What Insiders Are Saying
One of LA's finest Italian restaurants, Osteria Mozza in Hollywood is still very much at the top of its game.
Our server, Ralph, was wonderful. We came for our anniversary and will return. We ordered one item from each course menu and shared all 5! Outstanding!
I went to Osteria Mozza for a date. We ordered two cocktails (don't remember their names), Mozzarella di Bufala Tasting, Grilled Octopus, cacio e pepe, and another type of pasta cooked with rabbit meat (forgot its name). In general the food provided at Osteria Mozza was disappointing to us. Their cocktails were lack of creativities and the tastes were quite boring... maybe try their wine next time... Mozzarella tasting was interesting and fine. They offered three types of mozzarella and I would recommend this for people who want to compare different mozzarella side by side. Grilled octopus was too salty and slightly overcooked so the meat was dry. Cacio e pepe was too salty for me to finish. Regarding their service, I would hope they refilled water a bit faster. All the time I was thirsty because of their salty dishes but had no water to drink... which would be a big minus to my experience at Osteria Mozza.
Upscale osteria. Great service, mixologist, sommelier, and excellent meals!! Small menu but everything on there is delicious. They have something for everyone. Reservations strongly encouraged. Bar seating limited during traditional dining hours.
Food was amazing, service was wonderful!
Great Italian restaurant in LA
Actually disappointing. It’s still an ok restaurant but somewhat lacked flavor. Menu description more exciting than execution. Waitress very friendly but sommelier giving three usual high brow vibe. Overall decent but expected more, food is not exciting.
Service was mediocre for an Applebees. It was poor for an upscale restaurant. Two waiters and two food runners/bus boys served the entire restaurant.
The duck was very salty and no better than the roasted duck hanging in the window in china town. The best food on the menu seem to be covered in salt. The other dishes had great base flavor but lacked the balance and blend of flavors that you’d expect from a restaurant of that caliber. I wouldn’t waste my money here again.
I don’t drink wine so I can not speak to the wine.
Both food and service at Mozza was outstanding! The waitstaff was attentive without being pushy, they were great at anticipating our needs. It was a fantastic Mother's Day dinner.
One of the best restaurants in Los Angeles, the food and service are always stunning.
This was the third time at Osteria. We consider it one of the best restaurants. However, the three of us were disappointed on Mother’s Day dinner. After making the reservation 2 months in advance and had a reservation when the restaurant opened, we were seated away from the main dining area which seemed like the hallway. We requested a change and was accommodated. Much of the food is shared but the pasta was extremely salty and the beef although marinated well was slightly tough. The cost outweighed the quality on this visit.
I couldn’t have expected anything more than the great service, food, and beverages at a Nancy Silverton restaurant.
I came here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. Asked for a cozy table which I received. Food service was impeccable. Team service even more outstanding. We felt so well taken care of. The food was deleicious and nicely presented! The ambiance was super sexy and inviting. I will definitely be coming back! Can’t wait to try the pizzeria next door which is a sister restaurant! Thank you Osteria Mozza for the amazing dining experience.
The food was delicious but the server was incredibly rude and picked a fight with my aunt. The service ruined the experience.
The wine steward went out of her way to find the right wine for me, which I so appreciated. I loved the service and we were very well treated - from the hosts to the wait staff. These are wonderful people. We had beautifully prepared and presented food. The mozzarella course was out of this world! This was a true dining experience. One thing, it was our wedding anniversary and so an event for us. Although, we let them know in advance, there was no acknowledgement of it other than our waiter saying Happy Anniversary. I guess i’m Just used to restaurants making a bit of a fuss over personal events. Still, we had a good time And would go to this restaurant again.
Simple Italian food done very well well. Exceptional wine list
Bartenders too snooty for their own good. Bring the attitude down a notch.
Probably my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles. A true dining expeeience that makes eating at a restaurant special. The food ingredients are fresh, and the prepared with the utmost knowledge and love of food. The service is attentive and knowledgeable. Everything was excellent
simply the best in LA!, this has always been one of our favorite spots, and always a memorable experience.
Fabulous dinner! The food is insane and our evening was perfect! Husbands birthday and it couldn’t have been better.
It is very loud here so be prepared.
