Amazing seafood! But that is all I would go here for, all other things okay.

An outstanding option for seafood, all three of us convinced our entree was the most outstanding. No one mentioned the desserts, heavenly coconut crime brulee.

A very nice place that serves great seafood. While at the pricey end the combination of fresh, well plated ingredients and consistent service make this a place for a special occasion as well as a great night out.

Tried so many things from the menu and all were amazing. Well prepared, well crafted, balanced, flavorful dishes. Creative melt-in-your-mouth tartare dishes. The grilled octopus was just delicious. The gnocchetti was decadent. Branzino, salmon, halibut... all amazing. Highly recommended. Service from Jessica was superior - and a special shout out to Julio who made sure our water was always full and really added to the pleasure of the evening. All around fantastic!

Food was great, really fresh fish. Unfortunately the service was not of the same quality. Pity that none of the staff knows about wines. We got a bottle of wine which was off, and ruined the experience.

Ostra is a great restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere and great food. The tables are a little close and I felt like the menu was a bit limited. The oysters were incredible and the monkfish melted in my mouth.

Best food we've ever had. The halibut main course was insanely good. Amazing! Halibut is generally quite boring but they made it magical. Sooooo good. Highly recommended.

Great place and great food, however this time serving time was slightly longer than usual between courses. Nonetheless, it did not spoil the evening nor influenced heavily on our tipping

Absolutely fantastic food, cocktails, wine & dessert! Yes it was expensive, but we expected that going in - and it was worth it. Our server was Brenda, and she was delightful. Highly recommend this experience!

Ambiance was very nice. Bar tender was great. she was friendly, fun and created a cocktail for me.
As great as the bartender was, the table server was just the opposite.

He found it difficult to engage with us on the menu offering no opinions when asked. He wasn't terrible, but that's not a very good compliment.

Wonderful service! The food reached well beyond our expectations. Each course we had was exciting and dynamic. Highlight of the evening: Maine lobster gnocchetti. Even though we live 2500 miles away (Seattle) we are already planning our next trip to Ostra.

Our family went to Ostra to celebrate my sister's birthday. She loved oysters, and they had a great selection of them, and a very knowledgeable and helpful waiter who told us about the different kinds of oysters. The salmon and seabass tartare were amazing, so was the fresh loaf of bread that came in the beginning. From the first course menu, we really enjoyed the octopus salad (had lemon juice and a char-grilled taste), and the King Crab Tortellini. As well, the desserts were very creative - the coconut flan and the chocolate torte were the best. They even had a candle and customised decoration for my sister on the chocolate cake.

The only down-side was the noise even at 8:30p.m. on a weekday night. I guess that is a sign of a good restaurant, though, just harder to hear each other during conversation. But all in all, a great seafood dining experience!

I have been to Ostra about 6 times for various business and special personal occassions. The food is always excellent and the ambiance a winner. The poor service on this particular occassion differed from the excellent service all the other times. It was VERY slow, we had to hunt our waiter down on more than one occasion, and the feeling of excellence was much less than prior occasions. I guess I will need to look for another place with more consistently excellent service for business meals, as I cannot take the risk this will happen again. At the very premium prices Ostra charges, they need to deliver excellence every single time. Really.

A desappointing experience: We have booked in advance and confirmed the reservation for our 30th anniversary. Arrived on time on a rainy night. The put us on a table as far away from the scene as possible, facing the walls. We asked to change and they offer to do so in our next visit (very optimistic view). The food was very good but the service was slow and not attentive (she was nice, but too busy). They didn´t have the wine we ordered. We got another one but the bill came charging for both. We felt we were being "processed", not served.
Not sure the point of informing the type of occasion to Open Table if they don´t care. Don´t plan to come back.

The seafood was good, but not as good as reviews would let you think - and not good enough at the price.
Especially in the paella, the lobster and shrimp were simply overcooked.

The food was incredibly disappointing. Tough lobster. Overcooked paella. Not particularly tasty crab. Mediocre food presentation/decoration. Ambiance was nice, service good, but a place like this should be about the food. It was-but for the wrong reasons.

4 of us for dinner. This place is amazing. The food was delicious. The bread was very unusual and tasty. I started with yellowfin tuna carpaccio presented in a really unique way - a thin slice of tuna (slightly cooked around the edges) and topped with crunch, a little spice, a little green - fantastic! The Halibut was great. An interesting selection of desserts. Our server was excellent - attentive, helpful, but not intrusive. The dining room is very chic- white, gray & black. We had 3 dinners in Boston on this trip, and this was by far the best. I wholeheartedly recommend you try it!
Thank you, Ostra!

Ostra is one of the best restaurants in Boston, especially for seafood lovers. The raw oysters are wonderful. The Paella “Valenciana Style” contains an extraordinary selection of perfectly prepared items, including lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams, octopus, and squid, plus chorizo and rice. The pan roasted halibut is equally delicious. The wine selection is comprehensive, and includes a nice variety of wines by the glass and half bottle. The restaurant is expensive but worth the price for a special occasion.

We were looking for a really posh restaurant for a quick trip in Boston with local seafood and creative presentation. Ostra exceeded our expectations. The decor, the menu, the pianist in the bar, everything was first class.

Food was wonderful, but the noise level was nearly prohibitive to have a conversation, even at after 9 PM at night. As a result, we thought that the overall value for the experience was good... but not great.

We received a gift card for dinner. We are not fish eaters, so the menu was limited. We found the noise level to be extremely high where it was difficult to carry on a conversation without raising your voice. The food was over priced. The service was very good though.

The food was delicious and imaginative. The starter of lobster and gnocchi was fantastic and with a real flavour sensation. All my companions enjoyed their food equally and were all very enthusiastic about everything we ordered.
The service was OK but the waiter looked flustered and was not serving the tables in our area with any logical plan, so that the neighbours who arrived well after us had their drinks and starter before we had even had a menu. So the service did not match the quality of the food.
The atmosphere was buzzing and laid back - and the decor is lovely.
It is pricey (wine especially expensive) so good for a special occasion rather than every day dining, but I would recommend on the excellent flavours alone.
