Michaud's classic take on Italian cuisine presented the perfect addition to Schulson Collective with Osteria's award-winning menu of antipasti, homemade pastas, house-cured salumi, authentic Neapolitan and Roman-style pizzas, wood-grilled meats, seafood and decadent desserts.
Complementing this menu is a fine selection of wine, handcrafted cocktails and craft beer.
Classically designed to have a warm, evocative aesthetic in an industrial setting, Osteria’s spacious dining room, glass-enclosed patio and private dining rooms—including a chef’s table—make it the perfect place for occasions of all scopes and sizes, whether it’s a quiet night out with friends and family, or a boisterous celebration with dozens of guests.

Northern Rustic Italian food. The ambiance was very romantic and small. Even though there was a lot of room, if other people sat around my table, I could have reached over and eaten their food. However, the service was great, she called us up prior to the reservation to still confirm that we would come and our waitress gave us recommendations of which dishes/what would be a better choice for us. The drinks were fruity and refreshing and paired nicely with the food because some of the dishes were quite heavy. The dishes itself were designed to be shared, I think after 3 dishes we were so full that we had to take the rest home. Coming from an Italian background, the dishes reminded me of my childhood and were savory, mild and had very fresh ingredients.
Really delicious food, cocktails and presentation...personable staff and very attentive. Easy street parking.
Service was lacking. We have been going to Osteria for the last decade, and the service was poor this time out. Seems like they have taken to saving money by getting rid of the service proffesionals they used to employ and replacing them with pooy trained staff.
Booked for a pre-dinner meal before a show at the Met. East walk from the Met. Very nice place from the outside and it's complemented when you go through the door. No booths, just open table and bar seating, plus a great outdoor patio setup. Food is Northern Italian. While the menu isn't that close to our liking, what we ordered was well prepared and came out in a timely manner. Plus, and this is a BIG PLUS, even for a busy Friday night, they don't rush you out of the place. We love that. Prices are reasonable and equal to the quality of the food. A big recommendation from us.
Branzino fish served in almost a soup! And had bones even tho was filletted. Worst bramzino I’ve had in a very long time
Our experience was outstanding. We got to the restaurant early and they were happy to seat us immediately. Was impressed by the level of service, given it was a very busy night since was a concert at the Met and a lot more diners than normal. Everyone was friendly, service was great and food was amazing.
Would definitely go back.
Food and Service were awesome!
I am a vegetarian and I ordered the roasted vegetables which said nothing in the description about containing any kind of meat. However when I was eating them there was pancetta mixed in with the Brussels sprouts. Very disappointing. Also, the vegetables were roasted but also pickled which I did not like. Again, the description on the menu did not indicate this. Would not order then again.
The artichoke pizza on the other hand was absolutely delicious and would return to Osteria for that!!
Our waiter was new and he was very accommodating and friendly. Did an excellent job!
Fresh fish, pizza very tasty
Service was poor and we noticed the tables on either side of us were having problems as well. Our second entree arrived 15 minutes after the first, it took 4 requests for a napkin (there was none at one of the place settings). There are not a lot of good options in the area so it is a shame the service is not better. Food was fine but they certainly don't knock it out of the park. Still if I had to tell a person where to go in this area with the limited options I still might mention it.
Great food, Amazing service. A touch loud, but most restaurants I've visited in Philly are.
Really enjoyed our meal there and will definitely be back. Loved the Chicken Liver pasta - so good!!
As always the food was superb. The special entree of bucatini with pork ragu was amazing. Service was perfect. Great special dinner for fiancé birthday.
We ordered a bunch of different plates to share. Everything tasted fine but nothing really wowed us or was very memorable. None of the main dishes appealed to us either. The desserts were the best part of the meal. Would rather try other restaurants instead of returning here to eat.
Let the buyer beware.........ok food, good service. Very small portions. Martini $17 too steep. The worst part was it came in a kid size cup (of all the lousy ways to save a few bucks, don’t insult the intelligence of a customer). I pretty much got ripped off. Never going back.
Excellent service, food outstanding.
We have dined at Osteria several times over the past two years. This time we decided to order the Convivio. We had artichokes, vegetable antipasti, charred octopus, fusilli, spring pea cappelletti and pork chop. The artichokes and vegetable antipasti were very good. The octopus was very fishy tasting and tough. (we really like octopus and this wasn't edible). The fusilli and spring pea cappelletti were good except there was a hair in the spring pea cappelletti. The pork chop was a little underdone.
This experience was nothing like our previous meals. After this trip I'll be surprised if we return.
The pizza looked good so perhaps if we return we will alter what we order.
We were also seating in the glass enclosed area near the rear door. The staff serving the exterior table were in and out continuously. The mechanical unit outside the door and the door closing over and over again didn't add to our experience.
The antipasti and primi dishes were delivered extermely quickly and in rapid succession. There wasn't enough time to enjoy each dish before the next dish was delivered. Then we waited 20 minutes for our pork chop.
Very nice love the food!
We were very disappointed and will likely not return. Our server Ian was really good but the food was not anywhere near the quality we experienced in the past. We raved about our previous visit and looked forward to a wonderful meal. Sadly it did not compare.
