Had a great experience at Otus Supply last night. They were out of the brisket and pizza which was a huge portion of their menu but got the fried chicken sandwich and it was delish! Had a very attentive and friendly waiter and the restaurant was well staffed. Great atmosphere. Will definitely go back!
First time. Loved rhe vibe and the crowd. Service was great. Food was ok. Both sides came cold and had to be sent back. Like cold cold. Rest was fine. Salmon with green curry and rice was cooked perfectly but had no flavor. Like it needed more. But I’d go back fun place and stick to basic for food
They were out of everything
Food was just meh. Prices were high compared to quality of food. Service was good.
Our first time to Otus Supply . It’s an interesting place. Our food was good . We had the broccoli , salmon burger , chicken sandwich, apple crisp & chocolate cake. There was plenty of food & price was fine . What made the meal was the service . The staff works together to deliver food & clear away dishes, refill water & check up on tables . Lexie was our server & she was awesome . Attentive , friendly , had suggestions & was just very pleasant. 5 stars for service .
It’s loud in there but not unpleasant. However when the band started up next door , the competing sounds bw the restaurant music & the band was alot . Overall , we give it thumbs up !
First time here. Nothing special but a good place to grab something to eat or hangout.
Very noisy and service was not up to par, in fact our server dropped our tray of food extending our wait for dinner. Also, kitchen was out of several entrees. I may not want to return?
Good music and decor. Great menu but pizza was broke and they were out of Salmon. Despite those supply issues, my alternate selections were good. Drinks were great. Good service. I’d go back.
Staff was very busy, but courteous. They were out of A LOT of food, we had to change our order 4 times. I could do with a bit less noise but wasn’t terrible.
Service was good, sadly half the things in the menu were unavailable- no pizza, no shrimp and grits… bar is still good and the vibe is fun.
Had a good time overall with our group, but felt the drinks and food were kind of overpriced. Everyone enjoyed their food, but between two people the bill came out to almost $100 after having 2 small cocktails and 2 entrees. Overall a decent time but likely wouldn’t return for just a casual night out knowing what the bill would be.
Brisket was extremely dry and tough. Service and drinks were great.
Always The Best
I miss the original chef-driven menu. I likely won’t be returning unless I’m craving wings or want to see a show.
Had a great meal last night! Our waitress was great, didn’t rush us, gave us great suggestions and really added to the enjoyment of our meal! Can’t wait to go back
Good bar experience. Music too loud for my taste, but I guess thats the nature of bars : ). Signed “not a person who frequents bars”
Birthday dinner. Everything was good but one of our pasta dishes arrived on the cooler side. We sent it back and for a replacement within a few minutes
The service here is outstanding!
First time at Otus, really enjoyed it. We'll be back soon
Our server and the kitchen made a thousand mistakes - forgetting to put order in, being incorrect about ingredients, food came out wrong, extra charge on bill, etc. because she was literally running around. If you’re under staffed, do not open to full capacity as it results in a bad experience for most of your diners. Music was so loud our server could barely hear us. Food was bland and cold. Good wings though.
Entrees not brought out together. One 20 minutes later. Food cold. Old menu 10x better! Nothing unusual about this place. BBQ was dry and bland.
Amazing drinks with even better food. Real bartenders that care about their craft. A very cool restaurant that is out of the ordinary. Had the shrimp and grits and it was awesome! The pizza looked amazing.
This place is very cool looking on inside. They have a good menu (we are obsessed with the garlic knots and cheese curds). All the employees we interacted with were very friendly. Definitely will be back
Great atmosphere, great staff! Food was good but not exceptional.
It was ok. Not great, not bad….just ok. The food was good, but not as good as it sounded on the menu. I have celiac disease and ordered a dish labeled GF. Unfortunately, I got sick so there must have been some hefty cross contamination. Shame on me for not asking more questions. Loved sitting on the patio and our servers did a good job. I’ll give it another try as I really wanted to like it.
