Michaud's classic take on Italian cuisine presented the perfect addition to Schulson Collective with Osteria's award-winning menu of antipasti, homemade pastas, house-cured salumi, authentic Neapolitan and Roman-style pizzas, wood-grilled meats, seafood and decadent desserts.
Complementing this menu is a fine selection of wine, handcrafted cocktails and craft beer.
Classically designed to have a warm, evocative aesthetic in an industrial setting, Osteria’s spacious dining room, glass-enclosed patio and private dining rooms—including a chef’s table—make it the perfect place for occasions of all scopes and sizes, whether it’s a quiet night out with friends and family, or a boisterous celebration with dozens of guests.

Though we had to wait 30min over our reservation additional for a reserved table, I feel the staff did handle the situation well. They did check on us multiple times and offer complimentary appetizers due to such a long wait with a reservation. It was my first time here and I understand it was a busy Thursday night with an event. I was overall happy with service and resolution, but hangry is hangry. I would still recommend. The special with braised beef cheeks and mashed potatoes was very good. Usually, I am weary of specials, but this was delicious.
Osteria is a wonderful treat in north philly. Homemade pasta, pizza and shareable entrees for the table. Wonderful service and a solid wine list.
Simply one of the best dining experiences in Philadelphia. The food is wonderful, the staff professional and unobtrusive, the value superb and the atmosphere relaxed. Osteria isn't "hot" or pretentious or over-the-top; rather, it's just a very pleasant night out with delicious food.
Birthday and then a concert at Philly Met.
We got the Theatre Prix Fixe menu, 4 items to be shared along with a dessert.
It was plenty of food for the two of us. Scallops were perfectly done, barramundi in a light lemon sauce, and some ricotta gnocci baked in the over with a cheese topping. All were very nicely done.
Dessert was hazelnut polenta mousse. Also tasty.
Was a little loud, but understand as it was Sunday night before a show at the Met Philadelphia so restaurant was crowded.
Food was awesome! We really liked trying our server’s recommendations. The octopus and branzino were soooo good! So was the mushroom pasta. The service seemed off, even though our waiter was great! The bar was backed up a few times, my husband got the wrong drink after having to wait for a second one because the first one was spilled. It took a while to order too. Because the food was SO GOOD, we’d definitely give it another shot.
We love Osteria, but made the mistake of eating here last night before a show at the Met. The waiter was excellent but far too busy. We sat a while between courses and three times servers brought food to our table that wasn’t ours.
We had a large round table at the door but there were only 4 of us, and there were so many people waiting for their tables that we couldn’t hear each other. Then, we sat fir quite a while after our last course before the waiter came back to give is the check. Had courses moved more quickly and had we wrapped up with the check timely, there likely wouldn’t have been such a large backlog of people waiting at the door. We were there over 2 hours.
Aside from last night, we live the food and atmosphere at Osteria. A great place for friends to gather or a romantic night out.
High expectation, low everything.... it was a very disapointing experience overall. To start, we ordered the Pannochio Pizza, that called out attention because of the truffle, but there’s no truffle on the pizza whatsoever!!! Truffle is a very intense ingredient in terms of smell and taste and although the waiters said they include truffle in the sauce... I am pretty sure that whatever ingredient was part of the sauce, truffle was not part of it!!! Plus, we realized that there was corn in the pizza!! Corn and muzarella di bufala don’t match... urgh! Horrible pizza! Not to mention all the confusion when ordering the wine, they did not have any of the wines that we ordered, and they were on the wine list, they confused the years of the wine... we just gave up on complaining and had whatever they brought. The cappellacci was good as well as the goat cheese pana cota. Decoration and ambience are super cute
We had not been for a while & it was still great! Great service, all dishes delicious. Many classics we have had b4 (thank heavens) but some yummy new ones too. Excellent!
Fantastic food and service. I will most definitely be coming back. I ordered the full Branzino and i couldn’t have been happier with my selection.
We dined here because it’s close to the Met. Couldn’t have been more perfect. We sat in their outdoor garden. We were able to order delicious snacks, pizza, and seafood from their super affordable happy hour menu. They also offered a pre theater menu!
Always dependable - great food and service in a warm and lively setting.
The service and the food were exceptional! Apparently a year ago they changed and everything is now served family style. It was a great way to try many items.
Dark restaurant which is okay if the menu were not in 8 point font. Hard to read and my vision is not that bad. The service was a bit slow - it started off fast with bread, water and drinks, but the rate limiting step seems to be the food preparation. The appetizers (a salumi plate and a cheese plate) were pretty good as was some charred octopus and shrimp - portions about 75% of what I expected since they were ordered for a table of six. Not a lot of cheaper wine selection, which I suppose is good if money is not an issue. Got two 60$ plus bottles for the table of six and the wine was good, but the prices seem a little disproportionate to what I have spent at better restaurants. The main dishes were quite good in my opinion. Our coffees never came and the bill was about to be dropped before they came, when we were finishing our desserts. I think with faster food service, slightly larger appetizers and maybe some better price points on the wine I would have given them a higher rating. Overall the quality of the food was excellent, when it came. Total bill for six people, appetizers, main courses, dessert, coffees and tips was close to 500 dollars. I think you can probably do better in Philadelphia for ambiance, service and price, but I did like the food.