Celebrating our 28th anniversary, my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. We were surprised with a complimentary glass of Proseco and a delicious crostini, compliments of the chef. It started the night off beautifully followed by the Convivio, a several course dinner for 2. The beet salad, capaletti with spring peas, and the chicken with escarole and beans were a few tasty highlights. The chocolate tortini and pistachio gelato was the perfect cap to the dinner. Thank you to the entire staff for making our night special especially to Sasha, who was the perfect host/server the entire night.
The food is expensive and the portions are not huge, but amazingly delicious. Great for a date, but if you come in groups expect to spend a lot of money.
The BEST Italian food in the area, I’m completely hooked. The pizza is delicious, the homemade pasta is to die for, and the pistachio gelato is completely unexpected and one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Dreaming of my next meal here!
SO good! The whipped ricotta starter is a must!!!
great food and the small plate servings were a good size and sharable.
Always a great option to more crowded (read that as tighter seating, table on top of table) venues, Osteria is our go-to when we're in Philly from Boston, NYC or Lancaster. Consistent, delightful staff and food is outstanding.
Wonderful meal! Not inexpensive but fantastic. Wonderful service and great food. Really enjoyable evening.
Excellent! An oasis of goodness near the Met!! Something for everyone on the menu
Beautiful evening to dine outside
A great restaurant with a fantastic, well executed menu that never disappoints. If I didn’t know better, I would think I was in Italy
Our first experience with this type of TAPA menu. Had grilled vegetables & margarita pizza. Very light dinner. Excellent dessert, lemon strattiata or something. Would definitely return. menu items a little pricey but the ambiance of the glass enclosed area very nice.
Marco was the perfect waiter - attentive without being annoying, timely without rushing. And he was able to understand my husband's requests, which is a miracle since I totally misunderstand what he's asking for! I'll definitely ask to be seated in his section the next time I dine there. We sat on the glassed-in porch which was just delightful. Outside would be nice too but you can never be sure if the sun will be in your eyes or it will rain. And can't say enough about how great the food is!! We've been coming here since it opened and have always been impressed. The bread is outstanding - we'd love it if they would go back to having more of a selection between the white and dark breads. The breadsticks are great too!!!! And the location to The Met is just perfect!!!!
We had reservations for dinner, but the Happy Hour was so good we cancelled the dinner and just enjoyed the great variety of food/drinks offered at the Happy Hour
We were scheduled to eat elsewhere this evening but plans changed and this place was suggested.
We sat inside and seemed to be the only person inside aside from a few patrons sitting at the bar. Others were seated outside.
Initially I felt rushed. Our appetizer came out extremely fast. In fact, it arrived before our drinks did. Too fast for wanting to relax over a martini and chill before eating.
We ordered the artichokes as a start. They were good however the portion was very small.
We then had the grilled octopus. This was very good. Rigatoni for an entrée. Again, good but small portions. Finished with a meat and cheese board. I found this to be very good and was the best value for the price. Their rustic bread was very good despite it being cut paper thin.
The red wine from the Umbria region of Italy was delicious. We did not have dessert.
Our server David did an outstanding job as did his teammates. Constantly filling water glasses and cleaning away plates. Very personable and professional.
Overall, Osteria is worth the visit. I had no issue with their pricing. However portions could be larger for the price you pay. Especially on their bread, artichoke and rigatoni offerings.
I thought that our meal was overpriced and it was not as good as you would expect for the cost. Not sure I would come back again just for that reason. The lasagna was overcooked almost burnt. And the Parma Pizza was very hard to cut and very hard to eat. The salads were good and the dirt dessert was fine.. I left feeling a bit disappointed and I'm certainly sure that's not what the owner of this establishment expects.
Very crowded with tables way too close together. 1/2 the food was amazing and the other half was just ok
This was our first visit to Osteria. We had dinner prior to a show at the Philly Met. Our impression was:
1. Tables are too close together and noise level is too high for reasonable conversation with your companion.
2. Service was very attentive and appreciated
3. Appetizer: Ribeye tartar - very good
Small plate: Lamb Ribs - fair; too fatty
Pasta plate: fair; too salty
Dessert: lemon/chocolate ice cream - fair
4. Wine selection - OK
Overall, not a restaurant that we would likely visit again.
The only complaint was that the lamb ribs were overcooked. The "lemon" dessert was delicious, however, only the meringue was lemon flavored
We order the fish for dinner it was very fishy couldn't even eat it we ordered the meat appetizer the meats were to dry couldn't eat that either $240 with tip was very overpriced for the quality of food for 2 people
Our food was delicious -- the charcuterie platter, artichokes, grilled octopus and pasta with a rabbit ragu. All yummy. But we also ordered a mushroom pizza which didn't quite make it for us. To our taste, the crust was too thin and the mushrooms were too mild. Others might like the pizza, but I think we will stick to their other outstanding dishes.
Great happy hour! It was a really nice night to sit outside. Unfortunately our server forgot to put in some of our food which caused us to wait. At least it was a nice night... but would have been nice if she showed some apology/comped something. Won't affect us coming back though!
