The food quality is great. The service is always good. The food menu is a bit of an eccentric spin on well known dishes. You will see meats that are not staples of everyday menus, like rabbit/duck/quail/etc. But if you’re adventurous, you will not be disappointed. The oysters are probably my favorite I’ve found in Louisville.
Went there for an early dinner and loved it! Had the Brussels sprouts, fish tacos, and a few cocktails. Server was attentive and offered plenty of advice. Definitely will be going back again!
Extremely slow service.
Kitchen service and food delivery was awful! It was a Wednesday night and our server kept saying that she was sorry that the kitchen was backed up but most of the outside tables were empty and the inside is very small with very few tables occupied. The portions were very small and adequate at best
Great food (the little we had) but really bad service. I had reservations at 7:45 for my birthday and invited 3 friends to join me. A 6 top was sat behind us on the upper patio about 20 minutes after we arrived and it was obvious that they took precedence. They were served waaaay faster than we were. And got a lot more attention.
Our gazpacho was served without spoons and when we realized it was impossible to get our server's attention I went searching inside to find someone to for spoons.
We were going to order a lot more food after soup, salad, corn dogs, and duck tacos, but it took 45 minutes after salad to get tacos and corn dogs and at this point we had been there OVER TWO HOURS so we just wanted to leave. Drinks took forever to get out and one was incorrect.
Although food was delicious, it was a crappy experience.
The menu is pricy so I was expecting a better experience. It was a waste of time and money.
Loved it! We will def be back!
Ate on the outside patio. It was lovely and quiet. Had a wonderful server and of course the Sangria and food were outstanding!
The food at Ostra was outstanding. We ordered the deviled eggs, bruschetta, duck grilled cheese, and truffle fries. The bruschetta was delightful. The service however was subpar. We ordered the deviled eggs, bruschetta, and fries immediately after sitting down. They all came out at staggered times, which was nice, expect the fries (we never got them, even after asking a few times). The duck grilled cheese was also nice, but small. We did end up getting the fries comped at the very end, and to go (they were delicious and would have been better warm). Overall, I would suggest dining at Ostra; I will probably go back.
Very, very load to a fault. To have a discussion across the table was impossible without shouting. The menu was unusual and interesting. The watermelon salad was superb. I liked the creative menu and would like to pursue more items, but am resistant to retire because of the noise
We ate outside
Tons of flies
Food was over priced and mediocre
Nice server but slow
21st Birthday celebration. They brought dessert!
Fantastic food, interesting combinations. Great service! Half price bottles of wine on Wednesday was a nice touch....we will be back!
This was our first visit, but needless to say it will not be our last!! This is an exceptional restaurant and we both simply enjoyed everything from the time we walked in the door until we left. Amazing!
Our server was very nice and engaging but it took a long time for the food to come out
Some of the most interesting food in town. Elizabeth was a great server...great service and good recommendations.
Love the sustainable creative food options. Excellent service food is amazing!
great meal and wonderful, attentive service. Just, please, no need for concert-hall music volume. Thanks to the waitress who listened to our request to turn it down. It was still loud, but she tried.
Foodies rejoice, we have a new foodie palace in town. Great small plate options. High end cuisine. Signature cocktails and the classics. Nice decor and ambiance. So many interesting items on the menu, I will be back for more tasting and trying.
The beautiful main room was too loud for conversation, so we moved to a very warm indoor patio. We liked our waiter, but he could not answer basic questions about wine and food, and he left us alone for long stretches (with empty glasses). Our oysters came without the sauces we expected, so we thought they had already been added; the food runner had forgotten them. After enjoying yummy bruschetta and very expensive oyster concoctions, we paid the $100 tab and went elsewhere to eat.
It was hot in the restaurant and not comfortable. There were six in our group and the food was not delivered to the table at one time. One persons food was cold. The food was good but not worth the price.
Went to Ostra this week for the first time. My friend and I were thinking we can't wait to come back before we finished what was in front of us. Great plantian tacos, brussel sprout salad dessert was great. Highly recommend.
Service and ambiance on point. The food was so fresh and delicious. Wonderful and not your normal fare. Will go back again soon.
It was our first visit to Ostra and it as wonderful. Everything was great: service, ambience, food & drink. We ordered several dishes to share - you have to try the truffle fries. The best we have ever eaten. We will be back soon!
Six of us dined here.... we all enjoyed dinner. Between the six of us we had all 3 salads on the menu...we loved them all and especially loved the watermelon salad and crispy brussels! Bang Bang chicken was tasty, but we wish it was served as a larger portion! We tried several things and nothing disappointed us. The soft shell crab sliders were topped with a delicious combination of pickles, slaw and unique mayo ~ this was a filling dish. So glad we came here ~ will definitely come again!
Great place!! Beautiful outdoor patio, wonderful service and creative menu.
We shared the entire meal and desserts and it was all delicious.
Consistently great food and service.
Fabulous food! Nice waitress. Service was a little slow at times. Will definitely go back
I have found my new favorite restaurant in Louisville! This was the most interesting food I have had in a long time. I have been hoping to have an opportunity to try cricket flour dishes, so I had the duck tacos and chocolate cake with banana ice cream. Phenomenal! And Wendy was a great server.
Incredible food. Very unique dishes and libations that were extremely vibrant and tasty. I highly recommend and will be back
Delicious food. Tried lots of dishes. Yummy combination of flavors. Service slow and needs some tweaking.
Warm, welcoming service with lovely presentation.
This was one of the very best meals I’ve had in Louisville. An excellent variety on the menu, something for everyone. The best flavors and combinations I could imagine. Starting with the cocktails, they were refreshing and delicious. The crawfish ceviche was also a revelation. After that first course, I already knew I would come back since I wanted to try so many other things. Overall a great value also. Dinner for 2 including cocktails and desserts was under $100. We will be back soon!
My second time going and had a different menu than my first time. The food was just as wonderfully prepared as I remembered from the first time. Fresh ingredients, good selection, and dishes arranged very aesthetically pleasing. Each bite was heavenly.
The food was cold and over-priced. The flavors did not meld. The local summer salad had cucumbers and tomatoes- not local in May in Kentucky. The outdoor patio is wonderful. We would go back to have a glass of wine on the patio, but not for the food.
Inventive dishes with fantastic flavors and a beautiful plating. The service was attentive and informed but not intrusive. Easily one of the best restaurants in Louisville.
Such an inventive and delicious menu! One of my new favs.
Food was exceptional. Well thought out and very well paired, even the mad cow French toast. Amazing!
Probably the best restaurant in louisville right now. All the plates have a special and unique taste that is difficult to duplicate. Service is excellent and the outdoor space is perfect for the summer.
Overall a very impressive experience. Unique menu options you won’t see in just any Louisville restaurant. Excellent appetizers and entrees. Everything we had was delicious. Would recommend to anyone who hasn’t tried this place. Hope to sit outside next time it’s cooler.
