Food was basically good. My appetizer of Octopus was meager and very salty. Main course of stuffed pepper was tasty and almond cake dessert was very good but baklava was dry. Service was excellent. Friend had appetizer of meatballs with cumin which looked very good. Salad served with fish was too salty. We liked fact that it was moderately quiet.
We were 4 people who all had excellent meals. Not a poor dish in the bunch. This is why Ousia is one of my favorites
I would go back. The ambience and service were great. The food was unbelievable.
Great service and staff. Very prompt and accommodating. Loved the meal presentation.
The space is amazing. But, the service lacked lack lustre.
We got there around 7 or before and didn't leave for 3.5 hour. That was a long time.
Our drinks took forever. When the drinks were brought over, one drink was missed. Had to ask for it.
The appetisers came out and Again, one item was missed and had to be asked for.
There was some sort of miscommunication between the staff. We were half way through eating dinner and I saw another staff member bring our dessert. There were exchanges between the staff and the guy with dessert huffed and puffed and went back
The dessert was dry and not the greatest.
I don't understand why it took so long and why things were missed. Since the restaurant was not busy.
I like and give good reviews. It really has to be not good for me to talk about it.
The food was delicious and the staff wonderful (although one member told us that dessert was not included on the restaurant week menu for lunch although it was on line- however our server knew better and he brought us dessert). They allowed us to sit for 2 hours undisturbed and could not have been nicer.
Lovely room as well.
Would love to return.
We love the Greek cuisine and Ousia did not disappoint.
We'll be back!
My Niece was in town. She is a Vegan so I wanted to make sure she had a great meal. Not just take her to a restaurant and hope she could find something on the menu. The food and service were great. To my surprise my meal was delicious and as a Non-Vegetarian/Vegan I will be back!
A solid restaurant with interesting food. Prices are a bit on the high side but overall a nice place for a quick dinner.
Went for brunch before a film at the Landmark. The restaurant is beautiful and very comfortable. The food was very good although at brunch not very complex. I had the Greek Diner (eggs, toast, bacon, lemon potatoes). Others had the hamburger, the kale salad and the yogurt. We all enjoyed our meals. The location is not ideal as it's very far West. Will definitely go back.
It was my second time there. This time around we came late to dinner 9:15 pm. Still the Resteurant was full and bustling. Yet another great experience. The food was very good. Our friends wanted wine instead of sangeria and that was a bit difficult to compare Greek wines to French... but we still had good!
Also they ran out of two of my favorite authentic Greek deserts.
Overall great place, food, ambiance.
We are so lucky to have Ousia in the neighborhood. But even if it required more than several blocks walk, we would go to Ousia because the food is excellent, the room is handsome and service is casual but very good. This time I tried the special swordfish and really enjoyed it. The spreads are delicious too (as is the pita which comes with the spreads or can be ordered on its own). We have eaten at Ousia many times now and each time have had delicious food.
Food good but service so-so
Waiter with little knowledge of wine. We ordered a salad and asked if it would suffice for 2- told not but it certainly could. We asked that a hot appetizer be served post salad but it came with the salad and while still eating the appetizers, entrees served. Had to ask for utensils for the entree and had to ask for tablecloth to be cleaned post entree.
There was a large selection of Greek and Greek inspired foods to choose from. I liked the choice of soups, appetizers, medium plates and main plates so you could mix and match and in that way share the tastes.
Our server was very attentive. The space was large so you didn’t feel crowded by a table too close to you. Also, if you’re driving, it’s possible to find street parking. There is also a parking lot next store which gives reduced rates if dining at Ousia.
Great spot, good food, good ambience. Place came recommended from a friend and it did not disappoint.
Love this restaurant. Would highly recommend it to all. Some of the best Greek food I have had outside of Greece!!
Loved it! Great wine list. Good food. Good service. A little out of the way, but really enjoyed!
This restaurant was sensational! The food was served beautifully and the taste was outstanding! This restaurant is a winner! We will definitely return; a winner!
Excellent food. Superior wait staff and quiet enough to have a conversation
my glass of wine was spilled, but other than that service was good
Food was lovely, the service was erratic.
