Otto Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
First, Edith is a fantastic server, she is very patient and attentive. We sampled 4 wines before we found the right one. The arugula salad is phenomenal. The pizzas, both regular and gluten free were excellent. The gelato trio was outatanding. The grappa selection was great. We've eaten at Otto several times and will definitely go back!
The restaurant itself was fine. Service was good and food quality was quite good. The reason for the 3 stars overall is that anyone who is considering this venue needs to know that if you are seated in the outside area, which we were, you will not be able to hear yourself think when the music is playin in the courtyard. There is a group that was playing in the square and with the domed ceiling in the square, it was deafening and having a quality conversation was impossible. During the breaks in the music, we could talk and the overall din was manageable.
Otto used to be one of our favorite lunch places in Vegas. Not any longer. The quality of the food is way down compared to prior visits over the last 10 years. The pizza tasted like it was frozen and the other menu selections were mediiocre at best. Very disappointing.
Pizza was great if you like thin and crispy, which we do. Hand made gelato was really yummy. This is in a very busy area of the mall so if you sit at the ‘outdoor’ tables, you will be treated to s show and throngs of tourists parading by. We watched the show for about 20 minutes then asked to move inside as it was just too loud for us to hear each other talk. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here but if you are staying at the Venetian it is s good pizza place.
They were visibly stressed out it was very busy. Food was good, server forgot requests for things like pepper etc. salads came after main course. They tried to clear the salads 30 seconds after delivering them. Weird! We have previously had 2 great lunches here so this was a first, I can only assume they were overbooked.
Go to McDonalds instead. Branzino was edible, but not fresh, and not well prepared. The waiter suggested a truly awful wine pairing. I was hoping dessert would at have a hope of saving the evening, but it was the worst part -- the tiramisu was hard and sugar laced, so I sent it back and figured how could they mess up ice cream? They found a way -- 3 scoops smashed on top of one another -- zero points for presentation (did they even care?) and no way to taste each flavor individually.
Always great food though pizza was a little wet and underdone this time. Charcuterie and cheese was amazing and short rib ravioli were sumptuous! Love the sparkling rose and while for some strange reason the hostess is always salty, our waitress Ruth, bussers and the manger were outstanding. Can’t believe Batali has really stepped down but hope the food doesn’t suffer. Always a favorite go-to place when in NYC or Vegas.
Went there for lunch during our vacation. We were seated immediately. The ambiance was the best part. The pizza was a bit over seasoned and you could not taste the meat cheese or sauce and the calamari had too much lemon sprinkled on it. The pasta dish was a bit too heavy on the sauce. The service for the most part was excellent. The only issue I had was with the waiter who seemed a bit distracted and not as engaged.
The food is excellent. We were seated for quite some time without anyone coming over to get our drink or food order. Eventually someone came over and we were waited on and received our food in a timely manner. However, we had finished eating and had to wait again for some time to get our bill. We had excellent service the time before .
Originally very excited to go eat a delicious gourmet meal from my top Italian Chef Mario, however I was not impressed by the waitresses enability to make my wife and I feel welcomed to her restaurant, let alone table! First greeting is always accompanied by, "Have you ever visited us before", next would be giving your customer a short summary of your list of wine and food specials! The Waitress gave nothing except her odd facial expressions as if you were supposed to know what you wanted with no assistance! My wife ordered the Ravioli with braised short rib! Sauce was savory but too salty... Ravioli was deliciously al dente however the short rib was dry and chalky! I had the shrimp linguine which was fabulous... Shrimp cooked in flavorful buttery garlic sauce and a hit of red pepper flakes made the dish explode with zesty Italiano taste... The linguine was great and the garlic broccoli florets topped off the fresh cuisine! Overall, yes I'd go back however work needs to be done with service staff! Thanks Josh Rosen
Big fan of this place while I'm in Vegas. We actually went twice on this trip. Once after running the Rock N Roll 5K, in normal clothes, desperate for carbs, and the next day after the half marathon, dressed as Elvis and a Sailor. The staff were kind enough to let us dine that way, and it was a super fun meal.
I have loved everything I've had here, but my recommendation is for you to have the fried cauliflower (TRUST ME) and the truffle pizza (no brainer). My favorite wine on the reasonable-priced glass list is the Nero D'Avola.
