Service very slow. Drinks came 40 minutes after placing order . Seemed overwhelmed with number of patrons . Food was good .
My husband and I have been dining at Osteria since it opened. Our visits have diminshed since the Vetri leadership has gone. We nevertheless decided to try it once again. We should not have. What used to be a wonderful meal at a lovely establishment has turned into mass produced food served in a dining room with way too many tables for enjoyable eating. We felt rushed, crowded and sorely disappointed. Sad to say, this is not the Osteria it used to be.
Service was a little spotty. After several minutes before our server approached us, he finally arrived and immediately asked us if we had a theater commitment; we did and told him so, but that didn’t seem to have an impact. Sparkling water was brought when still was requested, bread for the table was never delivered, and the check was slow to be given. Sometimes slow service can be attributed to the kitchen, but that wasn’t the case in this instance. The food was fine though not exceptional.
Very nice evening out with my wife. Our server Marco was very knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us in our menu decision. We selected from the chef's kitchen of various items that cost us $58 per person. Food was fabulous and we got to sample many of the items on the menu. I definitely will recommend this restaurant to others and will return again.

Delicious pork chop. Seared on the outside. Like butter on the inside. Ravioli had very unique and appetizing taste. Service was impeccable. Drinks satisfied as they should.
Perfect pre dinner package for a show at the MET. This was my first visit with my daughter and granddaughter. We ordered the pre theater meal for three. Started with cocktails. Two of us ordered the grapefruit specialty cocktail which was a hit. I went with a glass of wine which was delivered in a glass only a quarter full. Okay, it was a large glass, but it bothers me when it's not at least half full! The meals consisted of tapas servings and they were just enough and filling. Our favorite was the haddock and the dessert of chocolate fudge tort with pistachio gelato. Our server was very nice and attentive. Parking is a breeze, valet right out front ($18). The meals coming out to other guests looked very good along with the pizza. I will go here again. Make a res it was very busy for a Wednesday night!
The appetizer, burrata panzanella was very salty,
seared scallops were also salty, as well the di bufala, the pork chop was excellent. The manager asked us how we enjoyed our meal and my daughter mentioned the salty first three courses, they apologized and removed the desert and tea from the bill. Which was not asked for but was very nice. I have to admit the wait staff seemed less friendly after the meal which was uncomfortable. I would suggest that management should not ask for a review meal with out the waitstaff become upset by it. I tipped 18% which I thought was deserved.
Pasta and pork dishes were absolutely excellent. will definitely return - a great restaraunt.
Wood fired vegetables were just raw vegetables served on a plate. They were not grilled at all. Food that sauces (scallops with spring peas and the bronzino in a lemon butter sauce) were not served with spoons so you could taste the sauce. For the amount of money and hype of this restaurant I hope that I caught them on a bad night but I just do not think so.
My experience exceeded my expectations. I would return.

With croutons. More of those than tomato and cucumbers. Very disappointing.
. It’s a rip Off. I’ve ordered baratta many many times in other restaurants and it’s always at least large ball. And the quality of the cheese was fair.
Several items we requested were not on the menu. So ordered the porchetta which was fair. Shrimp was good but we were two people and three were served. No one gave us the option of getting 4. I was underwhelmed totally.
Our waiter was taking the order of table next to us and was standing in between the tight table arrangement which caused my friend to have to lean way over in his chair to get out of his way. Very very uncomfortable and inconsiderate

Osteria is a really fun place to go for dinner. It’s beautifully decorated, lively and has delicious food. We had a wonderful time there!
The restaurant was overwhelmed. They could not keep. They were out of 2 items we ordered at 6pm! Tables on either side of us were really angry. The food we did get was good but they need to work on the overall experience.
I have been to Osteria a few times and have always enjoyed it immensely .....this time was a huge disappointment. We made reservations for four pre-show as we were going to the Met. We ordered the prix fixe tasting menu because there was something there for everyone and the four of us agreed. The first two dishes, Tartare and Grilled Octopus were fine but we were hard pressed to get a second glass of wine and bread came very late in the meal (we are all exceedingly fond of their bread so that was sad). Next came Francobolli which was such a small portion that not all four of us were able to get a forkful. When the Halibut arrived we actually looked around to see if we were being pranked as the four ounce portion (I grant it may have been five ounces prior to cooking) was laughable for a group of four. When we finally got our waiter's attention he simply said "Oh, do you want another one?" and reappeared with another small plate of pasta and another fish a few minutes later. By his reaction and the way he took it in stride it seems that this is a common occurrence and if serving miniscule portions is part of the business plan then I am very disappointed. Before I would post this on Open Table I did take the time to write to the Shulson group t share my experience and have not had a response in over a week - I have been in the restaurant business most if my adult life so this was a massive disappointment
Food was very good, service was lackluster and at times, trying.
Was very excited to try this restaurant. Walking in was impressed with the look of the place. Service was great! Food however was not great the night we were there. Perhaps if we had ordered something else our experience would have been different

