We were visiting LA and saw the Chef's Table episode about this restaurant and had to experience it. We had an incredible meal! The service staff was on task constantly refilling our water/wine glasses but also not rushing the meal. Our server was so helpful guiding us through the menu and orchestrating the timing of the courses. Our group of 4 always likes to share our dishes which was highly encouraged by our server-she in fact picked out selections which were ideal for sharing. Portion size was perfect. Our favorite item which was recommended by our server was the Octopus Salad! So tender and fresh! My only one small critique which may just be a personal preference was that the bread wasn't warm. Even room temperature the bread was delicious! I would look forward to another meal there

Most over-priced wine list I have seen in ages. Nice list, but, wow, many more times markup than any similar restaurant that I can think of. And the Sommes are trained to pour so frequently that its hard to enjoy the wine knowing that they are selling so aggressively rather than just giving attentive service.

The food is good, but its not great. It needs recharging.

I actually think this place is totally overrated. The food is good, but not nearly worth the prices charged. Food took forever to come out and then was predictably cold. No explanation given at all. Skip it. This is an LA example of hype being better than quality.

The waiter we had could have been friendly. We had questions about a couple of dishes and it felt like he was doing us a favour by responding.

Our waiter changed towards the end and she was very nice and had a friendlier attitude.

Awesome dinner! We asked to be seated at the Mozza bar and were entertained by the talented chefs in front of us. Great wine suggestions. Would go back in a heart beat!

Unfortunately, our meal at Osteria Mozza is another disappointing experience dining at one of the big name restaurants in LA. We have lived in LA for over 8 years, and have been so pleased with the burgeoning restaurant scene here and are continuously finding that the big names can't deliver on consistent quality and service like many newcomers can (Bestia, Alimento, etc). For the price tag that comes with the name Mozza, the service and the food fell very short. Not worth it.

The service was impeccable. The food was delicious and would have given more stars but it was really pricey for what was served. For the 5 of us, we ordered 3 appetizers, 3 pasta dishes, 2 entrees and 1 side dish which was just enough. The pastas were delectable. Admittedly, the desserts we chose stole the show and we enjoyed them more than the actual meal- and I am normally partial to savory plates. We got 1 dessert each: the espresso semifredo, torta della nona, flourless chocolate cake, pistachio gelato and the hazelnut and chocolate gelato. We would definitely go back and try other menu items as we had a good experience overall.

Simply amazing! I flew my fiancé here from nyc right after I popped the question. Nancy is her all time favorite chef. The food is amazing, everyone was so friendly and we even got to meet Nancy who happened to be the nicest person in the world. Thank you for a night we will never forget. I highly recommend this place!

Food was OK, however was really surprised by our service. Our waiter even acknowledged how bad of service he was giving us! We had a reservation at 930, wasn’t seated until 945, and ordered our dinner at 10. We ended up being the last people in the restaurant and had to approach the waiter to close our bill out. Food was good but value is poor considering the service.

We had to wait 25 minutes before our table got ready.
We waited at the bar and since my husband was very hungry we decided that maybe he has to order food before we have a seat. Bradley, did not make that happen! He was very rude and disrespectful to our party. We are happy we got seated.

The food:

Tagliatelle with ragu, too salty! Stay away!
Octopus was good, nothing special
Orata, was good but wasn’t amazing

Overall, we couldn’t wait to leave! Sigh!

Both myself and my dinner companion noted the saltiness of our pasta entrees, the homemade punch was lovely, the mozzarella tasting course was good, the desert was fine. But a lot of fuss for a meal that was solidly ok

This was our first time at Osteria Mozza and hopefully it won’t be our last! The entire evening was absolutely amazing and everything satisfied to the fullest. The service was impeccably timed and delivered by a wonderful staff, the food was literally all outstanding, and the whole experience was just perfectly executed. I 100% recommend this for a nice night out; worth every penny!
