Dropped in with my daughter after a day of touring Boston. Ambiance is moderately energetic and interior is beautiful. The service was good, the kind when you don’t know who is your server because many come to the table at various points in time. Hamachi was so fresh and citrus combined with jalapeños was delicious as an appetizer. I had grilled sea bass. Daughter had filet. Both were prepared perfectly. Overall great experience. Could use one in LA!
Had reservations for 730, didn’t get seated until 745. Very loud and lots of tables in the restaurant without enough servers. Appetizers were delicious, we had the octopus and gnocchetti dish - both were fabulous. Paella was great. Monkfish was also good but caliber of entrees not the same as the apps. Snow egg is OK - nothing out of this world.
Great food - try the Sea Bass Tartare which was truly outstanding.
The setting is plain and seating table was small and crowded but if you get by the food will be great.

Fantastic food all around. Oysters were remarkable along with grilled octopus and grilled sea bass. Great service from all.
Went there for Valentines Day. The dinner was spectacular. We ate at the bar and it was a great experience. The appetizers were outstanding, started with tuna tartare, then had crisp snow pea salad as recommended, also delicious. Then we had the grilled octopus which was best ever, they melted in your mouth. Main course was the salted Bronzino for two again best ever. I highly recommend this restaurant when in Boston as we were visiting from Long Island.
Our Valentine's day dinner at Ostra was less than spectacular. There were several high points. The service was very good, the cocktails were excellent, and the dessert was as beautiful to look at as any dessert I've ever seen. But the food was only so-so. The octopus appetizer was outstanding, but the calamari was much too salty. My date's paella was overcooked, as was my broiled lobster. The flavors were very good, but the preparation just wasn't executed very well. And for the price we paid for the meal, it should have been outstanding. We were there early, before it got too busy, so there was no excuse that the kitchen was rushed. Perhaps it was just a bad night, but unfortunately, it was at our expense.

We arrived early and enjoyed a drink at the bar. The food was excellent with a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. We would definitely return again.