We had a little bit of everything, some appetizers, pizza, pasta, entrees, sides, cocktails, coffee and dessert. Make sure you save room for dessert!
Great place to go before a show at The Met. We got there right at 5:00 when they open and the service was friendly and quick and got us out in plenty of time to catch our show. The outside patio area was really cute and my daughter loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the lights and of course my company...LOL. . We only got the Margarita pizza and the new ravioli with eggplant that was new to the menu and both were delish....even ordered a second margarita pizza.
Went here to celebrate the start of med school and it was just what we were looking for! Nice atmosphere, fantastic service, and amazing food! Unlike most other restaurants, I had no complaints about the food here being too bland or too salty. We ordered the linguine as well as the pork chops which were both cooked perfectly.
Apparently they have good happy hour deals which I look forward to taking advantage of next time.
Side note: parking can be a bit tough to find on the street so use public transportation if available.
Service was very poor. Food was good not great as opposed to what it was before the change. I understand it was “pre-theater” but we didn’t opt for that menu, were there in plenty of time but again, service was horrible. A comped dessert was a band-aid on what is an issue that needs to be addressed. .

Great meal, we took advantage of pre show special and were able to order 5 things from menu . Special " shout out " to Robert the valet for extra effort in keeping folks dry in thunder storm.
Great place to go to before shows at The Met. They even have a menu for that as well as happy hour offerings. We had the artichoke app and a pizza. Just enough for two! It got very crowded but not exceptionally loud. We even shared our table with another couple so they could stay in the bar area. All in all, a good place to pre-party!

Good service. Main course (pork chop) was delicious. Appetizers and primo were a little oddly spiced/flavored but interesting. Overall a good restaurant but Philly has many excellent choices. Close to the Met which was the main reason for selecting.
Had a wonderful dining experience on a beautiful night outside. We chose the Convivio and sampled many fine dishes. Benjamin's service was just great. Attentive engaged not overbearing or forced. He loves people and knows the menu. Great night
Lovely, big, lofty setting. Service was pleasant and attentive. Food was very good. My kids loved their pizza and pasta and my octopus. My husband and I enjoyed our mixed green salad, octopus, pork chop and chicken liver pasta. The wine was well represented and tasty. Desert was excellent - we had chocolate tortino, fruit tart and peach gelato.
This place can be lovely for a small group like ours and has bountiful options for larger parties. They have a lovely glassed in patio/ greenhouse area also.

We were excited to return to Osteria after not being there for a while. However, we were quite disappointed with the taste of the food. The dishes we had were overpowered by vinegar...vinegar was added to almost every dish and it did not belong there at all. The branzino was good, but too salty and we just thought the food lacked passion and taste. Our server was great and was very accommodating. I hope the food improves because it’s such a cozy, inviting place.
Liked the vibe as soon as we walked in. Disappointed the food was not served consistently. Lots of too long lulls between appetizers, small plates, etc. Scallop dish delivered cold and nearly raw. Server replaced it and he who delivered it called it medium well done scallop - an insinuation we eat beef well done! In general staff was great. Food quite good. A birthday celebration for a gluten free diner. Need more gluten free desert choices.
Amazing food and atmosphere!
Osteria is one of of our go-to places because of the quality and creativity of the food and the attentive and professional service. We go often when we want a non-red sauce Italian meal.
Nothing short of amazing. Became 1 of my top 3 restaurants in Philadelphia. This is a place that understands how to provide not just great food, not just great service , but a truly encompassing dining experience.
Waiter "Marco" was excellent. Ambiance is very good, Cappuccino and biscotti were great.
