Need to book at 11:15 PM?Other great restaurants with availability.
The staff here was terrific and they accommodated our timing given that we were headed to the theater. The food we ordered was very good and they split the entree for those who were sharing. Restaurant is on the high end with regard to cost but honestly if we didn’t have to rush we would have enjoyed it more!
This was my third time dining here. Our meals were delicious, the service was excellent. I will be back! Thanks for a great night.
The food and the service were excellent. We had alaskan king crab for 1st course, fish for second. Both of us. One drink, one glass of wine, one soft drink. Nothing else. $300 Definitely not worth it.
Fantastic fare. Fish was out of this world.
Ostra is a special place and we are THRILLED it's right in our neighborhood!! Start at the bar with the piano playing in the distance, then migrate into the dining room for incredible dishes inspired by the sea. A+++
Very expensive. Food very good. I am Celiac, and was able to eat comfortably. The server brought what we think now were GF rolls, but no regular rolls, so my husband ate them, noting they were not very good. Quite loud!
Vastly overpriced place. I think people go there just to show they don't care about money. Ordered the paella; the shellfish was overcooked and rubbery. Big on presentation, low on value.
The octopus was amazing, the steak was incredibly flavorful and the ambiance was perfect!
Incredible food, lovely atmosphere and very professional staff. The best kind of dining experience one looks forward to.
A great experience! They take your coat and make great recommendations as far as wine pairing. A worthwhile splurge!
My husband and I dined here on Valentines day - busy night but our waiter was top notch! The food was amazing, and the drinks were delightful. Would recommend this for any fun celebration. Not too fancy stuffy - a nice ambiance that makes you feel welcomed!
The service was very slow. Other than that everting was good.
Service was impeccable. Food was extraordinary. Conversation level extremely high. Annoying music with bass beat playing unnecessarily.
Ostra has a very nice vibe; the food is excellent and the menu has a lot of variety for seafood-lovers. We had reservations for 5:30 pre-theater. We arrived a little early and had a drink at the bar. They have a really nice cocktail menu and an excellent selection of wines. For dinner we shared some oysters, tried an appetizer and then a couple of our party ordered Paella and I had an appetizer (which was more than enough) with Alaskan King Crab and risotto. Everything was delicious. We would definitely return!! The bartender and the server were both top notch.
An overall excellent experience albeit somewhat expensive. Great for a special occasion.
Ostra was such a wonderful dinner spot. The wait staff were very friendly and personable. I was treated like a queen. The food was amazing. The lobster was nice and the presentation was great. Would definitely recommend.
The staff food and drinks were incredible!
Some of best food and service I have ever experienced in fine dining.
We’re from London UK. The services were absolutely phenomenal. We stayed in Boston Harbour hotel and the concierge also recommended to have a dinner here . The lobster was delicious however the shrimp with horseradish that we had for appetiser tasted like a chlorine(?). Also the one my mum had for her main dish , Paella was very watery . I would say it’s more like a risotto rather than Paella ( still tasted good though !). All in all it was good . Thank you !
The raw fish dishes are superb. The Bronzino is one of the best that I have ever had.
Birthday celebration with family
Ostra was great... would advise friends to go, actually already have... Service is good but food is great.
Wonderful as always
Had a great time in Boston and a wonderful meal at Ostra! The food was amazing...we had the Sea Bass Tartare, Grilled Octopus and the Monk Fish. All were delicious, but the Tartare stands out as extra special! My date and I like to share plates and the wait staff was super accommodating. We very much appreciated this and it made for a relaxing and enjoyable experience!
First-rate seafood with excellent service.
The food and atmosphere were exceptional. Our server Mario was a delight. His recommendations for our meal and wine were awesome!!
Apps were incredible but the fish was ok. The main dish was not worth the price paid. Also service was not up to the standards of such a fine place.
Always outstanding seafood and service! By far best seafood in Boston.
Exquisitely prepared seafood; the citrus hamachi is a special favorite.
I have never been disappointed here
I love this restaurant! Consistent good food and great service! I go almost every two weeks! This time sat at the bar and bar tenders wine recommendation was amazing! Thank you!
Great appetizer mushy grilled fish entree. Restaurant has become place for large groups of businessmen yucking it up. Uninteresting decor and so so waiter. Loud &. charmless
We enjoyed our meal at Ostra. The tables are far apart, and it was not too loud until a large party entered and though seated at the back they were very loud. Our waiter was very on top of things and thoughtful. The one item I regret was the tomato-based fish soup. It was really too much like tomato out of a jar, with a few pieces of fish in it. I expected it to have more flavor and finesse and lots more fish. It gave me heart-burn. Our entree of the salt-covered fish was tender as can be and perfect. The fresh warm bread was really quite good. The waiter gave us a dessert to make up for the loud group in the back, which was very nice and unexpected. We would go back, but as this is a very expensive choice relative to other places in the area, we won't be taking the whole family.
Great food and service! Hands down the best sea food in Boston!
In one word: outstanding. Beautiful restaurant that was not noisy despite the fact that it was crowded. Impeccable service without being fussy. Excellent food. The hamachi crudo was the best I have ever had. The first course garlic, seafood pasta was truly great!! The rose wine was a 10. Prices were reasonable for the quality. I cannot wait to go back.
It was our wedding anniversary.
Everyone was super nice and accommodating from valet personnel, greeters at the front desk and wait staff. We asked for a table closer to the middle of the dining room since it was our first time dining at the restaurant and we wanted to enjoy the ambience. The food was delicious and the staff from water server to food clearers were wonderful. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the wine list and also helped navigate the dinner menu especially since I have a diary allergy.
We didn’t want to leave. A Very fun time. Can’t wait to go back!
King Crab risotto was phenomenal, as was the sea bass tartare!
Great as always!! Fantastic service! Food was excellent! Becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Boston!
Fantastic service and the meal was delicious.
Has an amazing dinner and the food and environment was wonderful. Only issue was trying to leave for a show and had to ask for the check 3 times. It took about 30 minutes to get the check while we had no drinks or food left everyone just kept passing by us.
Beautiful restaurant, impeccable service with wonky timing (plates were cleared between courses, but then a 10 minute wait for the next, which was unexpected). Food was not as good as expected, and not a great value. Appetizers were great but expensive. The hamachi was excellent, the local oysters were very small, I would say fairly tasty, gnocchetti were fantastic, best dish of the night. I ordered the snapper, which was grilled, served without any kind of sauce, super bland and dry. Branzino was marginally better. If you're going to cook fish with no/little fat, you should include some kind of sauce or veg that complements the fish- not potatoes and radish. Sides were meh- the broccolini with roasted pine nuts was okay but not outstanding, the truffle fries were quite good, but I've had better across town. We skipped dessert/coffee as we were headed to the theater (and the weird slowdown in service midway through the meal meant it took 80 minutes to finish entrees). Suffice to say I had high expectations given the $$$$ menu, but I had a much better seafood meal for a more reasonable price a week ago at a suburban restaurant. I think they need to work on their menu to make this worth $100+/person not including dessert/coffee.
