I love OTTO. It’s not the quiet place in a hole, but pretty, and the pastas are fantastic. In fact I ordered 2 pastas for dinner because I knew both were great. I love ravioli and stuffed pasta in general and since they are often small portions, I got 2 different ones that put me in orbit!

Despite our early arrival, we were able to be seated immediately in the bar area for dinner instead - much appreciated. We shared a starter (brussels sprouts) : being told they would be served at room temperature, it was a bit of a surprise to find they still had a chill on them from the fridge. My main (goat cheese agnolotti) was great but my friend's putanesca was decidedly watery. We both ordered the olive oil copetta for dessert and that was the highlight of the meal.
Server was civil, not as friendly as I expected for such a casual and boisterous atmosphere.
Overall a good experience, unfortunately not amazing.

Everything was wonderful! While waiting for our table, we ordered drinks at the bar and our bartender was very knowledgeable and picked out the perfect glass of wine. When seated, our waiter, Dan, was exceptional! He gave us excellent recommendations - we loved the wine, meats, cheeses, brussel sprouts, pasta, and the Olive oil dessert! We are definitely big fans and will be back the next time we're in the city 😃

The food was delicious and very reasonable. The alcohol was very expensive. $17 for a glass of house wine is extreme.

I do not know what happened with OTTO, it used to be fantastic now it's very cheap, the olives, Formaggi and Carnes are still good, we shared the Linguine Putanesca, the taste of the canned tomato puree was so obvious, really bad and then we tried the Penne with Noci e Ricotta, no noci and no riccotta just pesto, and in bad pesto, the pizza was not as good as always but for sure saved the night. very Poor dinner, what a shame.

My favorite place to go with a group. They have round tables that are great for groups conversing. Food and service are always great and prices are reasonable so you don’t have a heart attack when you get the check.

I’ve been coming here for years and will continue for many more.

The place was packed, which in and of itself not a bad thing, but it was quite noisy with a VERY loud laugher at the table across from us. It was so loud, it stunned us. I don't think the woman was aware of how piercing her laugh is/was.

The service was excellent. Our server was attentive and helped us make good decisions. We ordered the chopped salad and 2 pizzas, vongole, and cacio y pepe. The clams were a bit gritty and were piled in the shell on top of the pizza. While I appreciate knowing that they were serving fresh clams, the grit was unacceptable. The flavor, aside from the crunching, was very good, briny and fresh. The cacio y pepe was very salty, my opinion, overly so. We took half of each pizza home with us.

The chopped salad was quite good with the brightness of lemon and the sea-flavor of the anchovies (they must have been in the dressing, I didn't see one in the salad) helped whet the appetite.

We capped the meal off with a shared gelato with 3 flavors, salty peanut, olive oil, and hazelnut with chocolate. My fav was the olive oil, just perfect.

Came to NY to visit our son and daughter in law for Thanksgiving week. We always come to Otto Enoteca - it always is the best. Gotta save room for Olive Oil Coppetta! It’s always loud - today was exceptionally loud with lots of families with little kiddos. But i know the families with screaming kiddos could enjoy that great food because they have an amazing selection of wine also!😎

Food wad ok with the exception that they don’t publicize that all their meats are pork based.
Their argument is that this place is authentic Italian with a lot of pork, which is debatable. For those that have been in Italy, they will be sole judge of this argument.

Their online menu wasn’t updated

Service was ok, but not great.

We had to revert to a lot of carb with pizza, pasta and cheese to finish our dinner. So not a great experience overall and not recommending the restaurant.

We were going to see Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden that night. Unfortunately Babbo was not open early enough so we booked Otto. We went to Otto in Vegas also. What can you say it's a B&B restaurant so of course it was very good. Bartender was also awesome before we had dinner.

Full transparancy: this place is noisy! However, if you can live with that you will get the full Batali experience with great cheese and salami options and excellent pizzas. For pasta I would go osmewhere else. And do NOT miss out on the gelato, the olive oil flavor is a memory for life.

When we arrived we found the menu a little confusing(quite different to the many Italian restaurants we have dined at in Australia). However our waitress soon put us at ease, taking the time to explain how the menu worked and making some recommendations that turned out to be very suitable to our tastes. After we ordered some wine and the food started to arrive we found the experience delightful. The restaurant was recommended to us by a friend in Australia and we in turn would have no hesitation in recommending it to other friends travelling to New York. Our visit was for a special occasion (my 70th birthday)and the experience is one I will remember for a long time.Thank you for making it special.Even my desert came out with a candle.A lovely touch, thank you again.Ken C satisfied Australian visitor.

This is one of Mario Batali's restaurants but this one is a bargain by NYC standards. The food combines pizza, pasta, and a wonderful array of apps, charcuterie, salads, and cheeses. Our meal consisted of 2 apps. The first was a delicious poached octopus salad with fennel. The 2nd was blanched broccoli rabe tossed with ricotta salt cheese in a light vinaigrette, another winner. Pasta dishes were pork loin braised in tomato/basil sauce, hot sausage with escarole. Both simple and absolutely delicious, served in ample portions but not ridiculous. The gelato for dessert was outstanding. Ambiance was intimate and inviting.

Sadly there was too much salt on the pizza. Prosciutto pizza is not supposed to be put in the oven together. Prosciutto should have been added after to avoid saltyness. Overall food is good - Americanized Italian but good.

Enjoyed a truly memorable meal at Otto a few years back, this trip was less tasty. The salads are quite large—plan to share one with two or three people as a starter. The fresh pastas far surpass the regular pasta dishes, so stick to those. I found my maple panna cotta to be too sweet, though the flavor combination and texture variety was excellent. My dining partner loved her “black and white.”

Very loud and busy place. Hectic, stressful. People passing by the table all the time. We could see each other but a conversation was almost impossible if you didn’t want to shout...
Food was ok but not outstanding. We had better Pizza in town.
Service was overwhelmed by the crowd snd hence slow.
Prices ok-ish.

Otto used to be a favorite place. Recent visit was disappointing. Tables too close, waiter and staff kept bumping my back to pass. Wait staff barely spoke English and was only interested in rushing us to order, drink, eat and leave. The quality of good was ordinary at best and portions are getting smaller. Otto has gotten very commercial and lost it's special touch as a favorite dining spot. Not recommended.

The place is vibrant---from the orangey-red glossy walls to the friendly bustle of the staff.
Cocktails were quite tasty, and the choices of the appetizers and entrees had a nice range.
Pasta servings were a bit small, but pizza size was perfect. The desserts including the varied gelato choices were superb.

Love coming here for delicious but affordable comfort food. Our waitress (forgot her name, she had trendy white framed glasses) was so on point with service and attentiveness. My group had a lot of questions and she was knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The only downside was the noise level, but that may have been because we were near several large parties. Highly recommend for great food and service.
