We were given a great table with incredible view of the city. Our food was very good and service was great. But the couple seated at the next table next to us had so little self awareness that it ruined a great dinner. They were allowed to talk loudly on a phone call / face time and talk with other guests that it felt like were having dinner at fast food restaurant. It wouldn't have been too much for the staff to ask them to behave properly at a restaurant or take their call elsewhere.

The place has a nice view toward the city. The service was pretty good also. However, compared to the authentic omakase/sushi restaurants I have been in Japan and Korea, the food itself did not have the "wow" factors I've had in those restaurants. Chawanmushi with uni was pretty good but other than that menu, the taste/umami was not very complexly structured and sometimes came to me as bland. I would definitely recommend though the Otaru Experience course meal for someone who has not yet experienced a Japanese course meal.

120% would go back. Angela and Allen were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend the omakase and they made a very intimate experience and you can’t beat the view

Fantastic food, view and service by Casey!!! We will definitely return. It is an unexpected experience in Pittsburgh that even those not familiar with authentic Japanese dining can appreciate. As a first-timer we were greeted with a great guide, Casey, who patiently walked us through the unique offerings and provided great advise. If you are new, don’t fear the OTARU 4 course meal. And the yellowtail creations were VERY TASTY. My only issue was that it was a little pricey. Maybe they will have promotional hours or events to garner the attention they should have. BRAVO!