This is my 4th or 5th time dining here. These guys nail it every time! I’m going back tonight! :)
Some of the best Greek food I’ve eaten outside of Greece! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Consistently wonderful. Any time of day/evening food is superb, service is welcoming, ambience lovely. Casual ambience great design. A winner & highly recommended
Had a few clients from out of town that I brought to Ousia. They enjoyed it and had a great time, and we were met with great service. Thanks again!
My daughter and I dined at Ouisa pre-theater. We had some yummy dips with veggies and then enjoyed the spinach pie platter (which they modified for me to eliminate the cheese and sausage on the plate) and a salad. The service was great!
Enjoyed the food, was disappointed the Guinness wasn't on tap. Overall nice.
Found this gem on an online search. Saturday afternoon brunch with friends. Service, food, ambiance - all superb. Restaurant is minutes away from river walk - either prior to or after dining. Looking forward to going back. Macaron Trifle Desert is a MUST have.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Ambiance was so pretty! Street parking exists! Fresh and delicious food!
Delicious food. Roasted pepper and feta. Dorade and of course Greek salad!
It's a lovely space and they have superior food. I had the salmon souvlaki and it was good. It comes with a sauce on the side. I'm not a fan of citrusy sauces, if you're not either, I'd suggest getting taramasalata or taziki, both of which they make exceptionally well. The greek salad was delicious. Very fresh and tasty. I had a great drink, A Drunk Farmer, which I highly recommend. The only downside was the server. She kept forgetting everything. Water/Drink/Salt/Check. There were people in the restaurant, but it wasn't crazy busy, so I didn't understand why it was so difficult for her. Thankfully there was a manager on the floor and he picked up the slack.
Also, they have a great happy hour where the daiquiri of the day is $7. It's also a great place for a quick snack or meal before a movie at Landmark57-- which has a bar/restaurant but the food isn't special and the drinks are way overpriced, like $16 for a cocktail. And that doesn't even include a bowl of those janky bar type peanuts or nibbles.
Great food, highly recommend the pistachio edamame dip - skip the hummus. Grilled octopus is great and the pita is tasty. Drinks are a little expensive and wine list is mostly from Greece. Overall great place, have dined here multiple times
There are not yet many restaurants in this emerging district on the western edge of 57th Street, and fewer even of Greek restaurants. So, Ousia certainly fills a niche. The place is spacious, open, and attractive, and the service is friendly and efficient. While offering both small and full plates of some Greek classics, Ousia's menu is more American-Greek than authentic Greek. That said, Ousia is a nice addition especially when catching a film at the wonderful Landmark 57 Theater.
Ousia is a favorite of ours. The restaurant is handsome. Everything I have eaten here has been delicious. Particularly good are the kale salad, scallops, the chicken, each of the spreads we have tried such as hummus and edamame/pistachio. Can't wait to go back.
Restaurant is about 10 yards away from Landmark movie theater and makes a nice addition to a movie afternoon or evening. Easy and friendly and a real suburban feel.
Ousia, near New jersey, but little else as yet,is an attractive spot. Bargain lunch is, at $22 sorely lacking in food of interest. Avgolemono soup only fair and a chicken entree decent enough. With one waitress for the room, service was not much. Highlight of the meal was a glass of Ommegang beer. See no reason to return with so many better Greek restaurants more accessible. On the limited basis of our meal, not one of the Livanos's winners.
The martinis (vodka and gin) were good and so was the Baklava. For main courses, skip the rooster with hand rolled pasta. Scallops were good.
New to Hell’s Kitchen, this restaurant is great for many occasions: special occasion, dinner out with significant other, friends gathering. Not recommended for families with children. Chill vibe and great atmosphere. Well thought out interior design and an amazing ambiance are topped off by some super cocktails that are light and clean on the palette; main course had the filet mignon. Seriously must try that and the hummus. Small plates were on point as well; table attendant was attentive and not invasive. Good meal, timely service, beautiful atmosphere and menu. Well done.
I loved this place! It's great to have a restaurant of this quality and style in this far west neighbourhood! It's worth the trip over.
Had a lovely, authentically Greek meal, with delicious Greek wines, with friends. Everyone was happy from the meze to the main courses and the best rice pudding I've had in a long time!
