The food at Outlier is American in every sense of the word. Not bound by tradition or notions of authenticity, Chef Anthony Sinsay draws on his Filipino heritage and the freshest Pacific Northwest ingredients to make simple, approachable fare as distinctive as the country itself.
The local landscape is constantly evolving, and so are the people who cultivate it. Outlier is an expression of that ever-changing story, as told through our food and cocktails.

Unfortunately our experience at best was just ok. Our server was unfriendly and could hardly bring herself to speak to us or make eye contact. She could not bring herself to say hello just "can I get a drink started for you?" The chicken was good and the mint was a delightful touch but unfortunately it stopped there. The potatoes it came with were flavorless and the cauliflower we got as a side was cold in the middle as was our bread starter. As our night came to a close our server didn't even offer a thank you or have a good night. She cleared our plates and tossed our check on the table with nothing else to offer. In a town with so much to offer the culinary scene dinner left us feeling like we made a poor selection.
Fine-dining prices, mediocre food and poor service. Very noisy, more a bar ambience than restaurant. Server was never around and always in a hurry. Given the many fantastic dining choices in Seattle, Outlier needs to up its game to be competitive.
Had a wonderful dinner here before going to a concert at Benaroya. Really nice space, and I really like how they've arranged their booths. A bit loud, but what restaurant isn't these days? Menu is a little on the smaller side, but that's not a bad thing. Everything sounded amazing, so picking dishes was still challenging. Food was delicious! We ordered the Caesar salad, salmon, and the Pancit PNW. There is an option to add chicken to the Pancit PNW which was tasty but not worth the $6 extra. My only complaint is that it ended up being a pretty expensive dinner. The service was great. A bit more on the leisurely side, so we ended up not having time for dessert, but I never felt forgotten about or neglected. Overall great time, and I look forward to trying out more items on the menu.
Our Server (Javier) took the time to explain all the choices and his recommendations... We were happy with his attention to detail and service.
I joined a friend from out of town for a leisurely lunch and both of us thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service and the ambiance. I will definitely return and recommend the restaurant to others.
Was a full hour for brunch, with one drink and one entree each. Server didn't even refill our water glass. Underwhelming at best.
Pre Seahawks breakfast! 4 out of towners chose your place for breakfast. Omelets were great.
They seemed understaffed and were out of items. The bartender was late so we had to wait a while till we could order drinks. The staff they did have on were great. Our server and the host were very pleasant and the teamwork there was refreshing to see. The food was impeccable.
Our dinner at Outlier was one the highlights of my recent Seattle trip. The industrial-inspired and modern decor, the courteous staff, and of course, the eclectic and oh-so-delicious food, made our experience a great one. Executive Chef Sinsay brilliantly marries the traditional flavors and local ingredients of the PNW and combines it with subtle hints of SE Asian flavors. This combination makes his menu extremely unique and exceptionally delicious. My favorite dishes: Binchotan Grilled Oysters, Whole fish crudo and the Ube Dessert. You can’t go wrong!
Really great food, fast seating. Noise level is a bit on the loud side at lunch, but otherwise everything is great!
A great spot in Seattle. You can enjoy a nice casual lunch or business lunch in this restaurant.
Great lunch spot but VERY loud. Space could use some soft acoustic surfaces.
Salmon rice bowl was delicious!
It was overwhelmingly loud. I’ve never written this about a restaurant before. The 4 of us at our table literally could not hear each other.
We went there on a Saturday night. We expected it to be a popular spot based on reviews. We sat on the patio outside and there we no other patrons at 8pm. Inside there we only a few people at the bar. Food and service was good. But very overpriced based on the what we got. Menu pretty limited. We won’t be dining there again.
We are locals and ended up learning about Outlier through OpenTable as we wanted a dinner spot with outdoor seating and all our regular places were booked during SeaFair weekend. We saw it was downtown, the menu looked good, they had a patio and thought why not? Huge mistake. On the reservation, we noted we wanted patio seating. When we arrived, they said it was closed because they didn't have enough staff. Sadly, there were more employees in the restaurant than customers. The only thing good with our meal were the salads, the chicken skewer appetizer was the worst thing I've ever had and the pizza was average at best. This is clearly a hotel restaurant that is not targeting local people. Total mistake on our part. Next time will wait it out with our better known, established places.
not a good place to discuss business, too loud. good for social gatherings
The food was creative and very tasty.
