Server is excellent. Food is good, even if the menu is a bit shorter than some others.
Very noisy and food was not worth the price paid.
Food ok but menu limited to just plain weird items.
Delicious food and very friendly, helpful servers!!!!
Dining at Outlier was truly enjoyable. The menu had just been updated, sadly the meal I had picked from their menu online was no longer available, but our server was helpful in choosing a new option. He communicated with the kitchen to ensure that my meal would be gluten free and offered substitutions when necessary.
Food is good....but for the 2nd time service was poor.
Tried this contemporary American restaurant for breakfast. Besides the usual standards the kitchen offers some creative and unusual takes on old favorites. I quite enjoyed the duck confit hash. This is not for the quick fast food breakfast but if you want a leisurely quality meal while downtown, I’d recommend it.
I enjoy coming to this place because it’s different. I have yet to have a bad meal or drink here so I’m always thinking of this place first to bring friends and colleagues who are from out of town so I can give them something uniquely Seattle. With that being said, this particular meal was nice and all the ingredients were beautifully presented and fresh but a little underwhelming as far as flavours...was hoping for a more lip smacking, “this is really tasty” experience this evening. The silver lining: My dining companion is a definite foodie from British Columbia and seemed to enjoy her meal, so I’m happy with our decision to dine here. I will be back for future visits because I like it but I’m hoping for a bigger wow factor like the first few times I’ve been. :)
Went there for seafood Laksa on the menu but the item was sold out (9pm dinner). Went for pizza instead - good taste pizza but not necessarily best value for money. I’d consider going back again to try their laksa.
My family and I visited Seattle and stayed at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Seattle. I had read great reviews for Outlier, which was located right at the hotel, and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The food was great, and the service was even better. Be sure to try the Duck Fat Fries, Charred Cabbage & Potato Pierogi, and Duck Bolognese.
Food and service was good. Sat at table near open door to hotel lobby so it’s was drafty and cold. I should have asked for a different table. I also thought 18% gratuity was added but the tip line said 0 so I added 20%. Turned out I double tipped. My fault again for not asking to be sure.
Brought a client here for lunch. Overall food was good, but I can’t give it five stars yet as I didn’t try much on the menu. The mushroom burger and duck fat fries were excellent. The fries were more like potato wedges, but they were still great.
Nice, cool ambiance. I could see this being a good spot for a lunch date, happy hour or casual dinner.
The duck bolo is AMAZING!
Went here with my girlfriend for dinner before a show. The location is ideal and the layout is nice. Booths were comfortable and quiet. Service was good.
The food, however, was not good. I ordered the mushroom burger. The bun was dry and bunt. There might have been three mushrooms on the burger, along with a piece of lettuce. The burger itself lacked flavor. For $18, I expect more. Girlfriend ordered the duck, which was served around a pile of what looked like cabbage (didn't seem to be what the duck should be paired with). The duck wasn't dry, but it was quite bland.
All-in-all, good location, service, and ambiance, but poor quality food, especially for the price.
Great food and service .
The pizza is amazing
Creative food with great flavors. I liked that they were able to accommodate my various food intolerances. Everything that we ordered was delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful. Glad they leave a water jug at the table so you don't have to hunt someone down, but our server was attentive so no hunting was necessary.
We were in Seattle on St. Patrick's Day and happened on The Outlier quite by accident. We were pleasantly surprised by the snappy décor, nice service and great food. I had a seafood Laksa which was excellent with fresh seafood and a wonderful curry/coconut sauce. My wife had a pizza which also was well done. We will go back there.
P.S. Don't miss the imaginative mural painted on the walls above the dining room ... fun to look at.
Nice ambiance, eclectic menu & great service from Brad made a great time with friends/ colleagues.
Service was friendly, knowledgeable and quick. Interesting and tasty food!
Great food, wonderful staff
Our server Chris was excellent and Sean in the kitchen made everything SO delicious!!
Extremely slow service though the actual servers were very nice. Food was good, drinks were only so-so but for the price definitely not worth it. In the area we were seated, the tables were so close together that there wasn’t even really enough elbow room between us and the couples sitting next to us. Overall it just wasn’t a good experience and I can not recommend it to others.
Great ambiance, spacious, great food, and great service!!!
Awful in many wAys. Poor service, overpriced , mediocre food.
