Wonderful restaurant. Visually appealing, creative drinks and awesome menu. Loved the octopus appetizer.
This is a great place in NYC where you are not pack like sardines and has a beautiful ambiance. The food is good but needs a little more flavour
We had a lovely family dinner on a quiet Monday night, and all really enjoyed the food. Varied, creative, interesting and delicious! Nice selection of mocktails, too. Lovely service, and a truly memorable dinner.
Pros: Gorgeous space. Obviously fresh and quality ingredients. Kind service.
Cons: Pricey. The prices of the wines match that of the food; they could be slightly lower. The food, while delicious, needed salt. A good amount of salt was missing. And I'm not a salt person. Our waitress was sweet but seemed flustered the entire time we were there. Never checked on us. While a good option if you're in the area and catching a movie, there are better places in Midtown to spend this amount of money.
The spreads were outstanding and the meals were excellent! We were a party of five......had five different plates and three sides - and all of them were well presented and tasty. Our server was excellent, the manager ‘noticed’ that we had a birthday at the table and was exceptionally accommodating to our celebrant and the host was very cooperative in seating our table of five when the reservation had been made for four! The validated parking deal makes it reasonable to park, dine and then move the car for the theater district! I will definitely return!
Beautiful restaurant with great food and friendly service. Nice selection of traditional Greek wines by the glass. A little out of the way so not as crowded as many NYC restaurants but definitely worth the little extra effort to get there.
Consistently good food and great prix fixe lunch!
Best service , great atmosphere and great waiters. Food is amazing
The food was very good. My daughter had the grilled octopus and lamb chops. Both were tender and made to perfection. The wait staff is very attentive. I have been here before and, each timethe food has been consistently very good.
Very welcoming pleasant atmosphere. Nice selection well prepared.
Excellent helpful staff
What a great find! The menu is stellar, with all kinds of options for at all kinds of price points. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were a party of three. I had the tuna tartare, my friends had the flatbread, lemon chicken soup and the lamb buns. Everything was delicious. We topped it off with a chocolate torte and 3 scoops of different ice cream/sorbet. We will be back!
Love the dips and the salads here.
Meh. I had read a lot about this place and it was consistently rated high, but it was underwhelming. Be it the wine, cocktail, dip, small plate or large plate, nothing was bad, but nothing was great either. There wasn't any depth of flavor in any dish, the pistachio dip was bland, pork ribs only tasted of the BBQ sauce smothered on top without any flavor in the meat itself and the cauliflower falafel had a weird bitterness to it. Overall, the food is a solid 6/10. However, the prices are so high that that I can't recommend this place. We spent $150 for two people, which is in line with some of the great restaurants of New York. Skip this and go to those.
Salad disappointing. Sliders to spicy sent back. Lamb chops very good. Good service!
Had a fantastic brunch! I brought my friends who were in town from Australia and they loved it! Great food, great service and I loved the ambience here! I will definitely be coming back soon.
Beautiful ambiance and nice menu selection. Service was average, not attentive and my food although delicious was served Luke warm. Not much on the plate but the pita side order helped.
Lovely food. Service needs to be a little more attentive. We waited forever for our cocktail and by the time it came food had already come. A cocktail should be served before food. It is not wine. Hard to get waitress attention when we needed it, though it was not crowded. I predict that this will be a very successful place though because the food is really delicious. Good luck!!!
Great cocktails, great atmosphere, and even better food. Large assorment of Mediterranean cuisine and even some with a modern take. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!
The food was delicious, but the service is what stood out. We will definitely be back!
Great food, wine and service, but dessert (chocolate cake) was dry and disappointing. Would definitely go back. Yummy!
We had walked by Ousia many times on our way to the movie theater nearby. Now we're wondering why we didn't stop in sooner? This is an excellent "updated greek" restaurant. The plates are thoughtfully prepared and presented. We made a dinner of small plates, including the excellent grilled octopus and the meatballs. Even something normally pedestrian, like the taramasalota with crudites was very, very good with some interesting radishes included. The staff is friendly and attentive and there's actually some space between the tables so it doesn't feel overcrowded. We'll be back!
Friends in town from Sacramento and Ann Arbor meant taking them to Ousia which is my new fav place to introduce to people. I love the vibe. But the food and wine selection is also varied and expertly prepared. Four of us arrived a bit early, two enjoyed cocktails and two wine before the rest of our crew showed up. We did a lot of sharing and everything was great... the pies, the gnocchi, the steamed lamb buns! Oh, my.
In addition to being a gastronomic delight the people at Ousia—all of them—are welcoming, warm and a lot of fun.
Nice ambience but food disappointed a bit. I have Greek friends so I have had delicious homemade dishes. These did not meet that standard. Presentation was nice and food tasty for the most part but nothing to write home about. It was quite crowded so they must be doing something right. Bar looked fun and inviting. We didn’t have drinks.
I have dined at Ousia several times but this last time I took a friend who had never been there. We shared several small plates and dessert and he thought the food was sublime and the ambience lovely. Ousia now has a new fan.
Good meeting over great food
We come often. Love all the spreads. Have the hanger steak and the lamb chops. Great salads.
I had been following this restaurant on Instagram prior to our New York visit. On the last night I realised it was just down the street from our hotel so perfect after a long day sightseeing.
The waitress was very helpful and the food delicious. I would recommend it to anyone staying in the Hells Kitchen area.
very disappointed in the quality of their foods - fish, salads, etc. service is okay, polite but not very warm.
Must say for all the excellent Greek restaurants in the city this was disappointing. Food was mediocre and our server was fair.
I wanted to take a friend out for a “special dinner”. This was perfect Quiet enough to have an easy conversation. Tables far enough apart, food was excellent, service excellent. Loved it. ( And it’s steps away from the movie theater)
It was lovely and leisurely . One of my favorite eateries.
Loved this spot! Food was delicious, portions were good, service was IMPECCABLE. The wait staff were really kind, attentive, and helpful. Will definitely be returning again.
Wonderful meal. We come often. Went for the Lobster moussaka. Terrific dish. Awesome staff. Great bar scene.
I took a client for lunch and we appreciated the low noise level and creative selection of delicious Mediterranean choices.
While it's a trek to get there, everyone really enjoyed their meal and the room is nice a cozy. The service was a bit slower than expected given that there were only a handful of tables with guests. Still glad to have this in the neighborhood.
We went to Push a because of its closeness to the Landmark theater. It was good enough that I would go out of my way to go there. It is lovely. The dinner menu offers appetizers small plates medium plates and large plates. We had fabulous Greek salads, I had the medium grilled octopus plate. My partner had gyro sliders. Both were delicious. The shredded phylo dessert was FABULOUS. Prices are NY reasonable.
Perfect dining location for before/after a movie at the beautiful Landmark Theater. Terrific appetizers with excellent taramousalata, hummus, eggplant; sharable plates include yummy spinach pies; enough big plates to satisfy the hungriest in the group. Solid wine list. Check out the loukoumades for dessert.
I was looking for a true greek food experience, I did not get it, the food was more of a greek infusion. Next time I will go to Uncle Nicks. The our waiter was supper great! And the place was very nice.
Both food and service are top notch!
Wonderful food and terrific service. Would definitely go back.