Service was excellent
Food was good, much better than we would have expected from a hotel based on past experience. The service was....odd and that detracted from the experience.
Had brunch here with my dad and we absolutely loved it. Food and atmosphere was great and our server was very accommodating.
This is the 2nd year we have eaten at Outlier during the busy Pride parade, and they have managed to be outstanding. Despite being swamped on one of the busiest days of the year, we received timely and cheerful service, warm and accurate (and yummy!) food, and did not feel rushed to leave our table. Well done!
They were very accommodating and the staff was fun and on top of things. It's becoming our team "go to" place as it's near the office and there's enough variety on the menu that everyone is satisfied.
Food was tasteless. I don't agree with their reasoning for passing the minimum wage burden to the consumers. It is not a fast food chain restaurant. For the price of their food, they should be able to pay their employees fair wages.
Waited 10 minutes to be seated/greeted at 8 PM on a Thursday. Burger was over cooked and underwhelming with what seemed like a McDonalds bun for $18. The side salad was tasty and fresh, so maybe stay away from red meat at this location. The service was average and disappointing contrary to the reviews. As a business traveler from SF, I’d suggest other locations to check out authentic Seattle.
Wonderful atmosphere, and food was on point tasting delicious. Order the roasted chicken, you won't be disappointed.
Loved the atmosphere and the food was fantastic!
Everything was great!
The food was excellent, the service was excellent and the ambiance was perfect. This was for my husband’s birthday and it did not disappoint.
The outlier was an amazing restaurant! My friends and I had great fun there. The food was amazing, the chef was friendly, and the service was great! I really enjoyed my time there.
The ambiance is modern, the bar has a good selection and tasty cocktails. Unfortunately they food is overpriced and uninspiring. The food attempts to be eclectic, but for tapas the portions were smaller than expected and they were missing taste. The muscles were Thai based, super salty with a tasteless curry. The Oysters were super small and only had a vinegar based compliment with it. The Tostada was super small. The only good dish was the Ahi Tuna dish. Honestly, I rather go to Elliots, pay more and get better food.
Nice and close to a large amount of businesses, including mine, in the area for a nice sit down lunch.
Terrible experience for mothers day, super expensive brunch buffet, the pastries were old, a hard scone and a dry croissant, the beef started ok but with each cut, it started to be fatter and fatter, the seafood was flavorless completely, I don't know if was because it was a buffet that they forgot to have people in service, no service at all, I order an orange juice that never came.
I was here for drinks a year ago and I recommend this place, at that time was fine, for mother's day it was a disappointing experience ruining the mother's day brunch.
The mothers day brunch buffet was quite wonderful. Amazing crab and prime rib. Cocktails were great too.
Amazing! Loved the food and omg the OJ!! Super friendly staff!
Happy hour wing size (3wings) is embarrassing. Wings tasted great but that’s such a rip off. That’s 1/4 of a pound for $6, don’t be so cheap nobody is expecting that small a size even for $6 should be at least 6 wings.
Didn’t expect to order chicken when PNW area (think salmon) but limited menu choices so I asked server what the top seller is and she said the chicken-so I ordered chicken and it was fabulous! Quite surprised, actually.
Birthday dinner for my husband. I put this in on Open Table. I didn’t expect any perks but would have liked to have been checked on by servers more than a couple of fleeting moments.
Food was good.
Outlier was a fine, not overly memorable, and loud experience. The acoustics of the room are terrible- so many hard surfaces, it wasnt even that crowded and it was hard to have a conversation. The food was good but quite oversalted. The service was fine. Cocktails overpriced. The wine we had, a Bordeaux from Oregon, was the best thing we tried. Unlikely to return, which is a bummer as it’s always hard to find good restaurants downtown.
Great lunch. The food was fast and good and the service excellent.
We were very happy with our choice for Easter brunch. The quality service was perfect. We were surprised to see that the restaurant was not full, which made it relaxing for us.
The meal was good, the service was great. I don't really care for the metal-clad tables...this restaurant does not exude "warmth." The noise was moderate, but I do like how the tables are not one right on top of the other. I was disappointed with the $18 burger, which didn't even come with cheddar cheese (it was cheap american cheese, which certainly has its place, but not on an $18 burger). My friend really enjoyed his chicken bowl, the portion of which was appropriate to the price.
