The food was delicious! The waiter was super!
Service is incredibly uneven. Waiter was clearly distracted and forgot about us halfway through the meal.
delicious food and service. I was not happy that my table was at the entrance.
Great Thanksgiving dinner! wonderful service and food. DEFINITELY need to get cream or half and half for coffee!
The whole experience was excellent. The dinner was prepared perfectly and it is a neighborhood gem.
This somewhat new, neighborhood BYO restaurant offers a lot of variety on the menu, and the service is excellent. A really enjoyable evening.
Great addition to Bryn Mawr restaurant scene. Food and service were very good.
The food dishes and fish were fresh and excellent! Amazing selection of desserts and delicious. Service was courteous and attentive.
However that evening the restaurant double booked with Resy and Open Table and there was a wait for a table. Although they have heaters outside, it is a very basic set up and not conducive for eating outdoors. Would definitely recommend dining here.
The food and service was great. BYOB, which is appreciated. Unfortunately, there’s no ambiance, it feels like you’re sitting in a cafeteria hall. Our table was right at the edge of the kitchen entrance, which is less than ideal. Also, due to the popularity and the recent opening, we waited 35 minutes before being seated. The lobby/entrance is so small, everyone had to wait outside in the cold with no heaters.
Best Italian restaurant I have been, the food is incredible but we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated.
OTTO by POLPO has great POLPO (octopus)- among the best I have tasted!
The place was "hopping" and quite loud as a result. Plus we had to wait a bit for our reserved table. The maitre d' was overly busy helping takeout customers as well in dine in patients. (they should have another person doing this)
The waitress was virtually impossible to understand between her accent and mask. However the food was very very good to outstanding including the pasta, chicken francaise and Bronzino.
Deserts were not made in house-they were out of tiramisu even though it was only 8 PM or so-and the deserts were mediocre in general.
However, despite the above, our overall impression was quite positive and we will be back -but not on a Saturday night -too crowded and hectic. As Yogi Berra might say- Nobody will go there anymore -it is too crowded!
Outstanding. Can’t say enough good things. We booked another date night as we left!
The food is amazing. The grilled octopus is the best I have ever had. Tender and tasty. The gnocchi with carbonara sauce was out of this world. The fettuccini Bolonese was delicious. The service was very pleasant and made for an enjoyable evening
As we won't dine indoors yet, we truly love the ambiance of the patio. It was a chilly night but the wait staff immediately turned on the heaters for us. This has become our favorite restaurant in the area. Food, setting and service was excellent.
tables were very close together, ceaser salad was very bland and not good but the pasta was amazing
We had a lovely afternoon. Ample menu and food for delicious. Don't forget it's a BYOB if you'd like wine with your meal.
Always consistently good.
Efficient, friendly yet professional service with a thoughtful birthday dessert - in a word, excellent.
Food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Burrata salad is a must! Main course - The capellini was perfectly al dente which is difficult with such a thin pasta. It was surrounded by chunks of fresh crab meat. The best crab meat and pasta I have had!! What a terrific treat!!
Food overall was underwhelming. Caesar salad was as if it came out of a bag from the grocery store, the lobster raviolis tasted like froze Trader Joe's (which isn't bad necessarily but not what was expected), the lasagna had way too much meat and the sauce was mediocre and the cheese was rubbery, the bruschetta was hard to chew and the tomatoes were flavorless (needs olive oil, seasoning, and basil, better tomatoes), and the fettucini with shrimp was okay (pasta and shrimp done perfectly) but had not true flavor. The restaurant was VERY loud and it was difficult to hear each other and the waitress. The decor was a bit to be desired and the tables were very close. Very disappointing and we will not be back.
Good food, not amazing…Osso Bucco was average, including the Rissoto…very average, especially for the money ($47).
The appetizers were delicious and the rest of the table enjoyed their food.
I love the BYOB service…very professional and welcoming for folks bringing their own wine (complimentary cork service and white wine cooler).
Overall a nice experience and will try again, but will try something from the menu next time instead of a high priced special.
Our waiter was awful - young and inexperienced. We dined here a few months ago and the wait staff is all new. He took forever to come to take our order. We asked for bread and he never arrived with it. I finally flagged down a bus boy who brought it to our table. It was cold and the butter pads frozen. Obviously, it came right from the refrigerator and never warmed up. Who eats cold bread? Our bread plates and butter knives were cleared knowing we had asked for bread. Ridiculous! He appeared toward the end of the dinner to inquire how the meal was, asked if we wanted anything else, and that was it. In a nutshell, service was poor and lacking when a diner has to wait and wait and ask for things that never arrive.
My companion ordered the Osso Buco. It's one of his favorite dishes and he orders it quite often when we go out to dine. He said the sauce was not good. Instead of being a reduction, it was more like tomato sauce.
All in all, would not rush back again. We frequent the Bryn Mawr Film Institute across the street quite often and then visit a local restaurant for dinner. Won't be here for a long time.....
Wonderful meal, truly impressive
Excellent food and wonderful service! We were sated promptly for our reservation time. Always a delightful experience!!
Very good but I would not get the specials. They were read with no prices. When my friend asked we all thought it was too expensive.
Great outdoor space with heat lamps
It was a great meal. If you know it’s a BYOB it’s a great experience. The bruschetta came out right away and was delicious. The linguini all’s pea agora was delicious and had lots of fresh seafood. The gnocchi was fluffy and delicious. Our waitress was a disaster but I think she was new.
Didn’t have some of the things on the menu and prices of some items increased by a lot. It would have been nice had the waiter told us before so we wouldn’t order something and then he would return to apologize that he forgot to tell us that it wasn’t available or that now it’s 10-12 dollars more than listed on the menu.
Even though my reservation was for 9 pm, I did not get a table until 9:30 pm and food until 10:00 pm. The table that I was given was only for 4 people despite making a reservation for a party of 7. Their solution was to squeeze us in a small table by adding more chairs. The food was acceptable but nothing to die for. Servers try to make our experience plesant.
The service was very good, had to wait for waitress at times but that was due to short on staff. Food was very good, a little pricey. Will go back.
Delicious, nice service, needs to better not that it is BYOB. In OpenTsble
We waited 35 minutes to be seated.
6 o’clock reservations, people pouring in…that’s great! Our waiter made us feel rushed. We went with it. I understand supply may be different these days but the jumbo shrimp cocktail were not jumbo. The egg fettuccini bolognese was disappointing dry, but the “special pasta’ was Gorgonzola with fig filled pasta and I was told shrimp and scallop, however I got shrimp and crab…I didn’t say anything I’m still kicking myself because scallop is what drew me to the special, but it cost $43. We were shocked it didn’t look or taste like.a $43 dollar pasta dish. The pasta tasted creamy…I didn’t get Gorgonzola or fig. It didn’t look like any fig was in filling. Sadly it was our first and last time.
great food and it is a BYOB (which they do not mention on the website) - however the tables are very close together and it is very crowded
I love this restaurant! You will not be disappointed by the service or one thing on the menu.
Great food. Service was good. Nice Variety on menu. Prices reasonable. Byob
First time dining at Otto by Polpo and we will return. Our table was in a quiet spot, as requested, our server was very attentive, food was very flavorful … all of this for less $ than we had expected!
High quality ingredients, amazing options, delicious dishes and relaxing atmosphere! And BYOB! All 10 of us loved our food choices, we will definitely return!
