The staff and service were great. We were informed of all specials and recommendations which was nice to hear. But the overall ratings/reviews of the food that I read online did not meet my expectations when I went. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe (made tableside) and opted for truffle which cost more than what was listed on the menu. Still opted for it, but you're only paying for shaved truffle on the top of the pasta. Did not think that was worth an extra $25....... Also ordered the chicken parm which was soggy. Food was not bad but not worth the hype in my opinion for the cost. Again, the staff were great and pleasant! No complaints to them at all.

Awesome authentic Italian food. Reminds me of eating at a little cafe in Rome. Always busy but they put the effort in to deal with acoustics properly so it’s easy to have a conversation and doesn’t feel noisy. Service is friendly and good. Haven’t had a bad dish there yet. It’s one of my new go to’s. Big plus is they honor reservations promptly. I’ve always been seated immediately and on time with a rez. Good for a date or a family dinner.

After diligently searching for a great Italian restaurant in NYC we selected Osteria Nonnino to meet up and dine with friends. Nonnino’s is my new favorite restaurant in Manhattan. The food was delicious. We had Caesar salad, beet and goat cheese salad, Cacio E Pepe, Pappardelle Bolognese, and Spaghetti Al Pesto, and the pastas were cooked to perfection. Wines by the glass were generous pours, the service was incredible and the restaurant has a really cool vibe. We look forward to our next meal at Nonnino’s.

Such a disappointment, but hasten to add, not because of the staff. We did have a server who seemed impatient when asked to repeat two specials (due to hearing difficulties, see below), but he was nice enough to say bye on his way out, probably happy to leave the din behind. Our entire visit was marred by a very loud shouting/screaming table of 4 or 5, mostly women, across the room from us. There appeared to be no effort to request them to use normal speaking voices, which apparently they were incapable of regulating themselves, despite the clear discomfort of our table and two other adjacent ones. Some restaurants have a policy addressing this, and any one with a rating of 4.8 needs to work out a polite way to handle it. Our best dish was the sea bass special, potato encrusted with a hollandaise sauce. Cavatelli Barese was just ok, with an overall impression of homogeneity and barely any broccoli rabe to be seen. The accompanying $20 glass of Barolo was just ... fine, and we should have probably considered a bottle instead, but in retrospect, are glad we didn't. We were offered good limoncello by the nice server who took over our table, a little lift to a meal we would not repeat, before making our way out into the blissful quiet of the night.

Fantastic food and ambiance. The tableside service was a special touch. Closest thing to being in Italy.
