Since 2009 when we opened our first slice shop on Congress Street in downtown Portland, we’ve been striving to elevate the pizza experience. It starts with the ingredients – high quality, local when possible – and the toppings – creative and comforting. Mashed potatoes? Tortellini? Cranberries on a pizza? These are just a few of the things we tried – and they worked. “The Masher” with mashed potato, scallion, and bacon is one of our most popular pies. And people thought it was weird when we first put it on the menu.
Making simple food isn’t easy. We are continuously working to make sure every pizza is perfect and every slice unforgettable. Whether it be from one of our slice counters, or in one of our full service dining rooms, every member of our team is motivated by this goal of consistently well-executed, uncomplicated food.
Interesting and delicious! Unique pizza on special. Great meatballs.
They sat us when we arrived, even though we were about 20 minutes early for our reserved time. The service was great and staff was very accommodating to our party that had multiple questions and several people with dietary restrictions, and the food was delicious. Great night.
Very happy with the food, service and value, but the noise level was too high. Would still recommend to a friend, especially if they like gourmet pizza.
Love it here! Great beer selection. Good wine choices although limited. Pizzas are always delicious. Crust is amazing. Also love that they take reservations on open table.
Great experience. Awesome waitress.
You aught to go to Otto’s. Corny I know.
Excellent pizza. One of out
We wanted to sit down and have some good pizza and wine. We got exactly what we wanted plus some friendly, attentive service!
So yummy! The best specialty pizzas
Pizzas are always good, salads not too bad, we went late so it wasn’t too noisy.
Enjoy the meatballs with a delicious sauce and a Greek salad which was very good we order the pizza with spinach and Vidalia onions and it was delicious. We were very happy that the restaurants are non-alcoholic beer. The service was great!
Great pizza, always has a full house but if you go to open table you can make a reservation which is great for a pizza place.
Always an awesome experience! Pizza is amazing and service is great.
The best !
Just returned from a month in Italy where the pizzas are sublime so Otto had a lot to live up to but the crusts here - thin, just the right amount of crispiness - are the best I've been able to find in Boston and very close to Italian-style pizza. Creative toppings like the bacon and pineapple I enjoyed make this restaurant a must for pizza lovers. A child's birthday party on a nearby table made the atmosphere boisterous and loud. The service was very good, getting my pizza and bill to me quickly so I could get to the cinema in time. In all, a good experience.
Pizza was good as always, and salad was very fresh.
Excellent pizzaria with solid service and a delicious menu. Always a favorite!
I get pizza withdrawal if I don't have this weekly. Waitresses are the best.
wonderful place for people with celiac. they bake gf pizzas in a dedicated gf oven! kudos Ottos for your understanding of celiac disease!
Pizza crust was excellent, pear + cheese pizza was great. Mango -pulled pork was quite short on both pork and mango. Mixed feelings.
Excellent pizza! Good selection of beers, however many of them are almost 10$ a pint. But your not going for the beer, you’re going for the pizza. And it’s excellent.
Otto is consistently excellent. The quality of the pizza and beer is top notch. The service is friendly and accommodating. They easily handled our large group with people coming in late and some leaving.
Great energy. Great food. Excellent beers on tap. We will go back.
Great pizza, great service and craft beer selection (Exibit A - Cat’s Meow, boom!!). Ottos is lit 🔥!!!
The best pizza around. Excellent selection of vegetarian and nonvegetarian choices. Always served right out of the oven! Great beer selection too. Pleasant atmosphere for adults and children. I recommend the eggplant, ricotta, basil!
We have been there for lunch and dinner. Both were good. The pizza is tasty and the varieties are a little different (or you can go basic or create your own). Only two complaints. First is they were out of the Everything Knots appetizer which is really good. Not sure how you run out of a dough appetizer in a pizza place. Second, we ordered the sausage and onion pizza and you really had to look to find any sausage on it. Not sure if they were running low or what. Also had the meatball appetizer which was excellent. Overall pretty good pizza joint.
Friendly, efficient service and delicious, innovative pizzas. Decent wine selection as well. Look forward to returning!
Best in New England. Amazing Pizza with amazing service. I can't get enough of this pizza!
Just OK/average pizza. With all the other choices in the area I would go somewhere else next time.
Great pizza. We had the Habanero Chicken with pineapple salsa. Great, rich flavors. The sangria was good but not on par quality with the pizza. The sangria didn’t have any fruit in it. And they only have white wine sangria, not red wine sangria. Next time I would have wine. Good ambience. Moderate noise so you can have a nice conversation. Service was attentive and good. Overall a very pleasant experience.
Excellent pizza! Very interesting and delicious varities! Fun atmosphere...place was packed, but service was still very good!
Pizza was excellent. Service was excellent. Excellent value. Otto is the go-to spot for pizza in Coolidge Corner!
The pizza is delicious and they have so many interesting options to try. It’s very affordable, the service is great, and the atmosphere was fun yet relaxing. I will definitely be going back!
Fantastic all the way around
I took a pizza pulled pork/mango. Not very good, service ok, not exceptional so basic restaurant
Otto provides great pizza with delicious standard selections of toppings, and a long list of local beers. Service is always fast and the staff polite.
The restaurant does not have good sound insulation so expect it to be loud.
This.is one of our favorite restaurants in movie night.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious.
Knowledgeable servers made our beer selection fun, and the non-alcoholic choices ( including cucumber seltzer!) made one member of our group especially happy. We had fun at the bar, and then had a fab dinner for five with thoughtful and attentive servers.
Great for an evening with friends.
On a comfortable weather day (high 70s), it was like a furnace inside the restaurant. They should have turned on the a/c. We sweated through our meal. But the food/drinks/service were good.