Food here is always pleasing to the palette. The tables for two can feel a little cramped.
I think this is one of the best restaurants in LA!!
Great experience. Delicious food. Very attentive staff.
We’ve been wanting to eat here ever since we saw the restaurant highlighted on Chef’s Table. Completely fulfilled our dining expectations. Food was exceptional. Best olive tempande I’ve ever eaten. We loved sitting at the mozzarella bar and Alyssa and Ralph made our dining experience outstanding. A great way to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Can’t wait to go again.
The food was disappointingly non-exciting. Nothing was bad, but nothing was REALLY good either. We had fish (ottario, I think? bland), pasta (some of gnocci with mushrooms - meh), burrata with asparagus (probably my favorites, but not exciting), an endive salad (too vinegary)....everything was good, but just not delicious. I used to love this place, haven't been here in a while and was quite disappointed....just feels like they're phoning it in now and living off of past glories. We got there kinda late and were the last of the tables to be served so the kitchen was probably tired but still...I expected excellence and got mediocrity.
Seriously wonderful experience. I’ve passed by this place hundreds of times and assumed it was just another Italian restaurant. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
The service was excellent and the food couldn’t have been better. A new favorite.
It was very good italian food but not the best I have tasted.
Food was incredible. Can't have asked for a more exceptional dining experience.
This was a seminal meal. Everything was delicious. Service was superlative. If I lived in LA, I’d be here on a weekly basis.
This was my second magical meal with Nancy Silverton. The menu is loaded with goodness, the food is incredible, the presentation straight forward and the space buzzes with energy. Don’t miss dessert...at any cost!!! We love you Mozza!!!
We have been planning a trip to LA just to go here since watching Nancy Silverton’s episode on Chef’s Table on Netflix. It was everything we hoped for — and Nancy was even there and came over to say hi and take a picture. The food was perfection. I wish I had the passion for anything in life that Nancy has for food. It is inspiring.
Food was outstanding, as well as the service. The busser was super kind, but our server was a bit rude and careless. Other than our particular server, it was great.
Incredible meal with impeccable service. HIGHLY recommended.
Birthday dinner, service was very slow, food was good, price was high.
Service was slow. Food was mediocre. I was not impressed.
Absolutely a perfect meal.
It was delicious! Everything was beyond yummy. The vibe is nice and relaxed. The service was warm and friendly. Nothing but a positive experience and we look forward to going back!
4 for dinner on a Sunday night. Arrived 4 min early ..Sent to the bar to wait, then led to a sub par table, asked for the better one next to it...OK seated there. Nice waiter... overwhelming and tres expensive wine list.. asked for the sommelier..great guy, Cam to the rescue. We were looking for a Sicilian red for under $100..bingo, he found us one. The table started with a terrific appetizer- mozzarella with a series of sauces and toasted bread. Next, we all had the very refreshing green salad w/ cucumbers and radishes - perfectly dressed. We all chose pasta’s but only one- orrachetti w/ sausage was a home run. The ricotta gnocchi was bland . The butterscotch budino for dessert was a great hit and a surprise- usually only available at Pizzeria Mozza next door.
Summary; be prepared to spend big or go elsewhere.
Exquisite food and attentive service, although I wish our server had advised us that we were over-ordering the shared appetizers and salads. We were too full to eat our entrees! Not the worst problem in the world. We will know better next time :)
This is my most favorite restaurant! We go here as often as we can afford. Luckily we have season tickets to the Pantages, so we have no excuse not to come then. Everything tastes wonderful, the service is perfect, they don't bother you but are there just before you realize you need something. Oh the food, I love the Burricotta & Artichokes from the Mozzarella bar, I literally was laying in bed last night remembering the tastes and wishing I could go back today. We had the Orichette with Sausage, oh my the flavors in that sausage! And the texture of the pasta, so tender . The Sweet Potato fritti we shared with our friends, my only regret! I am not a food critic and do not have the vocabulary to describe these tastes, but, so flavorful and wonderful. We had the chocolate sesame tart for dessert, wow! Haha my husband is a meat a potato kind of guy, and saw Tahini in the ingredients and was like no, don't want any of that. I forced him to get it with me and trust me. He loved it! I can't wait until the next show at the Pantages!
Wonderful food and great service.
