Great evening, amazing food and service. Sure to return
They do it right !
We recently had dinner at Ostra for our Anniversary 31 years. Wonderful memorable meal. Thanks for adding to this special occasion.
Best meal I have had in a long time. Expensive, but, well worth it.
Food was outstanding four of us had the branzino it was delicious. My only complaint is it is a little bit noisy… If you have trouble hearing and want to have a conversation I would not recommend it otherwise everything was perfect.
Best seafood in Boston. Noise level grew as it filled up. Foodie heaven, every dish had layers and layers of deliciousness!!!
Food and service were excellent. Noise level so high we could barely hear each other across a table for two.
Start to finish, the best dinner I have ever had. The food was beautifully plated, the flavours were just perfect, and each dish exceeded my expectations.
My server, Margaret, was incredibly attentive without being intrusive, and really sealed the whole experience.
Next time I am in Boston, I will be back!
PREPARE TO PAY $200+ But well worth the experience. Our 2+ person dinner was $400
Best oysters we have ever had!! All the seafood dishes were great! Atmosphere was lively and staff were helpful and kind.
Bus trip to Boston. Read rave reviews for Ostra. Res for Sat June 2 @9. After being seated, realized we couldn’t carry on a conversation across our table, too noisy, loud. We moved to bar & was great! Quiet, great barkeep’s, enjoyed our fabulous meal. Food was amazing!!!
The food was amazing as well as the service. We will be back!
Great restaurant for a special occasion, very upscale, we loved iy
The service was very good and overall atmosphere was uplifting. My husband's skate wing was overly salty, my broiled lobster also was on the salty end and overcooked. The flavors were good especially for the lobster, but the end result was not outstanding. And for the price we paid for the meal, it should have been outstanding. Otherwise everything was fresh, oysters were really good and sorbet for dessert cleared away the saltiness.
Ostra really exceeded our expectations. Great restaurant. Food was excellent and the service absolutely perfect.
The ambiance was very good too. We will definitely go back when in Boston.
Possibly our favorite restaurant. Food is immaculate. Period.
Excellent the food was out of this world.
Excellent in all respects. Spectacular food, great service.
A bit too loud to my taste
25th wedding anniversary dinner was amazing, primarily because of the customer service. For the price the food was well prepared but underwhelming. The black sea bass was over charred and the appetizers were rather bland. The service was outstanding and the wines were fantastic. As slow as the kitchen was, the server kept us entertained as well as our glasses full.
Food was outstanding, service a bit disjointed. Some of the order was forgotten, then brought late.
Outstanding food and experience
Ostra is pricey (specially the wine list)but service, food, ambiance is extraordinary
Continues to be one of the best restaurants in town. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and really make the dining experience even better. The salmon tartare and grilled octopus never disappoint. Don’t skip the oyster martini. It’s so much fun!
Anniversary dinner. Pricey but food and service were great. Extensive selections. Would definitely go back.
Amazing, great food and atmosphere. Loved the place.
I adore Ostra!! We eat here often. It's my favorite restaurant in Boston. I love Italian Seafood and Ostra is just the best!! The food is unique and super high quality. The staff is the best and the service is amazing but not stuffy. The Sea Bream is divine!!!
Ostra seafood is amazing! I definitely plan to return to enjoy more of it.
We enjoyed the atmosphere as well as a great selection of wines and mixed drinks.
The appetizers and first course were outstanding, as was the bread served to us. The main course was not quite as good (imported fish from Greek waters cooked whole); a little dry and a bit bland but for the lemon. The vegetable medley was overpowered by the oil used to season it as well.
Desserts were great and the staff was attentive but not intrusive-will dine here again.
First time at Ostra and thought it was excellent. The service was superb, very attentive and cordial without being smothering. We had a table for two and sat next to another table for two and it almost felt like we were dining together as the tables were so close. We had the salt crusted branzino, clearly a specialty of the house and it was beautifully prepared and presented at tableside. There was plenty of fish for two people. The first course dishes we tried were both excellent. While my wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed the meal, it was one of the more expensive meals we have ever had in Boston and compared less favorably to previous dinners we had eaten at the old Aujourd'hui, L'espalier, and several other high end restaurants in town. If you have the branzino and a decent but not extravagant bottle of wine, along with a first course and coffee (we split a dessert), the bill for two is going to run over $300 with tip.
Phenomenal! Food and service was outstanding.
Then restaurant exceeded our hopes despite all the awards and positive reviews raising our expectations. The service was so gracious, warm and professional. The seafood was among the best we’ve ever tasted. We were too full for dessert so want to go back. Diners around us were oohing and ahhing.
We showed up ahead of our reservation and were seated right away. Our main courses were break and skate. Both were great. The skate was deboned, which is time consuming but much appreciated. The jumbo white asparagus were delicious. The menu is very seasonal. The wine list was extensive and if you searched there were reasonably priced options. We had a very good German Reinking for $50. After reading glowing reviews my wife got the “egg” for dessert. I had the flourless chocolate cake. Both lived up to our expectations. Lastly the service was spot on. We’ve been to lots of famous seafood restaurants, such as Le Bernadine in NYC, Joe’s Stone Crab in Miami, and Le Dôme in Paris. This restaurant is in that league.
overall a great dining experience. Unique food preparations, all very fresh and each flavor stood on its own. Favorite place in Boston right now, great ambiance and service too. Wife has Gluten allergy and their homemade GF pasta is amazing, same with the GF bread
My wife and I went here for our 1st wedding anniversary, I had reservations for 6:30pm and arrived around 6:00 hoping to get a spot at the bar. We sat in the lounge area and Sam, our waitress said she would let us know if a spot opened up and just as we finished our first drink we got two great seats. Mickey (?) our bartender was great as well- attentive but not obtrusive. We had a couple of appetizers and her Sangria ( was better than my wife’s - wife agreed). The food was excellent and the presentation beautiful as well. We will be back. The car valet I wasn’t crazy about- but other that that a great place.
Excellent as always. This is our "go to" restaurant when hosting guests.
The grilled octopus appetizer is always cooked to perfection.
All of the entrees are cooked with the delicate balance between flavor and sophistication.
Best restaurant in Boston for seafood
It was a good place w/ great food. High on price but that’s understood going in. It’s for special occasion unless u can afford it on a daily basis 😉
I wish I lived in Boston so I could eat here all the time! We are from the LA area and Providence is our measure of top notch, creative seafood and service. Ostra is just as amazing. We had 6 different small plates and caviar and each was better than the last. Really well informed wait staff, with perfect, measured service. Our waiter suggested the proper sequence of our plates so the flavors would balance. We shared all our plates and without asking, they individually plated each for us, so we wouldn't have to "fight" over splitting each plate. Presentation was super!
Great food, great service, great time