Arrived for our reservation on time, but table wasn’t available, so sat a the ‘chefs counter’. Probably won’t do that again as there’s a lot of traffic with the servers going by and you stare at a stack of plates. The vegetable antipasti still is a favorite here. The current version of ribeye tartare was good, but perhaps a little under seasoned. Candles Bolognese and Seared Scallops were excellent as well as the dark chocolate sorbet. My wife loved her cocktail with the pistachio.. my ‘pulcinellla’ whiskey cocktail was oddly tart.
Food was executed perfectly and for the quality, it was surprisingly affordable. Enjoyed every bite!
Our first time back with the new owner. Brozino was fantastic, but a misunderstanding must have occurred. I asked if it was deboned and the waitperson whisked it away and said they'd have it taken care of. It came back 2 mins later decapitated! quite the leap. It was perfectly cooked and sweet, just a bit too much of the excellent olive oil puddling around it. In fact, they could cut back a tad on the olive oil on all the dishes we had. The grilled artichokes would have been raised above the dish had they been raised above the overdone toppings and just rested upon them. Would have had more eye appeal as well. We'll be back to see how the pizza has fared soon. It's still a great and sizzling place.
Waitress was very well informed and helped us to make good choices. Busboys were very accommodating. It was very noisy and I have been to Osteria about 5 x and never so loud. Probably due to our seats near the kitchen. We had to ask for our bread....that should have come out quickly. The artichoke appetizer was good but small and not a good value. The tagliatelle and mushrooms was a great dish.
Took away the booklet of wine bottles for purchase and said “this is the big boy list”
Would recommend only if you like small plates
Pasta was the same price as a year ago for half the amount
My husband who is an average eater for a male left hungry after two small plates and one large
Very well might be the best chicken I have ever had. Excellence service, awesome venue space (recommend the sun room with the lights ). Only mild complaint was that all the tables are very close together so at times can hear others conversations.
This was our first time at Osteria. We went for restaurant week. Each dish was delicious. One of the things that impressed me the most at this restaurant was the service. Usually restaurants rush you during Restaurant Week but Osteria’s service was amazing. Our dishes came out one at a time and our dinner was relaxed and romantic.
Fantastic food and service
Wait staff were excellent and the food presentation was exceptional. We enjoyed the variety of small plates.
The food was super salty. I understand it was restaurant week, but that shouldn’t mean the food suffers
I came here during restaurant week. Our server was very informative, took her time explaining how things work, and answered my questions about certain dishes in great details. We ordered 6 different dishes meant to be shared and I think my favorite was their ravioli dish. It was light and bright in flavors which made is pleasant and not heavy for me. I would definitely recommend this place for birthdays or dates.
My previous experiences with osteria have been amazing, but this one fell short. The food was great, but the service was definitely sub par, as the server didn’t know anything about any of the wines and tried to push me to purchase one I didn’t want. Additionally, the food came out slowly with lots of time between courses. I’ve had a great time in the past and will always come back for the food, but was disappointed in the restaurant week experience.
The food at Osteria was great, as was the service. At one point there was a delay in our courses coming out, but unprompted the manager came over and apologized. Our server was excellent and the food was very good. We will definitely be back.
Unfortunately the food and service is not what it used to be at Osteria.
Osteria was an amazing place to eat for restaurant week. My boyfriend and I enjoyed an amazing dinner with great service and even a complimentary pizza! The dessert was absolutely amazing and the coffee we ordered went so well with it. We both agreed that we want to come back to Osteria but next time try sitting outside.
We had an amazing night. Service was wonderful. Every detail was well thought out.
We went for restaurant week and I was bummed that the restaurant week website said that the ribeye was included but when we arrived the waitress told us it wasn’t. Overall the food was good but not outstanding. I would give them a try for happy hour but probably wouldn’t go back for dinner.
Incredible EXPERIENCE. Entire staff top notch.
Each course was wonderfully prepared.
This was the best Italian food I’ve ever had. My fiancé lived in Italy for a semester and our meal was the most authentic she’s had since. Also, our waitress was very kind and did not rush us or mind answering our stupid questions.
And anything of the meats
We were lucky to be able to go to Osteria for restaurant week where we enjoyed several family-style dishes. they were all good but the rabbit ragout was outstanding! The service was excellent although it was quite busy and the noise level was not as loud as I expected. We will be returning.
GM was professional and the rest of the staff was first rate.
Their restaurant week deal is well worth it and our server Marco was very good and gave us great recommendations.
Me and my two friends went for restaurant week - they offered their chef’s tasting for $35 and everything was delicious but the portions were a little smaller than expected. For example, we ordered the scallops and only got two. They were spectacular though. The mushroom ravioli was light and so flavorful- great sauce to dip the bread in! The burrata was also a top fav. Next time I return, I want to try the pizza! Our server was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend!
Food was great, wine was great, ambiance was great.. but major glitches (sat next to the bar with people bumping into our table multiple times, NEVER got bread, took 20 min to get water, wrong entree came out, AND we were charged for wine we never got... making our bill $100+ what it should have been)... good food and good wine... but not convinced I’d go back after the experience.
First of all, our server Marco was amazing and we loved every minute of him. It was not the best meal I've ever had but it was very good and I appreciated the rustic, authentic flavor. I love the restaurant itself and the wine was very good. I have no reservations recommending to friends or going again myself. They have indoor, covered/outdoor, and outdoor spaces, the decor is beautiful, and the service was fantastic, so I'll definitely be back.
