Yummy food!!
Yummy as always, fun neighborhood spot with great food served family style at a good value and reasonable wine list
Only had brunch menu available - not many savory lunch options. Service was very slow.
OTD is a less glamorous version of its sister restaurant, Slanted Door but the food is equally amazing. Brunch is my favorite mealtime at OTD. The menu offers everything from buttermilk pancakes to chicken congee. The only fly in the ointment is the price of the drinks. They are expensive! Other than that, I’d recommend it to everyone, families with older kids, couples, group of friends....
After being told that I should go, I finally went for dinner. Not sure if it was that my expectations was high but I ended up disappointed in the food. It was good but for it it wasn't special. We ordered and shared three items. Crispy vegetarian roll, spring roll, and 5 piece duck breast. Of the three I liked the crispy roll but not enough for me to rave to others. I live nearby so I will try this again and select other dishes that looked interesting before I totally take them off my list. I will say the service is good a d the setting is nice. Vanessa, the manager, is very nice.
Too loud, will not come back
got there 15 minutes late they took good care of us
Absolutely delicious. Service was fantastic. We ended up ordering the perfect amount of food 🥰
Great food
Excellent food and service!
Great, even healthy food with attentive service. It’s expensive but less than Slanted Door. My husband & I shared fresh vegetarian spring rolls & barbecued pork plate. Portions were generous - flavors outstanding.
Wish they would open one in the Eastbay (Oakland). My favorite lunch spot.
Service was half-assed
Wonderful food and great service!
Great welcoming service for high quality food ! Great pancakes expresso and fresh squeezed oj in addition to Vietnamese cuisine
Great service food and wine
I always like the OTD food and service. The food is fresh, tastes yummy, and there is a good solid trusted selection of different items. I’m very fond of their salads, fresh rolls, and all the side veggies. Our server was very attentive and sweet yet not overbearing.
Lovenit but as usual too noisy
Good service and Amazing food! Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
The food is always amazing. But the vibe is bad these days - it was cold, the service was just OK, the cocktails are ridiculously obtuse (trying so hard to be hip) and the wines only a little less so.
Really yummy! High quality ingredients. Would def go back.
Service very matter of fact. Bench seats were metal and very cold. Most customers on these seats were wearing their coats or sitting on them. No cushions on offer. Beware the enormous portions! The food was ok but chicken was pink.
Grat restaurant, but far too loud. They could easily reduce the racket by installing some soft materials on their ceiling and walls. Hope they do so.
Food is consistent and atmosphere more quant than slanted door.
We were 12min late and they would not honor our reservation. Fortunately we were comfortable sitting at the communal table but I found the hostess quite rude.
One of my daughter's favorite places! Fantastic green papaya salad, cellophane noodles and clay pot chicken. Also tried the brussel sprouts this time. Yum!
I like this place and have eaten here many times. Last night I came with a friend from out of town and we were both disappointed. In truth, it came down to one dish: the shaking beef. It was poorly executed and grossly over-priced. As my friend pronounced, a rip off. Were it not for that we would have felt much better about the experience.
OTD and Slanted Door have been calling it in for years. There is no creative cooking going on here. It’s all the old standards. Still good, but nothing new or exciting
I really don’t write these reviews often. Not an experience I would recommend to others. Service: poor. We were asked if we wanted drinks and then 2 more people in our party arrived and were ignored. They had to flag someone down to get drinks. We had to go to the counter ourselves to get condiments. Pretty sad in a city with so many restaurants. The food was good and that is a plus! Maybe just a bad morning at OTD?
Early Christmas dinner with family.
Food was, as always, creative, well cooked, and expertly served. Unfortunately, the near-deafening noise level in the restaurant took much of the pleasure out of what would otherwise have been a memorable meal for the four of us. The place needs material on the walls and ceiling to dampen some of the dining room noise, and some sort of sound barrier to reduce the clashing and crashing from the open kitchen. In future, my patronage of OTD will be limited to getting food to take out.
OTD is always an outstanding go-to for anyone out of town!
The food is delicious and uses high quality ingredients . For breakfast no one can eat the fresh juice and the expresso .. the traditional cuisine is authentic but the pancakes are good too
Great service!
Per my husband's dad's recommendation, we decided to celebrate here one night and it was the PERFECT place to celebrate. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the ambiance was amazing! Definitely recommend!
The staff was exemplary and timing was perfect. It’s been a long time and a lot of restaurants since I’ve had such a perfectly timed and delicious meal.
Birthday dinner
Superlative
Out The Door is consistently terrific. The food is generally even better than the fresh, light and flavorful cuisine one can have in Vietnam. I took 5 friends there and they all agreed that it’s a keeper
Chicken pho had tender dark meat, which was nice. My father had the prawns/shrimp - which he really enjoyed.
Great neighborhood spot with yummy fresh food. Fun with friends.
