The steaks were done to perfection. The special open faced beef Wellington was delicious. Such a beautiful place.
Excellent service by everyone especially TREVOR
Marathon celebration with friends and family
First time at Ostra and it was a great experience. Our server was fantastic and paced our food. The food itself was a star. Excellent and fresh seafood. The branzino for 2 is a must. Fun to watch the table-side preparation. Great restaurant!
The atmosphere was amazing, the service was spot on. Our server was very friendly and very helpful with suggestions and recommendations.
The paella was outstanding! We have eaten paella in all corners of the world, including Spain and this is the best to date. Thank you for a perfectly moist, tasty, fresh, well balanced dish. We'll bring paella lovers to taste this delight!
Excellent food! I love this restaurant! Staff is friendly and knows the food and the whole fish is like non other.... please try it
Excellent food. Very good service. Very expensive. Difficult to hear table conversations due to very loud room volume, poor acoustics.
A little disconcerting having several staff waiting, clearing and serving. We actually couldn’t identify who our waiter was, although two of them were lovely. One staff member returned abruptly several times to remove or replace plates but never once excused himself or spoke at all- maybe not the right attidude for the hospitality industry... Food was very good, as expected. Fish display when you walk in is amazing. Have desert, so worth it!
Como siempre, muy buena atención, comida excelente y servicio maravilloso
We had a nice experience at Ostra; the drinks and wine were excellent and the service was great, but the food was not worth the price. We went specifically for the salt crusted branzino and it was disappointing. We were expecting it to be filleted table-side and it was not. It was presented to us whole on a platter and then taken away, and we were brought plates of fish fillets. For all we know, the whole fish was just a prop. That's certainly what it felt like. It was also over seasoned. The beauty of cooking the fish in the salt (besides the perfect texture) is the simple elegance of flavor it draws out, but this one was drenched in an oil and lemon sauce that completely overwhelmed the fish. If you don't like fish, it's a great option because you can't even taste the fish, only the lemon sauce, and don't get me wrong, the sauce was good, just too much. While we ultimately enjoyed everything (despite the slightly disappointing fish), I just didn't find it worth the price. I'm happy to pay good money for good food, but we've had many better meals for less.
Food and service were excellent, and any issues were addressed quickly and efficiently. The layout of the space is a bit challenging for wait staff depending on how they set up their table tops. Space also can get noisy based on design and choice of flooring. This can be addressed in their upcoming renovations with a change in flooring type (i.e. cork, or adding felt under tables and chairs as this will support sound dampening.
Food was excellent and the kitchen staff were excellent.
Favorite Boston restaurant.
The food was absolutely incredible. The service was great. A tiny little restaurant that was bursting with people. Would definitely recommend. The crab risotto is an absolute must.
One of the top seafood places I've ever eaten, and I'm pretty critical. The langoustine Crudo and roasted monkfish were exceptional!
Could not ask for better seafood or service!
Loved it! The food was excellent and the service was even better!
Service was outstanding- Waitress from Brazil was excellent. Food was delicious . Plan on returning on next visit to Boston.
Great restuarant. Service outstanding and food delicious. Very large menu that allows for a lot of choice. Impressed with the diverse deomographic in the room. Definitely on my go to list of places to eat in Boston.
We had a great dinner in a very nice atmosphere. Our seats were comfortable, and the restaurant was relatively quiet. Our waiters were cordial and attentive. All in all, we had a great experience. I would recommend Ostra wholeheartedly.
Very lovely except one heavy hostess wearing too small a black dress with breasts popping out.
One of the best places in town for seafood. Langoustine as appetizer was excellent. Monkfish with wild mushrooms was very tasty. Wine list is quite good. Waitstaff was very effective and friendly.
Thought it was just another over priced restaurant. The food was ok but not worth the $300 bill. The appetizers were good, drinks were good, main courses were ok.
Never disappoints. Fro start to finish our time was superb. Great team and the food is so special.
Very good food. Enjoyed the lobster gnochetti very much. Unfortunately we were seated very closely next to an obnoxiously loud man that made dinner not good. Tables are too close together.
Menu diversifié pour les amateurs de fruits de mer et poissons. Qualité supérieure, service impeccable.
Brought a 6-year old along to this otherwise childless environment. A few couples refused to sit near us. A nice couple did sit next to us and engaged in some banter with him. Service was very attentive to the point of replacing silverware and napkins multiple times during the meal. Wife had the filet, I had the ribeye and son had a pasta meal that the kitchen created for him as there is no kids menu. We all had artistically presented meals and my wife surprisingly said it was the best steak she has ever had, which is saying a lot. Finished up with lemon and berry sorbet and then a while listening to the piano. Nice wine selection and intelligent advice from the server. We were impressed.
Everything was incredible. Very expensive but unique food and great but subtle service. Perfect for lots of different occasions. Ours was a special meal with friends before a play on Tremont, just a block away.
Next time we are in Boston Ostra is a must. We mostly enjoyed the first course offerings. The best bite was the cuttlefish ink spaghetti, it was delectable with just the right hint of spice. The grilled spanish octopus was tender and tasty and the Ricotta Gnocchetti was melt in you mouth delicious.
Had a wonderful evening! We will be back!
Amazing as always
Staff excellent and warm
We greatly enjoyed our meal, it was a very special evening for us.
Boston is seafood. Ostra is Boston. A really great place to feel the lovely seafood tasting in an outstanding way. This is food that is really great. It is on high level and the service is very nice. The only small thing that they could change is the sound of the music. Why turn the music up so loud when you have such a great food and want to enjoy more the food then the atmosphere.
Food was cooked to perfection. Branzini simply grilled was delightful. Excellent wine pairing was suggested - would not have picked this on my own. Enjoyed the dining room ambiance. This was my second time dining and I plan to come back.
Delightful..... second visit and hope to return soon........
Amazing food and service ! The salted branzino is to die for!
It was a post Moms birthday, and a day to celebrate my new job on the horizon so it felt very exciting to take in both of the the celebrations. Ostra was awesome love this place good to be back.
Exceptional food and service! I would definitely return and recommend. On the pricey side, but WELL worth it.
We had a lucky evening with our daughter. Dinner was great with phantastic quality of fish. Price/quality relation is perfect! We loved it! P.S. Thank you for switching the wrong-done reservation!!!
