumpkin cheesecake and berry cobbler. The most interesting dish was the butternut pear soup. Our waiter Chris was excellent and made sure to invite us to visit again.
Went there for Thanksgiving dinner buffet. The food was fine but not great. The food wasn't that hot, so the warming pans weren't doing their job. For the price we paid, it should have been amazing. Our server was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. He exaggerated the quality of some of the dishes. Overall an ok but not wonderful experience.
I ordered a simple salad with salmon added and was pleased to find the salmon was done perfectly; some of the tastiest I've had in Seattle - which is saying a lot! The salad itself was fresh and tasty. Our server, Chris, was pleasant, helpful, and fantastically quick.
Food was tasty, ambience was cozy and service was very good
Had a great experience here. Speedy service and delicious food. Highly recommend!
Great service by Javier! Javier is friendly, happy and great at his job
Waiter was really friendly and couldn’t have been more accommodating with my gluten free diet issues. My friend and I also really loved our meals and mimosas!
We really enjoyed sharing small plates. Our favorites were the curried carrots and flat bread. Really creative interesting dishes. We will definitely go back.
We dropped in for a quick bite which took longer than we thought to get served. I had the albacore tuna salad with a side of duck fat fries. The tuna was a big slab seared on one one side and semi-raw in the other which was ok but just did not look that appetizing. The pea vines were stringy and tough and didn’t add to the dish - better to have just stuck with mixed lettuce. When I got the duck fat fries I was surprised that they were fingering potatoes under a heap of grated cheese and asked to send them back. The explanation was really misleading and didn’t give any indication they were not real fries. I send them back and the waitress was great. My husband had the duck pasta- tasty but too much pasta and it overwhelmed the dish.
Snapper was tasty but served in a bowl with broth, but with a fork. Should have been described as soup and a spoon provided.
Server was confused a few times. The bread that we ordered to eat until our entrees were ready wasn't brought out until after the entrees were served. Server misremembered the desserts and had to go back to the table twice to ask for 2nd and 3rd choices.
The restaurant's practice of stating the price and then adding a 5% surcharge that doesn't even go to the servers continues to offend. Just raise the prices to cover Seattle's labor costs. Putting a line of tiny print in the bottom of the menu appears intended to deceive. This is a permanent rise in wages in Seattle, not something that's going to go away. This restaurant is not a chain so you don't have to have your prices match the rest of the chain; just have the food prices reflect what you pay in wages just like every other restaurant.
OK as a hotel restaurant. The atmosphere was not impressive. The menu looked good online but in person was also quite average. It wasn't bad. But it wasn't great.
limited salad and vegetarian options (sides but no entree) but fresh veggies, too oily on baked/fried front; no soup
Small plates were tasty and innovative. Curried carrots, wild mushroom toast, Brussels sprouts. Rockfish was messy to eat by hand and the accompaniments did not compliment the fish. Wait staff were attentive but not intrusive. Like so many new restaurants the noise level made conversation difficult for all of us and impossible for one person with hearing aid.
I have eaten here monthly since mid 2016 for business lunches and the food and service is always good or great. Unfortunately the new design of the restaurant is 100% hard surfaces with zero acoustic treatments, so even at lunch it’s very difficult to hold a conversation above the noise level. That might be ok for the evening crowd but it’s bad for a business lunch. I can’t imagine how the staff deal with it!
For now we have decamped to Trace across the street where you can actually have a conversation. Hopefully Outlier can address this design issue and we will return!
Brinch 2 days ini a row staying at hotel. Missed tge mark on few things. Food made w quality ingrefients but every dush missed an element on flovor profiles. Missing either salt or acid or herb or spice. Sas because jt coykd be great. Potentially a brunch issue. We hasvtheur foodcat the Big WA wine rastingbandvit was fabulous there! So maybe a brunch issue.
Despite running late with traffic we were seated and served very promptly, service was great. Food was unique with very fresh ingredients. Cucumber salad was fresh and light and the Pierogi was a delicious hearty vegetarian dish.
