Delicious food. Best local oysters.
Lauren @ the bar is a rockstar
Excellent Meal and service. Very fresh fish and lovely presentation.
Service was impeccable and the food was great. It was a very enjoyable evening.
The staff was very helpful and flexible. Dinner was delicious. An excellent experience. Looking forward to returning.
it was a delicious experience and the attendant Brenda contributed a lot with her excellent service
Wonderful atmosphere !! Delicious food!
Never fails as the perfect dining place
Excellent food and the service is, for the most part, very good
Our dinner was awesome and our server Stephen was incredible. My halibut was the best I’ve ever had. Fantastic wine list also!! Can’t wait to come back to Boston so we can go to Ostra again!!
Really amazing experience. We hadn't been in a few years, and they have not missed a bit. Food was delicious and presentation is beautiful. Highly recommend!
Fantastic as always. Our go to place for special events. Good and service and room are top notch
Amazing ambience and spectacular food. Our waitress Brenda was so friendly and helpful that she made us feel comfortable immediately. The wine list was excellent and the sommelier was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion, date night or a really nice friends night out! You
Amazing, top place
Fabulous all around
Really great gluten free bread to start. Apps we got was perfectly cooked and seasoned - octopus was crispy but soft inside, sea bass with truffle oil was so good, the fried oysters that I cannot eat were enjoyed by my friends. The branzino and paella were excellent. The GF chocolate cake was perfect to complete the meal. The service were attentive and friendly.
I don’t usually write reviews, but I
I had higher expectations of the food, after my first and only other visit to Ostra. Sadly, we were disappointed that we'd picked Ostra for a birthday celebration.
Lovely restaurant. Sat/ate in lounge area to listen to the piano player. hostess/server was wonderful. On the pricey side for portion size. but food was delicious.
We travel to Boston often and this is the one restaurant that is a "must" every time. It never disappoints. Spectacular food, great service, beautiful decor, and we recently discovered that the cocktail menu also is amazing. It doesn't get better than this.
Start of our vacation and couldn’t have had a better meal! Service was attentive and professional. Just what we needed.
The food and service were exceptional we traveled from New York and it was worth it!
Delicious food, great service. We had a lovely time.
Great interpretation and execution of food. Good service. A little noisy due to the high ceiling but that was expected
Overall the dishes came out well except gnochetto was a bit salty. The service is crazy good.
Trendy, loud, expensive Mediterranean Seafood restaurant.
Overall experience was good, but not special.
The music sort of pounds more like a night club than a lovely dining experience. Service started-off as stellar, but as restaurant filled-up and server got busier, we seemed to have been forgotten - finally had to summon another staff member to get our server.
Prices are at the very top of the range for fine dining (Paella entre $45, Petite Fillet $43). Food was good, but it felt like a busy business restaurant (Ruth’s Chris, Capital Grill, etc.) instead of a nice, intimate dinner we were hoping for.
They surprised us with a lovely dessert to mark our occasion, and that was much appreciated.
All-up, good, but not great.
Ostra is and will always be my favorite restaurant in Boston! It never disappoints, thank you so much.
Lovely special occasion dinner. Knowledgeable staff that perfectly paired our wine with our entrees( baked monkfish &paella) our glasses were filled the service was attentive w/o being cloying. Couldn't have been better!
Traveling to Boston for fun, we booked Ostra on a whim for our last evening there. We had enjoyed fantastic food all week, but the food and service outshined every other place we visited. The fish we had was perfectly prepared. My wife and I have eaten at a lot of great restaurants in our travels, this one ranks with the memorable ones.
Amazing! This restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way possible.
The one upside was the food. The steak, and fish were cooked perfectly, though presentation was as basic as possible, and knife work was nonexistent. Sides were a pointless mess and even included a carrot rind. The pasta course was flavorful but contained several lobster shell bits. The room was loud, table was uncomfortably close to the next table to the point we could hear their conversation, they could hear ours despite a chaotic loud environment. It felt like we were having dinner with strangers. If the pricing was at half of the actual cost, it would still come in at fair, not a $350 experience by any stretch.
My wife and I were there for our anniversary. Outstanding atmosphere, food was amazing as was our main server Catherine. All the staff was super attentive. Great evening thank you to everyone!
The negroni and octopus were fabulous, as was the Merry Edwards white wine and seafood soup. Our waitress (Catherine?) was attentive and very normal. I liked my pink snapper a lot, though my husband felt his grouper was a bit over cooked. The dining room decor was lovely, though it was awfully loud in there. So, overall, four stars, rather than five, especially given the price (well over $300 with tip).
We had an outstanding dinner at Ostra on a busy Saturday evening. The food was fabulous - all fish dishes were really fresh and well prepared. The pasta dishes, while small, were very tasty. My gnocchi with lobster was fabulous and so rich that the small portion was just right.
Service was outstanding - very attentive but not obtrusive at all and respectful of not disturbing our rather intense conversation.
Food prices were high but not over the top, reasonable for a top tier restaurant. Wine list pricing however was very high. Although this was a special occasion, we had to work to find wines that met our needs at the lower end of the list. The wines we did choose were excellent.
We would definitely return for another special evening out and are seriously considering it for a dinner event in 2020.
Another amazing night at Ostra!
Service was excellent. Food was mediocre.
Best high end sea food restaurant in Boston.....for special occasions.......downside.....need dress requirement....many patrons dress like slobs
Wow! One of the BEST experiences I’ve ever had. First time to Boston, First time to Ostra and all the reviews did not disappoint. We had 5/5 star night. The ambiance was spectacular. Our service was superb, our waitress Brenda was quick and friendly, and our first assist Sonia were all exceptional. The manager, Sophia came over several times to check on us. I’d highly recommend the Crispy Oysters as an app.
A bit pricey, but the seafood is always fresh and perfectly prepared. This was our fourth or fifth time there, and I must say the level of service from the hosts, wait staff, servers, and water folks actually is higher than before but it was always extremely high. Higher in the sense that they are not only regularly checking in on you, but I noticed they ALL will stop & pick up small things to keep the dining area impeccably clean. The staff is also well dressed and speak professionally first yet will also be people without being too casual. Perfect service to compliment the food. Keeps getting better and was high to begin with.
