Osteria Saporino Ratings and Reviews
What a great addition to the area. Love it here. Meeting a client here for lunch and it was perfect. They respected our time limit and the food was delicious. Will return for dinner with the family. Keep it going guys i wish you a lot of success.
The food was delicious. Excellent and interesting beef tartare appetizer, rich mushroom soup that WAS NOT
cream based had a full rich mushroom flavor, savory pumpkin ravioli also very good. Bronzino was expertly filleted, moist and flavorful.
We will definitely dine at Oseteria Saporino again!
However, as is the case with many restaurants, the specials were priced 30%+ high than other similar items on the menu. This would be fine if the server gave the price when telling about the specials. We asked and were told prices and opted for specials in spite of upcharge.
I am sharing this as we are always on the lookout for high quality, nearby BYOB restaurants and want them to succeed, it is always a rude shock to order specials and find dining expenses well exceeding what was expected from menu pricing.
Ultimately, for all restaurants, specials pricing should be in line with menu pricing or preferably the cost of the specials is provided with description as it is on the printed menu.
I have been to Osteria Saporino six or seven times over the past nine months. Each visit has been less satisfying than the visit before. Originally, I gave this restaurant an excellent review. Check out my initial review on Yelp - 3/28/2017. But it seems that the quality of the food and service has continuously declined while the cost of the meal seems to increase. (I don't remember prices from various visits but my sense is that the prices have noticeably increased.)
Our last visit was a party of four. I had the special (Bronzino). The fish was over-cooked. The side dishes (vegetables and potatoes) was quite sparse. My wife had the Eggplant Napoleon for her main course. She said that it was served "tepid". My guests had the seafood/pasta special and said they enjoyed their food. I thought the portions - particularly the pasta portions - were small.
I also think that the quality of service has declined. On our first few visits we had great service but not so much anymore.
Its hard to imagine that I will be heading back to this restaurant anytime soon.
The warm octopus salad and the grilled peach caprese salad were fabulous. You wasn't thrilled about the remainder of the meal. The lasagna did not seem fresh and the pizza was cold and the sauce was dark. We had tiramisu for dessert and that was adequate. I would go back for the octopus but it's not on the menu so you have to call and see if they have it as a special.
I was pleasantly surprised with Osteria Sapporino. Not usually a fan of shopping center restaurants.
The menu was really interesting and close to Real Italian . Not gravy and meatballs, but quality food. There could have been a bit more spice but the shrimp and calamari in my dish was cooked perfectly and the pasta was very tasty and cooked perfectly.
I love a byo restaurant.
The room was large and a bit noisy. We asked to have our table moved and they were very accommodating.
I would come back again when a want a nice dinner with friends
Nice atmosphere and delicious food. Service was excellent continuously moving around and making sure everyone was taken care of. Brought a nice bottle of amarone and loved the whole experience. We will return sooner rather than later. Try this place.
White table cloths, Italian music, green patio. Knowledgeable staff, awesome food. We went out for a quiet family dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The grilled octopus appetizer was to die for. So were the shrimp ravioli. The tuna special was delicious. Dinner ended with panacotta - one of the fabulous looking desserts on their dessert tray. Highly recommend!
We spent a pleasant Thursday evening with friends who wanted a chance to enjoy a good meal and conversation together. Osterio Saporino did not disappoint. Our meals were excellent. We shared a delicious eggplant parmigiana appetizer. Just enough for a taste. The salmon entree was delicious. The red snapper came surrounded with mussels. I thought the menu said clams. The pasta dish with seafood had a tasty light wine sauce. The wait staff was attentive but did not rush. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner. It was not crowded at 7 that evening so we did not have a noise level problem. I would recommend this place to friends.
