Osteria Mozza Ratings and Reviews
After watching Chefs Table my fiancé and I had to see what Osteria Mozza was all about. From the moment we walked it you would have thought your in the heart of Hollywood. We were welcomed with warm greetings from all the staff and made us feel like we were so important and the only people in the restaurant. We sat in a quiet corner that was frequently featured on chefs table and we felt like we were the stars of the night. We came to Osteria Mozza to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday and our engagement and they made sure the whole restaurant knew.
The waitress we had was amazing. You could tell she worked for Nancy for many years. We felt like family with her. She helped us by walking through the menu and gave her suggestions of the best dishes. We tried all her suggestions and was amazed with the flavors that were flowing through our mouths. Our waitress was so friendly and kept checking up on us to make sure we were okay the entire time. She even tried to grab Nancy so that we could meet her but unfortunately was busy running this amazing restaurant. From the moment we walked we knew Osteria Mozza was special restaurant but it’s pure amazing with all the creations Nancy has poured into this restaurant. We can’t wait to go back to experience it all over again.
We were 15. In late for our dinner for to parking and called in advance. Upon arrival the hostess asked if we would be done by a certain time. Very rude. The staff was circling around the table making sure turnover was rapid constanyky. Not a very relaxed environment for dining at all.
The dishes we ordered were outstanding but waaaay too much food. I only wish the server had pointed out to us the size of the portions. We split a mozzarella appetizer and a pasta, both of which were very good. We followed that up with quail and yellowtail entrees along with two vegetables. The presentation of the mozzarella was especially nice and set the stage for a delicious meal. We didn't mind the cost but ended up with a lot of food to take home.
On another note, it would be nice to have the option of sitting adjacent to one's dining companion, rather than opposite.
Celebrated our wedding anniversary here. The food was excellent and the service was top notch and unrushed. They took care to make sure this was a truly memorable outing. The sommelier, Rachel, was truly superb and is world class. Her descriptions of various wines made you taste them in your mind and when you finally selected one, it was exactly as described.
This was some of the best italian food i have had and i am from NJ so ive had my fair share. The attention to detail is impeccable. The fresh ingredients shine through as you can taste every layer of flavor. Definitely get a couple of items from the mozzarella bar. The orchietta in sausage sauce was the best (a little salty for me) but still outstanding! I didnt care for the raviolio with the oozing egg, but for those who like that, they would LOVE the one here because it was done so well. The grilled octopus is also a must!
This is a first class restaurant in every way. The atmosphere is energetic, but comfortable, stylish yet timeless. The high point of the food is the craft and inventiveness with each ingredient presented in its best aspect. The mozzarella selection alone puts most Italian restaurants to shame, but the highlight at least for our night was the tagliolini with freshly grated black truffles. The aroma of this ingredient is intoxicating. The wine list is one of the best I've seen and the range of selections from fresh fish to grilled vegetables is spectacular. I will go again and again to explore the menu and continue the culinary journey the chefs have created for me. Thank you Osteria Mozza for a most memorable night.
Truly the best meal I've enjoyed in 2017. That conclusion is shared by the three of us. We had nine separate dishes, and each was superlative. As fairly experienced diners, our critical analysis of food preparation, restaurants and service is somewhat advanced. From Virginia, I am in LA about 10 times a year. I already booked again for my return in three weeks. What higher recommendation can be made than that?
The food was really good. The service was good but there were small mistakes that didn’t bother me too much. We got one different pasta than we ordered but it was one we talked about ordering and it was delicious so I didn’t say anything. I ordered my steak medium well so I could share with the table, my preference is rare, and it ended up being quite rare. So I didn’t have to share. Not too big of a deal.
Amazing Italian food. We were lucky to be there on a Monday night when the chef was hand stretching mozzarella, so delicious. The cold pasta with Dungeness crab and uni was also very special. But the star of the show was ribeye. Great food and ambiance. Can't go wrong here.
The overall experience was good. I had read that it could get a bit noisy, however, we were lucky to be seated in an adjacent room to the main one, so it was not noisy and we could enjoy our conversation without raising our voices. We ordered the Mozzarella tastings to share because of the name of the restaurant, expecting that it would surprise us, however, it did not, at the end of the day mozzarella is mozzarella, not an incredibly interesting cheese. The pasta dishes were delicious, especially the raviolo. We ordered 2 desserts to share, they were ok, but rather on the very heavy side. The sommelier was very helpful and helped us to choose a very good wine without being on the expensive side of the list.