The atmosphere is modern and fun. My friend and I had dinner here on Valentine’s Day, so they were only offering a prix fixe dinner menu. The cauliflower soup with Dungeness crab was so delicious. We had one each of the entrées and shared them. We had roast chicken served with wonderful grilled brussels sprouts and lardons on a bed of mashed celery root, and a fillet served on fancy hashbrowns and creamed spinach. The filet melted in our mouths and we loved everything but the creamed spinach. For dessert we got one each of a chocolate cake and the pears stewed in red wine served with mascarpone. The cake smelled and tasted a bit stale, but it came with amazing raspberry crisps made of caramelized sugar. The pears were good but the sauce was a little too “interesting” in a way we couldn’t quite identify. We did not finish either one. Overall, I would probably eat here again, but will not make a special effort to come back.
Really bad experience. Slow service. Steak was ordered medium, but was presented undercooked to the point of being unsafe. This was our third try on this place - we won’t be returning.
Went here for Valentines day which had a special menu provided however my husband has celiac disease so they allowed us to order from the menu. Food was very flavorful. The appetizer carrot vadouvan dish was amazing. Also had the steak and frites which had good flavor and potatoes were nice and crispy. Had a squash salad which was ok but nothing amazing and the cheesecake as we were able to get it without crumbles so was gluten free. Cheesecake didn't have a lot of flavor but maybe that was because we didn't have the crumbles too. Overall it was a good meal, friendly service and fun ambiance.
Pretty good valentine's day meal
Very disappointing Valentine experience. First Open Table shows about $30/person when it is closer to $60. When we arrived, we were given a table in a dark spot next to the bar. We asked for a booth and hostess told us we would have to wait with no offer of a better location. The table next to us was declined by the next five patrons who were offered better seating. We were only offered a prix-fixe menu for Valentine Day with two options. Other tables seemed to be able to order other items off the regular menu, but we were not given any other options. We both had the filet which was very good. The space is concrete, steel and chain link. It is loud and dark. To top it off, they added a surcharge to the bill which was NOT disclosed on any menu. Other places in Seattle don’t have hidden charges. When I asked the hostess about the surcharge, she first pointed out the price for the meal, when I clarified that a surcharge is not the price, the hostess told us that is was required by Seattle and then said "would it make you feel any better to talk to the manager". This seemed like a blow off and we let it go rather than pursue it then and further spoil the evening. Undisclosed fees are simply unacceptable (& possibly illegal). The prices in the menu should be the cost, not a lower limit plus whatever the establishment decides to add.
Great food. I had the salmon sandwich with fries. The salmon was flavorful and the fries were perfect! Service was awesome.
Service was decent food was not.
Very disappointing experience! Horrible overhead spotlights shining in our eyes. 2 of the entrees on the menu are pizzas - they were not available on a Saturday night! Duck breast was a salad but no reference to it being a SALAD - offered as an entree. Waited 15 minutes for a beer and glass of wine , after being seated. Service was rather condescending and we were then ignored.
Would not recommend this restaurant for dining. Perhaps the bar experience is better.
Staff did not mention until ordering that the woodfired pizza oven was broken. decided to leave as other food selection not really wanted. place was mainly empty and soulless.
probably best for just a drink.
Food was delicious. But service was very poor. Had to ask for knife multiple times, wasn't offered dessert and barely saw our server. The lighting was also odd. Felt like we were in a cafeteria. Made a reservation for 4, but got a table meant for 5 which made it difficult for everyone to converse.
Great happy hour. Then we moved to the restaurant for dinner. A menu with a lot of variety and the food was excellent. The dessert menu had excellent choices as well.
Our server was excellent - and made our experience here even better. My dinner was on the lighter side - roasted carrots with several other tastes to combine with it (as directed by the server) to create a wonderful blend of flavors.
Fantastic! The fried chicken sandwich was so crispy and delicious. My entire party of 7 loved their food and cocktails. Can't wait to return!
It was a great experience. Our server Chris was fantastic explained everything and went above and beyond to make sure we have a great lunch. Food was great tasting and looked fantastic.
Delicious mushroom pizza. Okay duck bolognese. Service was odd--delayed and awkward at 11:20 am, then hyperactive for a bit, then delayed and awkward near check time. I'll be back but wasn't any more than pleased/okay/content overall.
The food was very good. We had the carrot starter which was by far the most unique dish we had. Very good. We also shared a bunch of other plates like the laksa, the roasted chicken and the steak frites. Each was well done and tasted good. They had a limited wine list and some interesting cocktails. We had a very attentive server who kept us well fed and with full glasses.
