Our server was knowledgeable, accommodating and made great suggestions for a few substitutions we asked for. The staff as a whole was professional and efficient.
The food was all very tasty, portions were just right and there were plenty of options to pick from.
The atmosphere is bright and clean and the open kitchen ran smoothly. Not too much noise and a full, diverse crowd for a Wednesday evening dinner.
Last night of our 7 weeks in SF and we decided to enjoy OTD one more time until next year. Great food as always!

The sad thing about aging is that I no longer think that noise level is ok. So I will regretfully give up OTD.
I’m afraid that on this occasion the restaurant was so noisy as to make conversation impossible. They forgot an entree and charged us for a glass of wine we dis not order.
Great brunch option for either traditional American or Vietnamese - the pho is divine.
Very disappointed- I have been to SD many, many times (since 1996); first time to OTD. Crab noodles had very little crab, chicken both 5-spice and lemongrass had no spice/taste and ‘funky’ pieces of meat.
The food was excellent and the decor is modern and cool. We will go back for sure.
Fillmore empty restaurant packed. Food good as always but service left me without wine until we’ll in to my entree.
The meals at OTD are unfailingly delicious, from a lunchtime noodle bowl to happy hour glass of gruner veltliner and spring rolls to a hearty dinner of shaking beef and rice.The service is always prompt and friendly while unobtrusive. I also love that this is a place where you can come with friends, on a date, alone or with your family. OTD never disappoints.

I've been meaning to try this restaurant for a while & am glad that I did finally. The food was good -- interesting, fresh, pretty, delicious. However, our server was very, very lacking in presence. She seemed to be annoyed that we were asking her for things -- like things we wanted to order to eat at the restaurant where we came to eat. We definitely overordered and had leftovers for 3 of the dishes. We asked for them to go at the end of our meal. We never got them and I only realized that once we were on the Bay Bridge going home.
Oh well. Don't need to go back. Too many other options in the City where food & service are both important.
Food is good - but, it’s overpriced and the portions are EXTREMELY small.
The host told us that our reservation had been bumped because a large party arrived and took it. Said this with a smile on his face.
He seated us after 2 people arrived after us and were given a table.

We have always enjoyed OTD and the wonderful menu & food Charles Phan has put together.
HOWEVER I must note that on this visit the service was below par, the timing of plates of food to our table completely unorganized and erratic, and then it took the servers forever to offer us desert menus, then another 20 minutes before coming back to take our desert order, and then since they had totally elongated and messed up timing they actually had the nerve to ask us to leave because we were over whatever time they had allotted us, and we were flabbergasted. It's too bad...
OTD never fails to live up to expectations. The menu has been revamped since Executive Chef Robert Edwards has come onboard. The vegetarian dishes are a third of the menu and really expand the options. The spring rolls are some of the best you will have in the country. Our squad is partial to the cellophane noodles with crab and the shaking beef. Mix in a side of kale or a seasonal veggie dish and you are sure to have a meal to remember. Daniel runs the front of the house and leads by example. From the servers to the bus staff every aspect of services is excellent. It's a neighborhood gem where everyone is made to feel welcome.
Mesquite grilled pork over rice is a must try!
Everything was great. Great service. Great ambience. Great food. All the staff were knowledgeable and passionate; and everyone around us was having a good time. Every recommendation from the staff was spot on. We had a bottle of Precedent (?) French Oak aged Riesling and it was perfect.
Dumplings, pork ribs, fried chicken, beef brisket and the amazing kale. Wonderful.
Please don't dine here, I would hate not to be able to get in again.

Food and service, except for host at door, was exceptional. We wanted a bottle of bubbly to sip while we waited for our table (we arrived early, so the wait was on us, not them) and then carry to the table. The bottle never appeared. He—the host— said it would be “presented” at our table. Why not serve it when we requested it? Tacky!

So so good. Craving Vietnamese similar to Babar in Seattle. This place didn’t disappoint! Food was well though out. Portions were nice. Staff was great.

We come here every Christmas when visiting bay area relatives. Can't wait until Slanted Door (sister restaurant) opens in LA.
Three of us had a feast: grapefruit salad, daikon cakes, spring rolls, grilled chicken with rice and egg (brunch menu on Saturday). The only discordant note was the chicken pho, which smelled off because of a too heavy hand with the nuoc mam. We eat the soup often, here and in Vietnam, but had to return this one, which was taken off our bill and graciously replaced with another order of the delicious hot daikon cakes. We come here all the time since we live close by.

It is perfect in every way. The most scrumptious food, try the green papaya salad, don't miss the steamed bork buns- they are most delicious.
Hail OTD! This is a grand room of kind wait professionals and excellent cooks. Come a wee late on the lunch shift and the noise of exuberant food worship subsides and a very fine occasion of dear companionship enhanced by plates of fair genius ensues.
This is very casual . The design is elegant but sparse / it is fine for lunch ; too cold and cafeteria looking for a dinner occasion ! The food is fresh : inventive Vietnam cuisine . Great imperial rolls ; yummy salads . Perfect drop in for lunch or a business meeting .the staff is exceptional
The food is always great. The restaurant's acoustics are tough though since it's so modern and they need more to soften the sound. It's very loud and we had to yell across the table at times. OTD should think about ways to soften the sound