First impression, great space. Good vibes, this is what you want to see in downtown Ferndale. Jane our server, very sweet young lady. She noted for us that kitchen had a new chef and new menu (food and cocktails). Being our first time made it that more exciting to look over the menu. Love the options of QR code or paper, I feel that is a lovely touch. Love the names of the dishes and cocktails, so creative. The turn time was a little long, it was a Friday night and we had reservations so that would be my only critique, we also didn’t get our pig candy we ordered with the drinks and I’m pleased Jane let us know about the delay but maybe next time we will get a chance to try it. Thank you, see you next time.
Fantasic mushroom soup! Great salmon plate!
I was excited to take someone to Otus, based on the last time I went (but that was about 3 years ago), the food was boring - there were some highlights - Broccoli appetizer: Delicious! the Pizza: salty; the Salmon had a rice that made the dish; the Brisket: ehh!!! I may return, but only after the menu is updated. Maybe the sandwiches are the way to go, but our party of three was there for a meal worthy of it's price tag.
if you're a foodie - don't get your hopes up - and my description of a foodie is some one who takes a bite, and wants to figure out every flavor bursting in their mouth.
There should be more vegetarian, healthy items
Got the Carolina bowl...presentation was terrible...looked like a bowl of grit stew...grits were runny...no distinguishable separation of gravy versus grits. Shrimp were cooked perfectly, but trying to cut them in a deep bowl of runny grits - had to hold my fork/knife almost completely vertical...and then fishing out my cut piece of shrimp...it was just an ugly mess. Taste was okay...as long as I didn't look at it. Could be a great dish if they can figure out how to make grits, use a less shallow bowl, and for goodness sake, pre-cook the celery first...it was crunchy and tasted like they threw it in at the last minute.
Craft cocktails were good....maybe just stick to that.
Those Smokey pig fries was AMAZING!!!!
Our service was great, very attentive ! Lovely evening out.
Loved the food, the ambiance, and the drinks! Service was amazing
Great service, good food & cocktails. Appealing decor. Loved it.
We enjoyed the Brooklyn Pizza and Veggie Lovers Pasta and both were delicious. The pizza alone fed us for two more meals. Great value and delicious! We also enjoyed the garlic knots (off the hook garlic deliciousness, make sure you and your date eat them) as well as the Bee's Knees cocktail. Nothing skimpy in the cocktail, and it was one of the best I've ever had--I'd put the cocktail right up there next to Maude's in the West Loop of Chicago. Definitely heading back to Otus Supply.
Delicious food. Great service. A bit noisy in the back room.
All hype, no substance.
I don't care how many fancy ingredients you brag about on your menu if you can't even serve the food warm.
Why bother asking how each person wants their burger cooked if you're just going to send them all to the table well done.
Fries are a different story. The fries in our appetizer were so undercooked the entire thing was cold inside. We had to ask for well done fries with our burgers.
The pizza was so greasy it actually dripped when we moved a slice to our plates.
Truly disappointed. I wanted to love this place. Maybe their new chef just needs some time to get it together.
It's been over a year since I've been to Otus Supply and I probably should of left that last memory in my head. We went on a Saturday, celebrating my 17th wedding anniversary, even noted this in the reservation. The hostess greeted us and proceeded to sit us 3 feet from the hostess stand.
The service was okay, not like I remember from my last visit but average. The menu, not sure when or why it changed, but the eclectic small plates they used to offer have been replaced by a lot of pulled pork/bbq options. I felt like I was staring at Lockhart's menu.
When our meals came after a long wait my wife's salmon was raw in the middle. The manager took it away and made her a fresh one, but at this point I had my meal so I waited for hers as my meal got cold. He did give us a drink on the house but that did little to save the bad experience we were already in the middle of. Hopefully Otus Supply can get back to their roots but I for sure won't be coming back until things change.
I was disappointed to see they changed the menu a lot since we last were there. They used to have smaller, shareable portions. The steak tartare was amazing. Also the carrot dish. There is a lot of bbq type food now. Glad they kept the pizzas. The food was good, as was the service. I guess I just miss the original menu and beer list.
Horrible service and food
